    Saw the inxspro preorder before it ended but they wanted payment out-front so I passed. In this particular piece I won't pay until I have 100% guarantee they have it in stock ready to ship. Too much 171 flying around and Paypal and Ebay won’t cover a release that is months away. Right now I have it preordered on TFH and nippon-yasan. TFH asks for a deposit on orders but on this one I got an email saying that they weren't going to do it with the 171 since they didn't know if they were going to be able to fulfil my preorder. Found that to be very honest from their part (and a sign that there is truly a shortage of these things). TFH is from Singapore, so I guess that stores outside Japan have it harder to get many units. Nippon-yasan says it’s from Japan but I’ve read that the communication is very silent/nonexistent with them. To see so many available on Yahoo Auctions makes me even pickier. Yahoo has been filled with 171 since the pre-order came out almost a month ago. How many of those orders are actually going to get filled?

    Awesome stuff. Really like the centaur combinations and the planes look cool in robot mode. Had this hit when I was a kid, i would have been in toy Nirvana.

    I’m having a great time reading the Horus Heresy books. "Legion", "First Heretic" and "Know no fear" have been very good. If you know a bit about the Warhammer 40k background they are nice reads. Sorry that it is not high brow stuff but my capacity to concentrate has degraded a lot with my three year old running around the house… Since he started walking things have gone down hill faster and faster LOL

    Finally! Hope the CF doesn't end up as an exclusive. Conspiracy time: could the almost non existent promotion of the 17 by Yamato be related to them not wanting Bandai to get ideas for the transformation? Or could Bandai been waiting to see the sales of the 17 and their own renewal valks before hitting the print button on this one (that release date is just 3+ months away)? The Yamato vs Bandai wars could have a new battle brewing (but remember: one is chunky and the other is the skinny cousin with a nose job LOL).

    If they offer us the wonderful opportunity to only make the toy look anime accurate by ourselves, then why give us stickers that you have to cut to size to look decent? If this was a “for those that want to customize” thing they would include decent quality decals along with their stickers. Right now it looks like a half assed time cutting decision. And why not paint the intake detail? The kai has it. Isn’t that going against what you establish before in the same line?

    Just a dumb question. Took my Bandai out the other day and when transforming it I left that undone and said "hehe, now the front looks like a Vf-1".

    Can you leave the chest looking like a VF-1 like you can with the Bandai 17 when you don't move the cockpit?

    They could have at least told you a little lie and say the classic "Kawamori wanted it like that". They come off cocky and random with what they say. The hand covers are a (crappy) last minute surprise. Freaking ancient Bandai looks like that... must be a "homage"

    Toy but if the "kit" was plastic like the unasembled VF-1, I would also dig it. That said, whatever this ends up being, it better sell A LOT or every other design that yamato does in the future that is not a VF-1, 19 or 25 will never be or will surely be a HDP/resin kit. The future of Yamato Macross toys right now as I smell it: V2,3,4... for their best sellers and web exclusives for the obscure stuff.

    Anybody else feeling a bit "meh" with their Bandai Monster? Thinking of selling mine. Haven't transformed it since I put it "gerwalk" and don't feel like doing it.

    Ok, so the final version does lack tampo symbols and intake lines... Well... not in a hurry to get this so I'm cancelling. I paid full price for the Gamlin VF-22 and that ended up having a different colour than the one on the box and lacked the tampo stripes on the tail fins that the box showed and later the Max and Millia did have. Now it's on a very heavy discount.... I'm more patient now and have enough Yamato first releases under my belt to play the "wait for the discount" game with a clear conscious. Lets also see what the bundles offer.

    When they do the new YF-19, I bet it will be a wide release. The VF-1 and the YF-19 are Yamatos best sellers and the only ones with noncanon schemes.
