The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread

Lol, Cool! Really loving that grey: http://photozou.jp/p...795609?size=450 Could FP be taking a risk with that carrier mode? Many TF fans aren’t anime fans much less up to date with stuff like the Macross Quarter or even the Gundam carriers to get (and appreciate) the reference. Another happy news; new Herc stop motion by the same guy as the last one:- 9240 replies

Ooooooooh! It certainly would be cool, but doesn't the 2019 Blade Runner look more futuristic or at least on a very close level to the 2089 Prometheus? -

I’m beginning to think that they just butchered Leader Jetfire; the torso “box” just screams reused electrobic box to hide the big head and the parts that made Jetfires head are the ones they waste to make the gun… one of the most hated Leader toys actually has more engineering than the electronics free Silverbolt… I have the TFC Herc and I must say that so far Uranus falls short compared to it. Herc was a huge and ambitious gamble that ended up producing a very well engineered an imposing display piece. The Maketoys version stole a lot of Herc’s thunder due to price and also a great aesthetic (I have the yellow one) but the TFC went farther by making working alt modes (working pistons, cranes…) that turned into very nice bots and also formed a very solid gigantic robot. The six parts housed ALL the transforming parts (only partsforming were the hands and the later added chest shield). The rage set does look very good on, but the use of the treads as the lower arms of the initial design showed great interest in making something more complex. The engineering seen in Herc is nowhere to be found in that Silverbolt. All I see is lazy, lazy, lazy. The first bots showed promise but the hand and foot sure can’t be stored in vehicle mode like the Herc hands can. So far there in no sign of integrating them in the vehicles like Fansproyect did with their Bruticus parts either. In short: so far this looks like it was made by someone else other than the people behind Herc.- 9240 replies

I really can’t get pass the huge gun… HALF the length of the plane forms it… Why the hell make a sixth member (based on an ugly drone plane nobody knows) when you already have a huge chunk of mass that is perfect to make an angular chestplate? You even have enough mass left to hide the head there instead of making a huge hole in the chest. There wouldn’t even be any partsforming that way. I want to see engineering and not a simple transformation in this overpriced things. Need to be blown away by the combined form because the engineering really sucks compared to what other 3rd party people are doing.- 9240 replies

Look at those sneaky bastards trying to use a brick colored background to have it not stand out so much. You can’t fool us TCF! The Black Arachnia is still in proto colors and it isn’t even on preorder but I’m sure I want it. Almost the complete opposite of what I’m experiencing with Uranus… guess this answers my doubts about it.- 9240 replies

"Hello, I'm Kitetron McKibblebird" Plane mode is ass. That is for sure. It truly is a shame they didn't use the XB-70. I get that the engines of the Blackbird look cool in the back of Uranus but that plane mode is just awful. Still, if I get this it will be displayed in combined form pretty much all the time so as long as it looks cool combined I might still get it... Will McKibblebird come with the mysterious "sixth member”? Really getting tired of the “blurry sneak peek” thing. Someone did a fast photoshop of the combined form: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-3rd-party-discussion/598199-new-tfctoys-project-uranos-mega-thread-316.html#post8371790 Since Uranus has “less” members it should be $500 (or maybe a bit more for the chest bot) instead of the $600 of Herc. Still a lot of money… But since the other two planes will look very similar I might just get body+1arm+1leg and leave it at that; $300 sounds better for my wallet. Some old Energon combiner toys might balance the thing out. Would just need to display it in a 3/4 pose.- 9240 replies

I must say i was passing on these but that pic makes me rethink. And when I see the arm mode pic my will crumbles a bit more: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-3rd-party-discussion/598199-new-tfctoys-project-uranus-mega-thread-281.html#post8360181 I still need to see the Blackbist kibble bot and the final combined look. The Perfect Effect Black Arachnia bike looks really hot and is on my “to buy list” before Uranus right now. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/3rd-party-unlicensed-41/perfect-effect-update-pe-dx02-and-pa-01-176006/- 9240 replies

.... I liked the green better.Made the thing pop out. The half Decepticon scheme gets eaten up by all the white: The cool contrast between black and pulple gets lost next to the white and just becomes a solid mass of dark. Also miss the orange-ish finish.... Ami-ami has the new pics in all modes and in big size: http://www.amiami.co...T-2516&page=top

I'm open to new interpretations of old movies. If they say "remake" I want it to look something other than like a sequel, a remastering or rehash. Like the helmet, rest is to much generic Iron-man. Needs contrast.

Does pre-ordering in another currency work for anything in NY? I pre-ordered in USD but I don't know the original Yen price to compare the exchange rate.

Finally saw the movie last week. I wasn’t hyped for it nor did I have high expectations. What I saw was a very enjoyable movie. The visuals and movie universe are fantastic. Good to see a movie made by people that actually know how to make quality work. Now for the script… good god were the characters stupid!!!!!! The douchy robot was great and I had fun with miss c-section and captain suicide but the rest were so stupid… The epitome was the “geologist” and the "whyisheevenhere?" glasses guy. They get scared of a mummy and then get lost running home… the freaking geologist that ONLY came there because he had his “hounds” to do the mapping work GOT LOST??!! After that, any other stupidity like petting giant alien worms didn’t surprise me. Zombie fight scene also felt like a useless action scene to trim down fodder. Fodder that wasn’t needed in the first place since it was only flat background characters. But I still really liked the movie. Proves that good filmmaking can make a $hit script work. One thing: during the whole movie I thought they landed on the same rock that the Nostromo landed on. Somehow liked the idea of the xenos being the product of hybrid combination kick-started by a vengeful/curious robot. From infected human-infected human pregnancy-engineer mouth rape-Nostromo guy mouth rape-to alien we all love and fear. But later I saw that the rock has a different name. It could still be a change in name made by Weyland corp… don’t know. I do want to see the sequels. That and what is the meaning of the fist scene with the suicide engineer? Is that Earth and the xenos is part of the human genome or something? Kinda glad they cut those scenes. They raise the dumbness in some characters. Guinea pig archaeologist turns even more whiny: “The definitive proof of sentient extraterrestrials existing… this SUCKS!!!!” -

I’m a bit special when it comes to colors. Feel like the Alto armor parts are too red when opened (red trim + red doors + red missiles) so I’m using the Ozma parts on the F for the contrast. Doors closed it doesn’t looks so hot. BUT I just noticed seeing some photos further back in this thread that the differences in the armor parts also include the brightness of the parts (and here I thought they were the same minus trim). The Ozma type is really dark (don’t like that much). Has anybody a pic of the Ozma with the Alto parts? As you can see, in my case, I’m not very strict with canon.

Any time I saw him appear on a movie I would smile. One of those actors you just like to hear and watch whatever character they are doing.

- Shoehorn historical and recent events without context to prove point about a super hero movie: check. - Missing the point and just pick on clichéd trope from movie to defend clichéd trope from other movie: check. - Throw backhanded national stereotype to diminish others opinion and defend previous "in depth" analysis: check. Yep, hit a nerve alright. Bye, bye! Extra Dr. Banner scene: http://screenrant.com/avengers-deleted-scene-bruce-banner/ Really like the idea but somehow execution feels a bit forced.

Well, I see his point. See, Nolan’s Batman voice cracked up the audience of the cinema I went to and the “ballistic” implications in the movie, like tens of perfectly lined cops charging machine gun equipped professional terrorists in a cramped street is certainly a joke. Lots of kids too on my showing (had to start early if I wanted to see Spidey next and expect to eat dinner). So, technically, your "in-depth" analysis can also apply to Batman... or Ghost Rider: Spitit of Vengance, to name another recent superhero movie. I personally consider Ghost Rider the funniest of the three

And here I thought asking for good looking asses would conjure up something OTHER than “Lolicon”. Feel dirty now, gotta get away from anime. Now, did Yamato ever get the license for Macross the First? Graham asked for interest on a MFirst Vf-1J. Cheapest way for them to make a SDF-1 with a Daedalus and company would be a “the first” version. Same old mold, just add cartoony colors and two easy to make ships.

Has anybody ever reflected on the power of the word “Robotech”? just a mention and *poof* condescending asses appear!! MAGIC!!! Maybe if we say it three times straight we might get good looking asses… Robotech, Robotech... Robotech…

Mr. Armstrong didn't go to some uncharted ocean or jungle. He left the bloody planet and was the first to set foot on another astral body. Now that is the ultimate "first!". R.I.P.
