  1. I won't be so hard on yourself mate. I think that these super/strike parts sets are relatively easier to produce (compared to the full transforming valks) and we have already seen Bandai do reruns of the SSP set, and they are not that hard to find at a slight markup in the second hand market today. Fast forward to December, you should be able to find one on Mandarake for like 10-11k yen, or even less going forward depending on demand. Bottom line is - you will be able to get it, albeit not for 8,800 yen, but hopefully not much higher.
  2. I understand where you are coming from, makes sense. TBH I think one set of TV super parts will probably be enough for me anyway. I would rather save towards the eventual grey visor VF-1J to go with the GBP for the canon look.
  3. i lol'd and then applauded
  4. I have contacted them twice already. Obviously I’m not worthy enough a customer to expect a response from them within the month. My SSP order made in June last year is still outstanding and so is my VF-4G Focker edition.

Right, the strike (and now super) pack from Bandai seems to be a step back without the full interior details, especially because I thought that’s what the DX “roadmap” showed with the grey samples back in 2018. I doubt that the Bandai DX GBP will have any more advanced features than the Yamato designs (from both 1/48 and 1/60) as well. I just don’t think Bandai will have individual missiles like the Yamato 1/48 did. Maybe a TWE “missile effect parts” or something....
  6. Welcome back sir! We missed your animated gifs in this last round of PO madness.
  7. Woke up to see this page lit and also an FB post showing the TV super parts announcement. Ordered from Okini land for the first time, but am not too worried about having to secure a second pack on Mandarake after release. Parts/Armors have the advantage of being much easier to produce than transforming valks, and so it’s much easier to support the potential demand.

Then it would be the best GBP out there in the history of Valkyrie figures, hands down!

Both the Arcadia 1/60 GBP and the HM-R GBP are designed extremely well, where parts fit snugly onto the Valkyries and the armor doesn’t really get loose from posing. However the proportions of the HM-R GBP is better IMO. Arcadia’s version seems a little more “blocky”. I just wish that Bandai would replicate the proportions of the HM-R GBP and transpose them to the eventual DX version.

Thanks for the clear explanation, Jenius.

I love what FextToys did to fill a much needed gap for armour kits that fit all the HMR VF-1’s out there.

Yeah 15-17k yen on Mandarake is a great price for a HM-R GBP. The condition of the figures at Mandarake are the best in the used market IMO. At this price range you should seriously consider it if you have been looking for this set.

Personally I think the HM-R version of the VF-1J GBP is one of the best in the line, if you can find a used one at a reasonable price. Start looking early and jump on it when you see a good price on it.
  14. I noticed that in both the VF-1J and the Roy 1S, Bandai specifically said that these are “Limited First Edition” (or “初回限定版” ). This has got to be deliberate, and I am expecting another release of the 1J (grey goggles for GBP) and 1S (Hikaru) in the future with slight tweaks, minus the extra fighter mode stands.
  15. Agree. Seconds is probably a more appropriate measurement.
  16. Just looking at it on my phone, it looks like a VF-1S in Gerwalk mode, with super pack and red tipped (TV) reaction missiles.
  17. I don't think I want a two seater in the current DX VF-1 configuration TBH. Imagine it would probably take a remold or "renewal version" of some sort to incorporate the dual seater canopy design, and also the nosecone-release mechanism that's trademark of the VF-1D. If Bandai can do that, then I'll gladly hand over much higher than MSRP for it if I have to.
  18. That's my only preorder from last night, so I sure hope they come through.
  19. I managed to get 3-4 hours sleep in from about 6:30 am, so will see how things go this afternoon, but am thankful it's a holiday today.
  20. agree - with the DX and its (almost) over the top tampo markings, I think that some of them may be different between the TV super pack and the DYRL strike pack, such as the "ARMD-01" reference would probably be switched to "Prometheus" for the TV version.
  21. I thought I had seen it somewhere in this thread, and found it:
  22. I hope you get more than one too. I will never be able to weather my valks like that, and really enjoy seeing your work on here. Good luck!
  23. Respect! Good to see that you can fix it yourself. While unfortunate, it's probably not a bad spot to have a DIY repair part in the back of the legs, you won't see it 99% of the time anyway.
  24. I wished I double checked my amazon login on their japanese site (I assumed I was already on having switched countries only). The two-factor verification step killed my chances. and it was only like an extra 10 seconds.
