@Big s That reminds me of scouring the swap meet as a kid for anything Macross related! Although back then I only knew it as ********. My only exposure to the kits was seeing the revell branded versions at my local drug store. I would buy them with my aluminum can money and use krazy glue to put them together. The canopies and clear parts would get all hazed from the glue. I never painted them either. Even though the result was pretty crappy looking, I have fond memories of building and playing with these early valk kits. As far as the pics that @Shawn just posted, those are rookie numbers that kid has stacked there! My backlog is scary big!

Good God, that is beautiful! Absolutely nailed it! Nothing is too over/underdone. All the little details are perfectly executed. You've set the bar higher for us builders. Thanks for sharing.
-
I can see that. Regardless, it's a great scheme.
-
@Urashiman This is the scheme! Do this one. If you don't then it'll force me to do it and I just don't have the time!

This is my exact list as well.

I just noticed that they're releasing a Max version battroid to pair up with the Q-Rau. Pretty cool! Maybe they'll release a TV version pair down the road and we can recreate this scene.
-
A Q-Rau! Big news!!! I wonder if the parts breakdown will account for a SDFM version down the road. Or maybe they'll just ignore the differences and give us an uncorrected SDFM repaint.

@MechTech I am absolutely in awe after seeing you make those tiny gears from scratch. A real marvel of engineering. You never cease to amaze me with your next level skills. @Chas The 1S is looking good so far! The decaling looks good so far.

This is what I was talking about. I didn't have time to post it. https://twitter.com/TENJIN_hidetaka/status/1697229910031602059

If you follow Tenjin's Twitter/X account, he posted the boxart featuring the Gnerl in the background. Someone commented about it and he hinted that it may be a possible future offering. Take it with a grain of salt because I was reading it through the automated English translation.

They probably think it will be a shelf warmer. I dunno if they would make a profit.

I'm trying to decide whether to hold out for the MegaHouse reissue or to just get the Hi-Metal version now. Can anyone that has seen both in person chime in? I'm wondering how the size/cost and quality/cost ratios between the two compare.

Wow, I followed the link and it hurts my brain to look at those pictures. Pretty cool concept. It really fools the eye into thinking it's an animated picture. Thanks for posting that! -
@Perxion The print looks crisp and clean with well defined details. It's gonna look great all painted.

I am VERY tempted to pull the trigger on this one but I can't justify the price tag for a tiny 17 cm tall figure. I'm going back and forth on this one. If it's still available tomorrow, I'm afraid I may cave in and get it. It looks great.

I agree with @MechTech. The updates are awesome and I get really happy when I see all that plastic Macross goodness piled up high. @Shawn, I wish I could have flown in with you guys to see it all in person. I picked up a five-pack and can't wait to build a proper SDFM TV squadron as soon as I get my workbench unpacked and going again.

Beautiful work! The paint, the decal work, everything, you nailed it!
-
Amazing! Those look really good! Are you going to do a hangar diorama?
-
Thanks for the heads up!

I'm obsessed with this card set. I have two copies but I wouldn't mind finding a mint set like the one you have. I would like to build a framed display for them.

@Goodman Models Congratulations! Well deserved!

Just a rough estimate based on the scale and proportions, I'm guessing around 2400 cal or thereabouts. It definitely looks out of scale. -
@Urashiman Great work on the cat! To bad about the panel lining. Murphy's Law often strikes the scale modeler but we keep on truckin.
-
It looks good but the head placement reminds me of a kid that steals the family car but can barely see over the dashboard.
