I had the same issue with stress marks on top of the antenna. Haven't decided how I'm going to fix it yet, but I think @Mechapilot77's suggestion is a great one that appears to be the least intrusive.

I have my KO SSP on the VF-1A DYRL and think the parts are not that much different to the Focker DYRL set. The clear parts were great with the set - especially because I don't want to use these KO clear parts on the original SSP in case of tolerance issues, etc. IIRC I paid CNY 448 (USD 65) for the set (SSP including clear parts), plus CNY 320 (USD 46) in shipping (but that was the combined shipping charge with a KO MP Ultra Magnus). I thought it was a fairly good deal, if you can accept buying KO.

It’s 430 Yuan (62 USD) before international shipping. Shipping charge was CNY 190.5 (USD 28) so about $90 all-in. If showzstore has it at $130 shipped then considering the price hike on the valk itself (now 630 Yuan or $90 before shipping on taobao) then I would not bother going with TB.

I placed an order for a KO VF-1S on Taobao way back in April, wrongly thinking that they had one in stock. So today, I chased them one more time and apparently they have now sent it to the overseas distribution center. I will report back hopefully later this month.

YF-19 definitely because of the changes to the design from VF-19Adv, full set ordinance and arm cannon. The only marginal gain you get from the -31 Kai is extra tampo and 4 reaction missiles. You can get reaction missiles from the Jenius super pack or 31-S anyway.

No offense to any fans of the -31 design out there, but in a sense, I agree with what you said about the 31's "backpack", especially in Gerwalk mode. I have been struggling to think what it reminded me of... Personally, I'm ok with the fighter and battroid modes, but every time I look at a Gerwalk 31A/F, this just pops into my head.

I can't wait for the GBP pack to go with the DX VF-1J... this will be fifth in my collection (1/55, 1/48, 1/60 v2, HM-R) :D:D

My first valk was the Takatoku 1/55 GBP-1 and VF-1S bundle. Didn't buy another until the 2002 reissue, then got a 1/60 v.1 when I was working in Tokyo. The 1/48 1S and Super Strike parts came in 2009. Missed out on the 1/60 v.2 completely when they were abundant everywhere, some going for below MSRP.

While I was relieved to not have received a broken antenna, mine came with a not-so-smooth tip. Did anyone else have this problem? I’m hoping that a bit of TLC and fine sandpapering would fix this.

I have never owned any other versions of the VF/YF-19 but the DX YF-19's heels look better to me in Battroid mode. Not too bothered about it in fighter mode either.

LOL at the "ninja knock"... something very similar happened with mine when it arrived yesterday from USPS. It was 3pm, the postman (lady) didn't even bother bringing the box with her when she walked up to our door, and just had that orange "missed delivery" slip in hand, about to stick it to my door in a ninja like fashion. Fortunately our security camera rang when it detected motion near our door, and my wife went to answer it. That's when she reluctantly went back to the USPS mail truck and grabbed the box for us....

OMG I am soooo sorry to see that... it shouldn't have happened in a DX toy. I hope you can get to Bandai for a replacement part/fix if you're in Japan. Very sorry to see this happen.

I thought about that as well, but not sure if the plastic protective wrapper around the valk might dampen the sound of the tiny broken piece in the box.

I can’t remember - but the antenna tip wasn’t smooth and I was a little concerned if it had scratched as well. Let me double check tomorrow morning. Can you share a pic for yours? Thanks.

Unfortunately you will at least have to break the seals of the outer box to inspect the antenna. But the seals to the trays containing the valk and the missiles will still be there if you only wanted to check the antenna.

if only I had the CF 171's missile set and the MDE missiles... for now I would probably use the ordinance from YF-19 and VF-171Ex to deck out the 30 and 31A.

I still remember @spanner's three mode VF-31A display back in April/May when this was first released. That was a sight to behold.

I have to admit that I can never resist the temptation to open a new toy/valk when it arrives, as I am kinda new to collecting and have not planned on selling anything I have acquired so far. I think that this is one of the best looking valks out there today and if it were me, I would just keep it and be happy that you paid MSRP or below for this gem in the first place. Even if you don't intend to display it, you would not regret taking it out of the box and admire the jaw dropping gorgeous design and colour scheme of the 31A...

I think I'm gonna practice with the 31F and get completely familiar with every joint and tab before I even attempt to transform the 31A, LOL!
