I know what you mean about the price of the VF-25S armor set... but I think I'm still going to have to hunt one down (and the base unit first, of course) at some point. I was already sold on it after the first episode of Frontier. -

You already have a very nice collection in my opinion, with a few that I would consider to be "grail" pieces (VE-1/VT-1/Max 1A and uniform) as well. I have recently started on the Macross F series, and couldn't help but paid through the nose for a used VF-25F renewal + armor set that started it all. Since I got my hands on that one, I've since ordered the YF-29 Durandal (Ozma and the 30th ann. color versions), super packs for these, VF-171 + super pack, a VF-31 Messer + super pack, and a few other bits and pieces. The Bandai DX Frontier renewal versions probably got one of the highest scores on Jenius' reviews and I can totally see why now. Too bad I wasn't a fan of the show so never got into the toys when they were released. Hoping that the wife doesn't find out about how much I've spent on these, but the big boxes all arriving one after another have raised a few questions already... -
Thanks Shizuka, I wish they had the ACT Trident (clear color) on sale. This is the hard one to find and most places I looked had only the white or dark blue version.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the tips on tightening the joints on the VF-25 renewal valk. Mine literally had drooping hips that were so loose, it wasn’t able to stand on its feet in battroid mode. After a quick fix to the hips they are now super tight again and ready for some dynamic poses, LOL:

Fingers crossed I will not change my mind about skipping the 31J years down the road... but for now if I can get my 31A from NY and the 31F which is already on its way by EMS, I will be quite happy.

I don't think we have seen any new 31A shipping notices from anyone on the forum since end of April? The last shipment was for orders made on 10/6 IIRC.

I just ordered a Messer VF-31F last week and have been toying with the idea of getting a set of super parts before it's too late (well I am already too late, but still). Seen some on Mandarake for 13k Yen but haven't researched enough to know what the current "fair" price point is. Haven't yet watched the show so don't know if super parts were prominent in the anime, but having watched a few episodes of Frontier, I now understand why the renewal Ozma armor parts command such a premium in the market now...

Thanks very much @no3Ljm for all the info. It's also unclear to me whether old Takatoku GBP armors will fit on the Bandai reissues. The closest I have come to is this picture on Jenius' review: You can see that the shape of the forearms are slightly different, and I think some people have mentioned that the super parts forearm piece won't fit perfectly because of this change. I used to own a GBP as a kid and remember that the GBP forearm armor just slides on to the arm, but am not sure if the slight change in shape will affect the fit. -

Not sure if this is an appropriate place to ask this question, but does anyone know if the Takatoku 1/55 GBP armor will fit with the 2002 Bandai reissue 1/55 Valks? I know from Jenius' review that the shape of the arms have changed a little bit so that the old super parts don't fit on the arm, but not sure if this is also the case with the GBP-1? I have a VF-1J from the 2002 reissue and wanted to get a set of GBP armor for it. Thanks! -

I was also following that auction and it really picked up speed towards the end. But 69k Yen is probably a record high for a CF 1J?

I have a HMR VT-1 on paid pre order with them and the 31A and that’s it. I am also not planning to give them more business after this. Yes their prices can be competitive, but buyers also value the certainty of delivery and customer service more than the potential savings. We shall see how this 31A order turns out for those of us who are still waiting, but in my opinion, I don’t think they should be on the MWF “white list” of web shops anymore.

Hi guys I was starting to fiddle with the VF-25F renewal when all of a sudden this piece dropped out (or at least I am hoping that it’s not broken). I was like holy crap, and for the life of me can’t figure out where it should go. I watched some of Jenius’ transformation guides but the transformation was so quick and smooth in his vids, I had no clue what I did wrong LOL. So is it broken or can I put it back, if so where should it go? Thanks much!

Thanks, I will have to watch the series to find out more. Tempted to get different packs for different variations instead of getting multiple packs for one fighter. And so the Pandora’s box opens... LOL -

Thanks Saburo, I have been a fan of your Macross shots for years and they are absolutely gorgeous!! Just realized the previous owner had the head mis-transformed and the head fin on mine is facing the wrong way. I wonder if that's why I have larger gaps than expected on the chest/back pieces in fighter mode. -
I hear you and I hope you will find one at a reasonable price for you soon. The prices of Valkyrie “toys” in recent years have really gone through the roof. I still have the email from HLJ in 2008 when I ordered the 1/48 Yamato VF-1S for 14,800 yen, and I already thought I was spending a ton of money on a toy. Unfortunately I think these prices will likely go up for future releases, and not only that, but we will continue to see ridiculous 5 minute pre order windows for the more popular releases. I keep beating myself up for not snagging more of the Yamato 1/60 VF-1 variations when they flooded the market about 10 years ago. So if the latest YF-21 is your dream valk, I hope you will find a way to get that at a reasonable price now instead of having to hunt one down years later at even more inflated prices. Good luck.

Thanks to all the recommendations and reviews, I finally bit the bullet and bought a used VF-25 renewal and armor set and it just arrived today in a big box. This is my first Bandai DX valk and it looks glorious. Can’t wait to transform this thing over the weekend and put that heavy armour on. I haven’t watched the series yet but can somebody educate me on the difference between the Tornado and Super parts sets?

I would hope so, but it is also true that we have not had any confirmed N-Y shipments of the 31A over the last week.

That was a very smart hedge, and I wish I had the insight to do that when I ordred the 31A (which was my first PO ever).
