  1. Wow, all that robot detail looks freaking fantastic!! You'll probably have to panel line some of it to bring it out (but it sure will be worth the time). I like how even the guns have a special mechanism so you don't have to stick them manually to the arms. Don’t know if the teeth face has been scraped, but the smart-ass evil smirk face fits perfectly this double-crossing artificial bastard . One thing though, Starscream design makes it difficult to have any waist movement. Any ideas how they could solve that? The seat looks like it folds or something so maybe it has something to do with the waist.
  2. Looking good. Now if this thing comes with a stand like it says in Amenbo this thing will be double great. Go Kawamori magic!
  3. Nice! If the tiny THS-02 can strike so many poses and transform imagine what Kawamori can do with 30 cm of room to work with. Hope he supervises a lot. That listing says 9800 Yen for MP SC, was MP Convoy priced similarly?
  4. Well, finally finished seeing Macross II (8 years isn't much, right). This thread rekindled the interest in MII and I have to say I'm happy. Not the best Macross I've seen but overall fairly good story that kept my interest until the end. The ending felt a bit rushed and was a little anticlimactic but served is purpose (too bad the story had to be kept short ). The theme with journalism and the search for the truth, hard as it may be, was my favourite part. Things like how the Marduk had a tendency for the “you don’t think like us then you where manipulated†way of thinking where nice continuation of this theme. In the end I felt it could have been more tied to the ending though, like not just having Ishtar speak to her people but have Hibiki support that with images of Earth culture in contrast to what the Marduk do (the showing both sides view to find the truth Dennis speaks of). Ingues could still have blown everybody up to help screw his own view on the subject in the eyes of the Marduk. On the DYRL? thing I have to say that MII has enough elements to be considered a stand alone piece. Some elements are shared "impossible odds - bad guys change side - we win" but that wasn't created by DYRL? and follows old archetypes that have been seen thousands of times before. If anything, you can appreciate how too different roads lead to the same need for Earth to use the thing that makes it unique to survive rather that just a big gun: it's culture. The UNSpacy have degraded their culture, which saved their bacon last time, to a mere weapon (very close to what the Marduk do) and make the error to think that this is the ultimate weapon because they narrowly think that culture is impossible for others to achieve. Sharing culture as oppose to using it as a way to negate the other is what saves the day.
  5. Ditto (specially on that last sentence). I can see what DT says. From the posters point of view, there are certain things that you don't know if they can be posted or not seeing as the section has stuff that really stretches the "Anime & Science Fiction" name (the gun and automotive threads for example). People who want, lets say a basketball thread, could make a poll in the feedback section and if enough people vote for it the mods could create it in the "Anime & Science Fiction" section labelling it "Official MW sanctioned Bball discussion thread" or something similar. It could also be renamed "NonMacross-Geekness related geek discussion"
  6. Well, the original street clothes designs didn't radiate "I'm a super hero". They looked like what some people of that age called punks.
  7. Thanks for the clarifications regarding BW guys. Personally the only thing that bothered me a bit about the designs was the heavy cartoon magic in some of the transformations (but G1 had even more and I didn't notice it as a kid). I dug the hole animal disguises when I saw the first toy commercial (where Optimus was a bat). And speaking of toys I just got my THS-02 Prime. Even after seeing all the pics I was surprised by the small size. At first I didn't care at all for the trailer but once I had it in my hands I was blown away. It's so small and has such good gimmicks... The bad thing was that the toys left arm could not transform because the plastic was fused. After using a hobby knife I fixed it but couldn't prevent stress marks appearing on the plastic As others have said, truck mode isn't easy to secure and once you get it to look good turning back to robot means you have to apply force on some delicate parts. But anyways this thing looks great in robot mode and truck mode is just so cute.
  8. The IMDB doesn't say if they are aiming for the R rating like the other article does but eitherway you have to give credit to this guys. They are shooting stuff on purpose to up things for the fans (which is only so they can make more money but it's appreciated they want to deliver what the title promises). Imagine the people responsible for Doom or Alien vs Predator wanting to deliver what those titles promised to the fans...
  9. After Beast Wars third season they changed the name to Transmetals something, right? Is that series decent? I read the plot and some of the character seamed wrong (and I also read the series wasn't a fit continuation of BW). I'm rewatching BW (had forgotten how good the character development was). I only saw the first season when it first aired but it seams that the other two seasons where even better (from what I hear).
  10. This stories remind me so much of a "Clerks" comic by Kevin Smith. In order to have the rare SW figures in their store they had to suck up (almost literally) to a TRU like employee during the nights of the deliveries. Scalpers galore, a TRU guy worshiped like a god and plenty of laughs... yet now I see the comic didn't exaggerate so much. Clerks: the Comic Book

    I Need Help!!!

I had a blast building my PG Strike (but I did it slooowly, building a leg and then thinking about doing the next right away could make you feel sick). The Rouge has been out for some time now but I think the color isn't very popular so I think it will still be available in the near future.

    I Need Help!!!

PG's have more articulation and a very detailed armour and inner frame, more parts (a lo more), moving armour plates and have special gimmicks (like how the eyes light up). Recent MG are very well engineered (were I to get a Zeta Gundam I would get the MG ver2.0and not the PG for example). I have the PG Strike Gundam and I'm very pleased with it. It's just incredible: very tight joints, lots of moving parts, great detail on everything. I also have the MG Gundam MKII ver2.0; it’s moving leg armour is based out of the PG’s but you can tell it ain't the same (you could say it feels more cheap when compared to the heavy PG). Check here to see TONS of pics of all the released MG and PG models: Dalong (It's in Korean but you can easily navigate it. Check the MG and PG galleries).
  13. B:TAS was the series that made me like Batman. All the stories with gangsters and non-super villains were very good and the overall atmosphere was so unique that made it stand out from everything else. Remember the Konami SNES videogame about the series? That thing followed really close some of the episodes and had gorgeous graphics.
  14. Just got back from vacationing and the new icons where a neat surprise. Great job JsARCLIGHT!
  15. Thanks for the pics and comments zeo, now I can appreciate how tiny Prime is. Looks like I wont be disappointed with my THS-02. Thanks to F360º $3.47 discount code and finding one of the few sellers that had a "reasonable" price I got it for about $66 on ebay so I don't feel so much wallet raped.
  16. My brain says to wait for the 0D but my inner child wants the VF-0S now… must resist… One thing, could all this VF-1 variations like the low viz 2 and such that are going to be released pretty close together hurt the sales of the VF-0S (and thus the chances of a 0D becoming a reality)? People could pass down the Vf-0S and wait for a possible 0D and go for the VF-1 variants instead (or it could happen the other way and hurt any reissues of the VF-1...).
  17. If you mean "Third World War" then I know of a site that has it. Don't know if posting it goes against the forum rules so I'll PM you the link.
  18. Here's THS-02 Prime burning up the dance floor: (Original link came from 120kph of the SGCollect.com Forums)
  19. Good news indeed. How big would a Sazabi be, the size of a normal HGUC? With something so big they could make one sweet figure full of gimmicks.
  20. Same here. I even got a THS-02 Prime. Anybody know of a good place to order japanese Transformers stuff in Europe or is HLJ the best place? Can't wait for some picks of MP Starscream.
  21. You should bump the threads in the for sale section. They are on the second page now and people who don't read this thread might think that you've already sold them.
  22. It was a special exclusive in Japan.
  23. The kites are really nice but the other icons are just too complex. Seeing so many repeated complex images distracts the eye. Looks like the crossbones is going to be assigned to locked threads so that should fix it (we don't see many locked threads so it won't clutter the view). Maybe the Minmay could go for the pinned threads. Also: Lets not listen to flamebaits that want to create childish rivalries. I really like this site and Graham and crew do a good job here. Sometimes I may not agree with what the mods do but overall things run very well here (at least in my opinion). I’ll also follow the different things MNexus has to offer the same way I check all the different sites that I like about a specific subject.
  24. The Dark Age… Had the Matchbox Phalanx, Glaug, and a red Bioroid. Always wanted the VF (didn’t know it couldn’t transform at the time and that it was chunky as hell). Took them apart a few times (I had this crazy believe that I would find the cockpit in the bioroid and the Phalanx). Only valk I had was a small bootleg. Don’t know what it was modelled after (didn’t look like the 1/55). It could almost fit in the cockpit of the Glaug and didn’t have a swing bar but could fully transform into all three modes (kinda): The piece where the legs where fixed (a white square thing) swung and locked itself below the nose (if I remember correctly); the tail wings of the fighter mode folded to the legs and the whole back didn’t fold up, it stayed fixed on all three modes. Don’t know if it was a Jet Fire bootleg or what, but it was sure fun and haven't seen one like it since.
  25. I like it. It gives the Forum a more unique look. Good job >EXO< and Roy.
