WOW.. i really hope this is true.. so if its in 1/60 scale.. will it be roughly the size of our beloved 1/48 vf-1? this has definitely been an exciting year for macross goodies

I wonder how sturdy/strong the equivalent bp8 backpack hinge is.. hopefully its much better than our beloved 1/48's

I for one think rumble looks pretty good.. Athough, i think it's kinda early to judge based on just walmart's pics.. They are notorious for maltransformed transformers (ala meister, skids, etc..) and plus, it doesnt help that they dont place the figures in great poses either.. I have a strong hunch this guys gonna look great when he's in your hands.

damn.. i'm so excited about this valk. 55 pages of talk about it and its not even out yet!

oh yea.. that Stealth 1J is looking mighty tasty.. for some odd reason i'm digging the jungle camo too.. gonna get both.. didnt like the original yam stands in the first place.. and plating them isnt gonna help.

1) In a steady relationship for a little more than 4 yrs.. Along with school loans and macross.. I am up to my eyeballs in debt that I have to start paying off when I graduate this May as an MD. It's like having a mortgage but no house. 2) Not a completist.. in terms of just yamato, own 1 of each 1/72 and 1/48 except the original hikaru 1A.. but just recently picked an extra roy 1S and hikaru 1J for some gbp goodness.. going to snag 2 0S' hopefully.. passed on the 1/60 line but did pick up a 1/100 monster 3) Considering my huge debt, I figure a couple valk's here and there as drops in the proverbial bucket. I know its going to come back and bite me in the ass later on, but hey, I'm happy. Macross and the opposite sex are my only 2 vices in life.

I think its lookin' uber good. Gonna get at least two of these babies. Just in case they decide to make the reactive armor for it as well. Can't wait. These guys are coming with FAST packs included right?

Just got mine on saturday. This set is awesome. Oh soo good i bought another set and a Roy 1S to put it on. Thanks guys for the heads up on the chest missile holder thing. I know I would have definitely busted it if I didnt know ahead of time. My only gripe about the set is that the little grey piece that fits behind the valk's head (the one similar to the piece that comes with the super parts), that helps hold the backpack to the torso, does not fit no matter how hard I try. Anyone else with the same problem? The next thing is the little missle covers on the back of the leg armors do not click and stay closed. Well, they do but just that they open up again constantly when handling the valk. No problem I guess if I'm just going to display it. Otherwise, this thing is the bomb! The new ultimate macross toy. (hard to call it a "toy" considering spending 250+ for the valk and armor)

Finishing up medical school in Philadelphia this May. Hope to match back home in SoCal for training this summer and start chipping away at this massive debt. Wish me luck.

I agree that we are waay overdue for Yamato to make a battlepod for us.. wouldnt be too hard right?.. no transformation or anything.. just a nice pod for our valks to destroy. Is that too much to ask? but yea.. congrats on a great sale

Count me in for the side covers.. i agree with datterboy that the hands are too big for un-armored valks.. include me in for the hands if they can shrunkened.

Great review Datterboy, you hit all the major points. I just got mine the other day as well. Very impressed with the toy overall. Very hefty and makes me feel that I actually bought something substantial. The book packaging is awesome too for those who like to keep things in box. I like how the front and back covers open to reveal the lions inside. Though the posability is what made me take the plunge into buying it and I think it satisfies as a modern update to the classic, similar to what I feel about the 1/48 valks, binaltech and MP-OP. The lack of hidden goodies and accessories dont matter much to me. I also have the trendmaster re-issue and keep the extra stuff in the box (and who actually shoots out the heads more than once, anyway?). I like my Voltron combined and menacingly posed. It now replaces the old one and stands on a shelf alongside only my 1/3000 MB SDF-1 and Takara MP-OP as the Holy Trinity of my childhood TV. I think its a great toy and a must buy for Voltron fans. I would definitely sweep one up if you find a deal somewhere. Who knows if/when another voltron toy will be made?

oh yea.. they can survive a good fall.. was in an argument with my gf once where she "accidentally" knocked my roy VF-1S ver. 1 in battroid off my desk.. fell a good 3 feet before landing hard on the ground.. i swear it was like slow motion when i tried to catch it.. miracle that nothing happened to it.. nothing broken.. phew.. still get jittery thinking about it.. we're still together tho.. its hard to break up with hot chicks.. but i'm sure there's far worse stories out there where the 1/48's have survived without a scratch..

would have to agree with jenius on the yf-19.. i got the 1.0 new way back in the day.. which i transformed ONCE.. and very carefully at that.. and got mini paint chips off the red chest tabs.. luckily no tab B problems.. left it in battroid and swore never to transform it again.. been happy ever since..

Ah crap.. Looks like the BTA line is gonna be pricey.. being packaged in bot mode and with bigger boxes.. looks nice tho.. wonder how expensive they'll eventually be for ppl in the US.. Sunstreaker and Alert look awesome.. but those toy chicks are killing me.. why Takara?

does anyone know if any of these new binaltech asteriks will eventually turn into alternators?.. and also.. are these females drivers all new characters or are they from some other existing show?

hey all, longtime lurker but first-time poster here.. just had to join to say that this thing looks simply amazing.. WOW.. i've been a huge fan of macross toys for years and especially the joke machines and this just takes it to a whole new level.. if its not too late Rohby.. please put me on the list for 1 set.. thanks. and now that i've finally joined MW.. looks like all my free time will be down the drain..
