so.. I really liked where the story was going in this game but i had two major complaints: 1: the combat was chunky and way monotonous, maybe i was doing somthing wrong, but i found i could defeat any world by simply driving my mass effect buggy till i was just out of range, then kill pretty much anything with my sniper riffle. anyway the action sequences were meh. 2: the loading issues. after my second pivotal scene with no character mesh's and just floating talking guns, i stopped playing the game. does the PC version at least fix the buggy loading issues?

i guess they made a big one, pretty impressive

in all honesty the 1/48's transformation is "perfect" by technicality, you esentially do detach the legs from the plane, but after the 1/60 backlash, yamato added a loose bar that sorta holds on to them. the bar servers no real purpose (i guess maybe it has some locking mechanism for the folding torso, but it certainly adds nothing to the leg swinging motion). the 1/55's have true perfect transformation imho in that the legs are BOLTED to the main body and swing on a pivot. the 1/48 may as well be attached with a string. not saying the 1/48 sucks but i dunno if i'm comfortable calling it perfect transformation.

if i had more disposeable income right now i would, i've always liked the fighter mode on that, even if it's not actually in any of the macross i'm into.
-
if you mixed up people would it even out? :-D

realistically it seems like these things will go for 400+

get a 1/55. they're pretty cheap too and it may/may not satisfy your need for valks in a sub-$100 package. if you don't break it, if the cost of buying it AND another valk doesn't break YOU, if you feel the need to buy something better... then you know a 1/48 is right for you. My 1/48 is the prize of my collection but i'd be very unsatisfied if i didn't have my 1/55. when my roommates are out i still click it through it's modes and zoom it around the living room, i've even dropped it once (though i don't reccomend this, chunky monkey or not, the wings and tails are thin.) start with a 1/55. they make great gifts to jr. macross fans too (if you decide it's not for you)

Macross Frontier News Thread II *Read 1st post*

if no VF-1's are in the video then people damn well better stop calling them Valkyries </indignat rant> -
while i hate to see my buddy wolfx BANNED for this. at the same time i gotta side with the mods, they clearly stated what would happen if offencive material was posted. maybe "offencive" wasn't defined clearly or what ever. as far as i'm concerned MW is one of the best sites on the web for an anime fan site. routeinly this site has clashes of ideas that DON'T erupt into the retarded rantings that are so common on the internet. i appreciate the family friendly nature of the site (it's a site i generally never have to worry about opening in a public setting or at work) and the generally even handed. Personally i'd rather my MW devoid of the indulgent smut so common on the web and steriotyped in anime. If that's what you want to see step on over to 4chan or some other site where that's what it's all about. Anyway Wolfx is a long time member and it really sucks he has to be banned for this one thing. I could understand a week suspension of hsi account or something as a warning to follow the rules. but that's not up to me. I hope things can get sorted out maturely. I've very much hate to see this awesome web comunity get fractured and "angryfied" by this thread and it's consequences...

please be careful

how come when modlers "weather" something they sorta fade to dark on the panel lines? this is so rare in real machines, why is it so common in models? on real machinery weathering happens where the weather lands. dirt doesn't slowly crawl out of the cracks to envelope the vehicle.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
KingNor replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Max's TV-1A also had some of the best animations for the valks in the tv serise. I have to agree the max tv-1a is cool, probably the only "hero" valk i'd buy. though i would probably buy a CF and an Alaska base valk before i bought a max. i just love the faceless valks. somthing that's missing in the progressively more "heroized" macross of today. -

How does a Variable Fighter move?
KingNor replied to Firefighter Destroid's topic in Movies and TV Series
I've always liked to think that the Valks had a bit of an AI system that interpeted the input of the pilot to a certain degree. IE: you didn't controll the legs directly at all times, but you'd use the controls to tell the plane "i'm gonna go over there" and then the plane would figure out the best way to move there. roughly that feels pretty vague and with something like a valkyrie you woudln't want movement to be vague so i'd imagine it would MOSTLY feel like you had direct control. I'm not talking about something like an Eva or a robot with a sentient personality, but something that was smarter than say a car. There has to be a fair amount of anime magic involved thoguh becasue i just don't see how you could accurately control a human shaped machine from a seated position unless the machine was interpeting a lot of what you were telling it to do. there are just too many joints to control with just your hands and feet. -
so this... is ...going to star tom hanks?

I'd be ok with simple "colonial marine" figures rather than actual characters from the movie, i really don't care so long as the armor and weapons are right. also... PREDATORS c'mon!

Whats the rhyme or reason to uniform colors in SDFM?
KingNor replied to Macrossmaster's topic in Movies and TV Series
well. lets look at the uniform colors Misa White and Yellow, she's the flight controller Claudia had green and yellow i think, she was the SDF CEO i think the bridge bunnies had light blue uniforms, and they were ship systems, comunications and various other stuff. seems pretty straight forward to me. other than that i'd just say it was to make the characters stand out more -
if they do an Aliens and Pred1/2 revoltech line, i may need to come out of action figure retirement for a few weeks.

if robin williams is Rosarch i'm not touching this movie. effing robin williams. the horror

i wouldn't be against a "still mysterious" answer, kinda like those "ghost" ships they sometimes find at sea with all crew just gone, with meals half eaten. you know it is probably omething mundane but man it's eerie. i could see the megaroad still in 100% working order, or simply depleted of fuel and just missing crew. creepy.

How many times have you watched episode one of Frontier?
KingNor replied to taksraven's topic in Movies and TV Series
macross F just once, i watched some snippets here and there to see the VF-25 though but that doesn't count. SDF i've seen all the way through as a serise maybe 2 or 3 times , but i watch random discs fairly regularly when i'm working on stuff Mac + at most 4 times Zero: havn't even seen all the episodes once, mostly i jump through them, really i'm not diggin it. M7: literally just too much content for me to get into, and too much reused animation, which is a total cop out, i need to watch it. DYRL?: maybe 3 or 4 times -
so lets assume the megaroad 01 is destroyed. In macross F would you want a story arc involving finding the megaroad 1 and discovering what happend or do you prefer the mystery? I'd be interested to see what happend, but what I DON'T want is the fate of the megaroad being tied to the events of MF. "oh look the megaroad was destroyed by these weird insects!" nah. I'd like to see it as a side story, and i'd like it to simply be a exploration of some tradgic event. which imho would be a fitting end to the SWI characters story line and the macross theme of life simply happening. Survive a war, then die in an interstellar "car wreck". otherwise i'd just rather the mystery. realistically thats the only real way i can see recurring characters happening, MF is about a colony ship right? It wouldn't make much sense for Isamu or Fire Bomber to fly all the way out there somehow. I assume we'l probably see some "camios" though like a minmay T-shirt or a video of basara in concert. but that's all i'm expecting.
