Thanks for the early link! Got one via cheapest shipping method (2-3 weeks with tracking) for a total of 11917 Yen (although the cc payment was 95.89 EUR so a little bit of FX charge there). Never ordered from them before and while I do understand some folks had concerns with this company before, I’m happy to take a chance with them. It also helps to know you have had good experience with your last few orders.

That’s really nice. I thought someone said that the 31F fast pack doesn’t fit the 31A, or did you have to mod it somehow? Thanks! ps I have been using your -25S fighter mode photo for my phones wallpaper.. but this one is probably going up next...

CDJ antenna intact +1 although it has a little bit of stress mark on the top.

From what I can tell, I am not sure they have used the same mold for 100% of the pieces. There are parts with clear differences in shape. I am guessing that they may have gotten the molds for 95% of the parts and retooled the missing ones and made sure they fit together. Which is a good thing - these being easily distinguishable from the Yamato/Arcadia originals mean that people cannot pass these as orignals by box-swapping in the secondary market.
-
Tao bao prices have also skyrocketed from about $63 USD (preorder back in April or earlier) to the now $95 USD price before shipping, and with shipping to the US, it might get to about $110+. To me it does seem expensive at $110 for a KO, considering the lower quality finish (quite obvious in a few places) and the quality of the plastic used. I just wish they would do a -1A bootleg at $63 or less, and I think it will be rather popular for army building etc.
-
Thanks WaferMouse, that’s helpful to know it’s probably not a quality control issue and that these “flaws” seem to be consistent between KO copies. I even weighed the KO vs the Arcadia with no gunpod and the weight was only 1 gram off (Arcadia = 194 g, KO = 193 g)!

Mine also arrived today. Quick verdict: for about $80 including postage, this is not a bad KO copy for messing around when I can keep the genuine Arcadia copy in display. There are a few noticeable differences in tolerance and finish. I will just focus on these: 1. Leg fin parts do not line up well when they are not folded. Bigger gap than Arcadia or Yamato and the Fin feels slightly thicker. 2. Wheel doors on each leg do not close up flushly. This may be a tolerance thing or the parts just need massaging in 3. I can’t get the tabs that tab into the back of the legs in fighter mode to tab in properly. The alignment of the feet in F mode is a little off probably because of this. 4. HOW TO DISTINGUISH between a KO and genuine copy: look at the two pics of Battroid mode. The orange “lights” behind the shoulders are different in shape and colour tone. The KO one is lighter and the lights are slightly longer. 5. The red “sights” of the gunpod are different - KO has a mold line in this piece where the Arcadia is completely smooth and the red is brighter in colour. 6. Top down view of the shoulders show a little difference in the shape of the parts near the front hinge. KO is tapered and Arcadia has straight corners. 7. Wing tip lights in the KO has matte paint, Arcadia uses metallic paint for the red and blue. 8. The clear parts near the wing root are well aligned and flush in Arcadia’s copy. The KO clear parts are not installed very well and stick out

Oh crap that’s next Thursday morning 3am for us in East coast US... thanks for the heads up!

I think this standing pose of the full armor 31S will be *the* pose for the figure we will see 99% of the time in ads or displays. A bit like the EX-S Gundam’s standing pose with its beam rifle in “weightlifting” stance.

I have been trying to figure out how the radome folds up to the size of the mission pack in fighter mode. Do they slide into the middle bit to reduce in size and then somehow fold down 90 degrees?

Uh-oh, don’t give them ideas on the pilot with extra hands thing. Given this is Bandai, I can totally see them adding different standing pilot figures for the same set of hands... and we’ll be forced to buy like 5 sets of hands if you want the entire vermillion squadron plus focker and Miria etc...

Agree, and the missing shield as well I guess. I don't think it could be Eva (does not have the cat-back) or VF-27 either. But I am sure someone will click with an idea at some point and we will all go - ahh, that's it! soon enough.

Touch wood they don’t know about Arcadia’s “pink is the new white”.....

Agree with you and Jenius with your concerns about the TWE release for each of the option parts like missiles, hands, or super/strike packs. With the (relatively) low prices of each of these option parts sets, everyone and scalpers are going to race to get as many copies as they can on PO date and secondary prices will be MULTIPLES of MSRP. That is not cool.

Agreed and that was a much more elegant design (some say the -25S armor pack was inspired by the original stampede. Sure, the Stampede was heavily armed, but at least it didn’t need 5 stands to support all the kibble hanging out on almost every angle!

Haha that was from Stephen Chau’s “From Beijing with Love”, which was his comedy take on the Bond films. But the more I looked at it, the more it reminded me of this “Super Weapon”, LOL!

It looks like a combination of: a VF-25S full armor pack minus the back boosters; + the VF-171EX arm missile armor; + the VF-25 tornado back cannons; + two Gatling guns on each arm from FA unicorn; + (what seems to be the only original part) a new backpack booster unit with the ring like frame on the side?

I think you just spoke my mind - "slapdash cobbled together". Kinda reminds me of this:

finally, separate super and strike packs for the arm armour!
-
I like this armor pack and will sure be getting one, but it seems to be a bit of an overkill. The 25F/S armor pack had better balance between size and posability. With all the weight distribution issues, this won't be able to stand up on its own in Battroid mode, and will be a bitxh to pose.

A release date of March 2019 probably means Preorders should be up soon (maybe even after the Event = early November). I have the Arcadia VF-4 but will probably get one or two depending on the final price.

I have seen some bad cases of yellowing in Bandai's VF-25F renewal, for a relatively "new" valk. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d317337316

I would love it if Bandai did a VF-11 under the DX line. Don’t fancy parts swapping canopies in a HMR if I can help it. Oh and hopefully we won’t need to swap out the canopy in the HMR version of the VF-4 (perfect transformation)?
