I'm meh on character figures. I want my Glaugs, Q-raus, Regulds (with the different missile pods), and Destroids. Oh and just got my VF-1S, pretty cool figure, still haven't messed around enough with it.

The 2009 Vanderbrink Ferrari 599 GTO SCREAMS Corvette Stingray to me.

Nice update, I'll be looking through them as time permits. Are the M&M VF-22s from Mac7 going to be added the site anytime soon? Just wondering. Nice work in the update though.

It's nice to see a topic I started still going strong . I think it's worth watching to see Max and Millia in their Vf-22s near the end of the series. I've been thinking about watching Mac7 again. Actually, I might do the entire saga in chronological order (Macross Zero, SDF Macross, Macross Plus, Macross 7) since its been about 4-6 years since I've watched SDF Macross and Macross 7. Just a little refresher before Macross Fontier or whatever the new show is called comes out.

I really think if everyone drove manual there would be less traffic accidents because you need to be totally focused on driving when using a stick and you can't do anything else while driving (talk on the cell, eat, etc). I'm leaning towards getting manual on my next car purchase because I think it'll be a useful skill to know.

Love those Cold War era military films.

Didn't Hikaru start using Roy's VF-1S after Roy's death? I always thought in that particular episode, "Booby Duck", that he was flying the VF-1S as he was promoted to Skull Leader after Roy's death in SDF:M.

Nice responses everyone. This car will pretty much be just a daily driver. I've been googling the different cars and reading all kinds of reviews, comments on each of the cars. I may just splurge a little and move up into the $25K range though this is all 6 months to a year away from now. Although my list was entirely made of imports, I am open to American cars. It's just a built in bias from growing up in a Toyota family. I do like the Pontiac G6 and there's just something about the Chevy HHR that I like too.

I'm looking at different vehicles right now because I'm probably going to buy one Spring 2008 at the earliest. I'm looking mainly at cars under $20K. So far I'm interested in the following: Honda Civic Honda Fit Mazda 3 Mitsubishi Lancer Nissan Versa Scion XB Scion XD VW Rabbit I just wanted hear people's thoughts, opinions, and recommendations. Through out any other vehicles you would recommend in the $20K price range

The Xbox 360 Thread Elite Edition
Smiley424 replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Good to know, though getting a 360 would mean I have to pick up a new TV as well, which will be a flat-screen, no doubt. -
The swept wing stuff was pretty interesting. So much for France's hopes that the Rafale will be this generations Mirage III. I'm very surprised at the export success of the Gripen, those the Swedes do know how to make a beautiful fighter (been a fan since the Draken and Viggen). I just wish SAAB cars were as beautiful as their jets.

The Xbox 360 Thread Elite Edition

JsARCLIGHT, thats pretty shady on the part of that TRU you went to. From what I understand, TRU is feeling the heat from Wal-Mart and Target undercutting them price wise on toys. I've notice too that the TRUs I've been to seem to be going out of business, or give off that vibe. Mass Effect is really tempting me to get a XBOX 360, but I'll probably wait until Black Friday, Christmas to see if there will be a good deal on a 360 or PS3 -
The PlayStation 3 Thread 80GB Edition
Smiley424 replied to Gaijin's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Okay, so does the 80 gig PS3 have hardware backwards compatability with PS2 or software? I'm slightly tempted now that it's at $500 for the 80 gig system. -
In SDFM, fastpacks were not created until after Roy's death, they premier in the episode "Booby Duck".
-
I'll be so happy if they do a Q-rau and DYRL VF-1S Max. Regult and Officers Battlepod would be a plus and Destroids would be the icing on the cake.

The Xbox 360 Thread Elite Edition
Smiley424 replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm waiting to see reviews of Mass Effect, that and the new 65 nm chips may push me into springing for a 360. -
Looks cool for those who have MP-05. I don't, I was really put off by the skeleton legs. The upper body pretty well done, but for that kind of money, sorry not picking that one up.
-
If you mean specifically Macross Revoltechs, there better be. I'm picking up a VF-1J and VF-1S in the hopes of getting some Zentradi Mecha and Destroids.
-
The premier was alright. This time around, I'm going to be able to watch from the beginning. Some new plot lines were explored. New characters introduced. There's a lot going on and they haven't even touched on all the characters yet. Curious to see how this season will flow with all the storylines. I'm waiting for Kristen Bell to be on, though what's with all the blond-haired females on this show?

Ace Combat 6:Skies of Liberation for XBOX360!

Nice, looks like another awesome soundtrack to an awesome game series. The story looks pretty interesting as well. -
The All Things Video Games Thread!
Smiley424 replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Nice, always been a fan of Samurai Showdown. Will have to pick up the PS2 compilation and check out this next gen version. As much as I like Soul Caliber, it's always good to see something new in the weapon fighter genre. Seems like Soul Caliber is the only game in town in the fighter game with weapons category. On another note, I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread but Fire Pro Wrestling Returns is coming out for PS2 at the budget price of $14.99. For those that don't know, Fire Pro is a Japanese wrestling video game series and is probably one of the best I've ever played. The graphics aren't cutting edge or anything, but for me gameplay outweighs graphics. Can't wait, it's supposed to be out sometime in November. Yeah, I'm curious about how MP Skywarp compares to MP Starscream. I sold mine because after the first transformation the various pieces didn't fit back together in fighter mode as tight as out of the box. The seams were too noticeable for my tastes. That and I felt like I was going to break something by just transforming it.

Macross 25th Anniversary and upcoming new TV series thread
Smiley424 replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
If the show is being pushed back to 2009, that's pretty disappointing considering hubbub with the 25th anniversary and all. I will still be patiently waiting for the show thought, so I hope it'll turn out spectacular with that kind of time invested. -
The Comic Book thread
Smiley424 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Correct, unlike DC who went to one universe after Crisis on Infinite Earths back the 52 Universes in 52, Marvel has kept their universes unlimited as far as I know. I did read 52, which I thought was pretty well done. Geoff Johns is another great writer and I try to follow the books he's on. Loved him on Teen Titans, love him on Green Lantern, he's doing good work on JSA, and I wait for his issues with Richard Donner on Action Comics (waiting for the panel with the infamous phrase "Kal-El, son of Jor-El, KNEEL before Zod!"). Haven't checked out the new Booster Gold series, but I hear it's good. Granted All-Star Batman is moving at a slow pace, but I like the universe Miller is setting up though. For the most part I like Jeph Loebs work. Hush was very well done, I wouldn't call it the second coming or anything, but I think it's a must read for Batman fans. I have the Absolute edition, which really shows off Jim Lee's artwork and it can be had at $50 retail. I wasn't too impressed with Loeb's run on Wolverine, Bianchi's art made it worthwhile to me though. I trust him to do good with a big title like Ultimates though. Excited for Ellis and Bianchi taking over Astonishing X-Men. Bianchi is fast becoming one of my favorite artists. His work is always a joy to look at and he's on time with his work. World War Hulk has been good though I also don't like Romita Jr's work as well. I just have the feeling that the ending will be as anti-climatic as Civil War and House of M were. Hulk needs to kill at least one of the Illuminati or I'll be dissapointed.- 557 replies
