Guess I happen to be one of the someones. I have one each of the 1/48s released and pre-ordered 3 FPs for Skull Squadron (which are on the way from BBTS.com, yipee!) Hikaru's 1S and its Fps are also on pre-order. I plan on using the TV FPs, which will be grey) on my Low-Vis. None of my valks will be nekkid as long as Yamato provides the armor accesories.

That would be so SWEET! Even more 1A heads. :groans from non-1A fans:
-
Now that's what I'm talking about. Either 1/60 or 1/48 19s will be appreciated. No 1/72 anything for me, including Macross Zero. Yamato should definately reconsider their 1/72 projects.
-
Just call'em CMs. I still enjoy 'em, come on it's The Original Valk. I got all the reissues, 4x Super 1S and might get another. And like most CM lovers, still waiting for the reissues of the last four, Hikaru 1S Strike, VT-1, VE-1, and GBP-1S armor. -No cricket sounds around here. <_<- Maybe it's for the 1/60 line?
-
What? Blasphemy! We don't take kindly to that around here! j/k Anyway, I'm hoping that Yamato will eventually release all the 1/48 VF-1 varients, since I completely skipped the 1/60 line. Remember guys that Graham said the surprises are coming in Spring of '04, so start saving up.

Since I was going for a realistic look, I just used a No. 2 pencil for my Skull squad. I recommend sharpening the tip after every limb that you finish.
-
I would definately not mind a complete set of 1/60 destroids. A cool gimmick like light up searchlights could be used on the Defender, Phalanx and Tomahawk (sorry Spartan) using "button" batteries.
-
That's my thinking. I get the Takara releases to open and enjoy their accuracy to the originals. And I buy the Hasbro releases for the retro art of the boxes, to keep sealed.

I got him yesterday at the La Cienega Target, only one there and it even wasn't in the TF section, it was hiding out with the educational toys. I guess Uni was workin' on his GED. I will be using a grey Gundam marker for the panel lines. Is anybody planning a recast of the right hand? I don't want to spray it grey cuz it'll begin to chip with use.

I think the TV FAST packs (they'll be grey) will look better on the low-vis, I just hope the FPs are sold by themselves like the DYRL FPs.

Thanks for the updates, VHD. Sure brings back pleasant memories of repeated viewings on HBO. I just wish the dvd had an isolated music score. Anyway, keep up the great work, just give us plenty o' pics when you complete the MiG.

What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.
mechatek replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
You just have to watch what you're doing when folding up the backpack. In battroid mode, make sure the "pointy thingie" is in the down position, push in the back hatch, and what I think is the most important is to always move the bottom hinge first (the one inside the backpack) and then the top hinge (the one attached to the back plate). Also, I've always used the clip to hold the backpack in place on all my valks without stress marks. I think the FP boosters will not be a problem, unless they're made out of die-cast. -
I can't say it enough, Yamato bring them ALL on. The 1/48 line is not the ultimate line, you know it's the future 1/32 for the uber-fanatic.
-
I highly recommendTakatoys' stickers. I've used them on my three 1/48 DYRL valks and they look sweet.
-
BigBadToyStore.com is the place for me. I've gotten all my 1/48s and a couple of 1/55s from Joel. I have NEVER had a problem with the packaging or the actual toy within. My FPs have been on pre-order since first made available. I order from VE whenever I need a dvd or t-shirt. I bought my first two Bandai chunky monkies at the Frank & Son Collectible Show.
-
I remember a few 5 year olds opening the water works at the theater back in '86. Will be getting this Convoy, a.k.a. Prime.
-
For me the 1/48 is the standard line. The 1/60 VF-1x is the new chunky monkey. But I do agree with you, as I said in another thread, if a 1/60 YF-19 is produced instead of a 1/48 it would be big enough to allow for accuracy and uber-detail.
-
To me this just means we'll separate releases of the VF-1J and TV FPs in November. Remember Graham said all the surprises (GBP-1S) will come in Spring '04. I would probably get 2 or 3 sets of that GBP goodness, CF in GBP.

Macross Zero episode 3 street date (tentative)
mechatek replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Oh well, three more months of rewatching ep. 1 and 2 over and over. -
Me wantee my 1/48 M&M. Hopefully next year.
-
If it comes with FPs you can always wait for a CF and attach them to it. I voted for a lone valk. I think Yamato is releasing the 1/48 by themselves, note the forthcoming Hikaru 1S no FPs.
-
You know Yamato will probably produce a 1/48 YF-19, there are all those varients they can make $$$ from the same molds. Just like they're doing with the VF-1. I know it's gonna tower over the VF-1s, but that's just what I want. The Chunky Monkey is almost the same size as the 1/48, and the 19 would really stand out. I also wouldn't mind an 11 and 21. Isn't it the 10th anniversary for Mac+ next year?
-
There's just something about the Tomahawk, the Monster is a close second. Still waiting for the Yamato 1/60 destroids annoucement.
-
One can get a recast S head, paint it in Max's blue arrows and change the 013 to 001 on the right wing. But you never know Yamato might announce that they're releasing the Max 1S just when your custom paint job dries. That's a pretty noticeable gap on your S head, Ali Sama. Have you tried glueing it?

Muchas gracias, Graham. Is just me or does it look like this valk we've all been waiting for is missing some accessories? Some Strike Fast Pack accessories! B) Please beat that Yamato exec that wasn't keen with a "panel-line bat" until he submits. The lines look nifty on the Low-vis, it's mandatory on all future valks.
