The transformation certainly is complicated. I can see where this being geared toward kids would have problems. It's been an item I've not let near kids. Still, even as an adult, I'm quite careful with this. Perhaps it's just the one I've got but movements can be finicky and keeping certain elements in place isn't necessarily easy. It's certainly more of a display piece that happens to be able to transform than a toy.

I have three of those tiny Gakken Cyclones. They're pretty much crap. The larger one is good but I'm pretty careful with it as it seems a finicky piece. I'd love to pick up an MPC cyclone but for now the priority is a Beta, then possibly a Blowsuperior. If I can find them cheap enough, some of the variable Cyclone models are also on the list as the eldest little one has been having fun putting together the Gundam models I got for my birthday in the 90's (but never bothered to put together). Sadly, even at the cheap prices I've seen for some of them, I get to wait As to the comments about Robotech.com, it's not only sad in the shopping area. The forums have gotten pretty damn quiet as well. I admit, I haven't been poking in very often to avoid encouraging my Toy Acquisition Syndrome but wow it's a ghost town now.

You know a 1/48 VE-1 would be awesomeness. I'll settle for the 1/55 chunky monkeys though.

Bandai. I want a 1/55 VT-1 and VE-1 if I can't get 1/48 versions

The Gakkens are definitely awesome. I've got a green one and would eventually like to get others. Sadly, finances have been limited so toy purchases have been pretty heavily limited. Right now, I'm concentrating on picking up a blue Beta.

I'm sure it helped his cross-dressing career out a bit.

Poll- Which Macross/Robotech mecha would you like to see

The Hovertank and Invid would be quite awesome. -
Clock radio/alarm, phone, lamp. I read plenty of books but none of my reading in the past several years (outside school) has been done at home.

Southern Cross VS. The Zentradi? (A Robotech "what if. . . ?)
niomosy replied to DARKWIND's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You can't really do much about the Minmei thing given splicing separate series together. That said, you might argue that the expedition took most of the ships leaving earth a smaller defense force more to deal with Zentraedi cleanup work than a major force coming in from elsewhere. They weren't expecting much of a fight on the home front. The whole idea was to go to the Robotech Masters' home world and bring the fight to them. As it turns out, the Masters had the same idea. Earth did have some limited capacity for getting their individual craft into space but let's face it, they were using 80's style shuttles and throwing Hovertanks into space. Some capital ships did eventually make it back but that took a long while. Meanwhile, the space factory was elsewhere in a safe spot and probably focused on cranking out stuff for the expedition, not for Earth. -
I recall watching Space Hunter and Yor several times as a kid. Actually, I've probably watched Space Hunter bits and pieces a bunch of times. Space Hunter was fun. Yor? Wow. A good really bad movie. Back to the topic, Krull was great. Saw it a few years ago when we had some family over for a party. Fun movie. I'm still mad that the guy just left the boomerang in that thing's neck. It didn't look that stuck

Not bad. I still don't have a blue one so it gets priority. I guess it's what I get for being poor enough to not even try keeping up with toy news Now to convince the wife to let me spend $350 for an item shipped from some eBayer from Hong Kong or Singapore... She'll give me that look and I'll just go back to hoping Toynami gets around to putting one out that isn't a part of a pricey combo and can be had reasonably easily
-
It's not that it's necessarily bad, it's just bad for the suggested price. If the price and setup remain as is, interest and sales will likely remain low. There's plenty of other worthy things to do with that amount of money.

Nope, specially, look at the connecting latch on that one vs. this one. I'd have a hard time believing that CM would go and switch from what appears to be a superior connector to an inferior one. As others have said, that looks like the Toynami Beta/Tread.

Nah. The 1/60 has the best Gerwalk IMO. 407099 I could see the 1/48. The 1/60's Gerwalk is one of the least impressive.

Considering the list of PSP games available that I'd actually want to play, emulation would be my primary reason for getting one. I have a friend that picked one up when they first came out. The only use he has for it is emulators. -
$60 isn't too bad. It's certainly more tempting than at $80.
-
So, no real news, then? Really, I don't think anyone was surprised by this. We'd all expected it to get pushed off. It just wouldn't be the same if it wasn't delayed
-
The 1/60's are definitely odd beasts. Bought a 1/60 DYRL Max while in Tokyo since it was a good deal but, after playing with it, wasn't going to bother getting anymore... except that the Elint and Ostrich came out. Might snag the GBP-1 just to throw on Max.

Primus is one I'd gladly make room for
-
I'll get at least one Beta. Possibly two so I can have one connected to the Alpha and one stand-alone. That'll probably mean picking up another blue Alpha just to have a stand-alone as well.
-
I may have to pick up Mirage. It'd be my first Binal/Alternator as money's been going elsewhere for a while now. I'm glad the Prime truck was scrapped. That thing looks awful!

I'm not surprised, look at what that man did to the Virtual Boy? He killed console VR and lost Nintendo one of their best hardware and software developers. I was under the impression that Yamauchi wasn't exactly involved with teh VB either. Way I heard it, the VB was Yokoi's pet project, and he was allowed to do whatver the hell he pleased with it just because he was Gunpei Yokoi. Actually, as I understand it, Yamauchi had very little to do with the nuts and bolts of the operation as a whole, and just ran the corporate side with an unparalleled ruthlessness. Closest he got to the guts was something like playing Super Mario for 5 minutes once. You want to know who killed console VR? Everyone that said "OMG RED GAMEBOY" when the screenshots came out, and refused to even try it. 339740 There were plenty enough of us that tried the Virtual Boy and thought it sucked Come to think of it, I've never talked to anyone that actually liked it.

Given that this is Toynami, I'd have to say that we won't see it for a while still. I'm fully expecting it to be about another year or so. Possibly longer if they have to keep changing things up. That's good! With all of the good stuff that's coming out (1/48 CF, SOC VOLTES, 1/48 GBP,etc...), I'm gonna need time to save up for the BETA ! 312239 Crap, I forgot about the 1/48 GBP. That means I'll finally need to pick up a 1/48 and get the GBP plus the Beta. I guess I'll be saving less for that 7-str bass than I was hoping
