Me too. Although I really don’t think it will be any time soon (not within the next 6-9 months). Agree. Given the tolerance issues that we have seen in a relatively simpler design of the VF-1, I remain a little skeptical that they can pull off a passable KO copy of the 31J.

The valk looks really, really nice. I’m more excited about this release than any other valks I have bought so far.

Thanks vlenhoff! i am hoping that two weeks into the release, there may still be some available in local stores or the likes of Mandarake, even if at a slight markup (25k yen range), but, I do save on EMS if I carry it with me so that may still be worthwhile.

As much as I hope they will do a 31A KO, Im not too sure that it’s a small number of different parts besides the head... from memory alone the two wings, the two missile bays, canards, chest fold crystal parts and the shape of the chest piece, and the crystals/lights on the nosecone are all different between the W-winged Siegfrieds and the 31A.

If they were on the pulse of the market, they should have pushed out the KO 31A first.. guaranteed massive demand.

I have one on preorder from amiami, but am still waiting for the payment request. If I’m going to be in Tokyo in mid Jan, what are the chances of finding one in the shops, I wonder?

The first time they did this was for the HMR Focker right? Damn shame that they're employing the same tactics again. What's the point in pre-ordering from them when at the end they come out more expensive than the other retailers?

KO may be bad news for a collector in terms of fake products flooding the second hand market, and competition with the after market sale prices, but in this case, these KOs are easily distinguishable from the real thing. So other than driving prices down, I think they will serve an area in the market where prices have been really prohibitive before and now a 90% KO copy is available for a fraction of the cost of Arcadia's PF.

I agree in the case of the standalone VF-1S Roy Focker, especially at their current inflated prices. But the premium finish Hikaru VF-1S with SSP does seem to be a good deal IMO, even with all the flaws of the KO as identified. For a second hand 1/60 v2 VF-1 with SSP but no PF, I can't find anything priced below the KO. Admittedly, while I'm not 100% fan of the KO because of the quality issues many of us have identified, I would still buy one if I had not already purchased the KO Focker and SSP already.

Thank you for the link. I didn’t stay up at all (EST) and just woke up. Decided to take a risk with NY on just one set. Their shipping was not cheap though. 4490 yen + ECO shipping 1740 yen = 6190 yen all in, pay up front.

Agree and I think the intention was to show an amateur handling a DX Valkyrie's transformation for the first time. Personally I'm not too mesmerized by her looks though.

That valk looks gorgeous in the video. I can't wait to get it and do a side-by-side comparison with the Yamato 1/48 and 1/60 v2. Bandai please hurry up and release the GBP armour already!!

He had the correct shade of white on the VF-1S and also a grey jumpsuit Roy! I would totally buy a TV version of that valk in a heartbeat... Speaking of which, I really wish I can find a TV Roy 1/60 VF-1S in the market that isn’t bright pink... well I exaggerate but you know what I mean LOL.

Haha, I didn’t actually... I asked because I spotted the grey jumpsuit focker pilot figure in the VF-1S. I never owned any of the old Hi-metal (note: not “R”) releases and so was curious that they had a TV version focker.

I watched a lot of his reviews of KO masterpiece transformers before I got into collecting Macross figures. I missed his side by side comparisons between the KO and the original in this video, and really wished he had an Arcadia PF VF-1S to compare with.
