  1. This was my top pick of the lot (102F). You don't get GBPs in CF colour scheme very often imo. Especially one that's fully loaded like this.
  2. Gosh, these things are starting to run out in the first day of sale!
  3. Sadly I was like “ah ok, USD” and still went ahead and got two as if it’s not that expensive. Lol. Frakk this hobby, Amen!
  4. Did anyone get their order in with HKD currency? Lol
  5. Was going to order all of them until I realized the price is now listed in USD lol. Got the 102F and 001... for now.

Thanks! I will have to check that page more often.

    Bandai DX VF-31

That’s exactly what I did (paid with credit card through PayPal) and I agree it should give us protection should we need to put our foot down for refunds instead of store credit. While I understand that it’s not NY’s fault that the 31A is in short supply, their handling of the situation was really poor and I will definitely think twice before giving them business again.
  8. Agree. Considering recent price hikes by Arcadia on the 1/60 V2 line, and the fact that you get an original RAINBOW CANOPY version of a rare classic valk, I say be happy with your purchase and enjoy it.

Now $800 is really starting to take the piss. Would it be long before someone breaks the $1000 price mark?

    Bandai DX VF-31

Thanks for sharing your experience with this shop. Consistent with what I've read so far, I think Bandai is the root of the problem here (shorting the suppliers) and some companies have been quicker and more transparent in acknowledging the problem, issuing refunds and move on (e.g. Mykombini), while others (ahem) are being extremely coy about the whole situation which understandably pisses off their customers. This is my first order for a Bandai Macross DX toy and depending on how things go with N-Y, which is the only order I placed, I may be permanently scarred by the experience and never bother with Bandai DX toys again...
  11. I can understand that... because I've been trying to hunt down a V2 1/60 Elint Seeker myself ever since opening up my HMR version. Earlier this week I bought a VF-0S from a fellow member, and it was delivered today. Sadly, I could see the USPS guy holding the box through my security camera, but since nobody was home, he took it away and just left a delivery notice... I'm "working from home" tomorrow morning just so I can be first in line at the post office to pick it up tomorrow morning!!

Wow those are really good prices - if you create a post for deal hunting like these ones you found, I'll be sure to follow like on an hourly basis! (ok maybe not quite hourly, but you know what I mean!)
  13. Thanks, I hope so too. N-Y has been my go-to place for Japanese toys (mostly Macross series) and while they may have been slow to send orders in the past, I thought their packing is pretty good and have not had much trouble with them in the past. Despite this situation with the Kairos, I still think I will be ordering from them for now. Had placed a preorder for the super ostrich and now probably the Xabungle as well...

Haha I know - I saw earlier that someone got theirs for like 3-4000 yen, but I suppose those are one-off sales. I guess I have a few HMR VF-1's already so this one is optional, but to get a 1S HMR at discount for a third party GBP seemed like a good idea.
  15. Thanks very much! Interesting how N-Y seems to offer cheaper base prices compared to others, but their shipping and exchange rate markups ain't small from experience. This is probably going to be my fourth purchase as I continue to wait for my N-Y Kairos order to come through... lol.

I was thinking of getting one from amiami at 5740 yen before shipping, but the cheapest shipping option is about 1100 yen. Is that a fair deal or does anyone know of any cheaper options out there please?

    Bandai DX VF-31

I was expecting at least $700 before I clicked in... but it makes you wonder if they will ever close a transaction at these prices?
  18. Nice - now I think I want one too lol. I don't actually have much memory of watching Xabungle on TV as a kid, but do recall having a non-transformable toy when I was really small. What do you think is a reasonable (after-market) price to get one at these days, and where would you go to look? Thanks much.

    Bandai DX VF-31

congrats! When I lived in the UK, I ordered stuff from HLJ but was lucky enough to have never been charged any custom fees. Seems like they are much stricter these days.

I agree and thanks for sharing your thoughts. While I understand there is a cut-off date for paypal disputes (180 days after initial payment I believe), I am hopeful that either N-Y will eventually deliver all the orders, and in the worst case scenario, refund any unfilled orders (not through store credit). Paypal may also look into disputes past the 180 day deadline if they understand this is a PO situation and multiple customers are affected by the same company, if we ever get to that point. I'm trying to divert my focus on this order by, er, buying more valks.... just bought a VF-0S off another forum member earlier this week and am eagerly awaiting delivery tomorrow

May I ask which company did you order from? 600 yen boat sounds very reasonable to me.

I much prefer the TV style VF-1A head over the DYRL look. I have a 30th anniversary 1/60 DYRL CF and would love to find a way to swap out the sensor myself if I can. BTW that 1/60 TV Max looks fantastic....

I'm in USA East Coast, and for my preorder of the Super Ostrich, shipping was 1740 yen using the JP Post Eco registered option (2-3 weeks, with tracking no and insurance). Faster options such as the JP Post EMS (3-4 days) is about 2900 yen. You can actually see what your exact shipping charge is going to be if you start placing an order - you don't have to submit in order to see the shipping charges.
  25. I think 1/60 would be the sweet spot for the mass market since so many of us have Yamato/Arcadia 1/60 VF-1s. But the margin would probably be better on the 1/100 version and that's why I think they started with that scale instead.
