Well, as I said, I sanded and repainted the component, so it looks like a painted brick... I could take pictures if something explodes again, and if it doesn't, I guess I don't have to worry about it. It looked like mp03 starscream after trying to transform it, if that helps... (cracked abs plastic around a hinge)

Sooooo I was stripping down one of my Arcadia VF-0A's for repainting using mr. thinner instead of my usual rubbing alcohol (since it works so much faster... sigh...) when I noticed that the gerwalk joint spontaneously started exploding. Turns out you're not supposed to use that on straight plastic and this is a well documented effect for modelers. So I stopped, I repaired and sanded the fissures I saw with CA, and now I'm wondering if this toy is now compromised. Is there anyway to "undo" the embrittlement? Should I just glue this together in fighter mode? The rest of the fig seems fine.

Just wondering: has anyone tried using dispersion dye on Bandai and/or Arcadia's plastic? Looking to get some more beautifully drab gray valks and I don't want to deal with paint rub, but I'm a bit nervous about dumping the thing wings and everything in 90C water.

Just another note of help to those waiting: I was always cordial in my communication with NY and did not let them know about order numbers before me, etc. Also, it was quite random: I got my shipment notice today although my last communication with them was 3 weeks ago. It really seems that they're drawing numbers out of a hat or something!

My VF-31A shipped through NY today! (Ordered 10/7 3am) And to think, I had just logged on today to request store credit I'd be even more excited if I hadn't already bought a pair at the scalper's markup since I was impatient. But another in the family never hurts.

I'm still waiting for my order, after numerous pesterings. I ordered 10/7 03:05:09 #488952 and have sent multiple bugging tickets: still no movement. I'm also in the boat of "never using NY again" despite their low prices.

Dang, I woke up with a vague feeling I forgot something and I load up MWF to find out I missed a PO madness night. Anyone mind sharing late-comer sources? (Other than loopaza... $300 before shipping is more than I want for 2 chunks of bracketry)

I'm still confused- are those pics w. drakens just a "what if" of them glued onto the valk and the actual product going to have super bulky bracketry? Or are those brackets THAT invisible? Other than the color, I actually think the drakens on siegfried are starting to grow on me- I suppose worst case, if I PO, I can get a vf-31F with slightly less foggy canopy?

Sooo just to be clear- it's brackety-goodness for the 31F and non-perfect transformation? If that's the case, I too will pass: though I hope this encourages some obsessive collectors to dump their original 31F's at bargain prices

I just won me a vf-31A of YJP for a cool 37800 yen since I got tired of constantly refreshing my order status at NY. In other words, it looks like the price is starting to stabilize from the craziness of a month ago: have hope my friends! If NY actually does come through with my PO, I'll be more than happy to have a pair. Yeesh. Time to start selling off other bits of my collection or a kidney to make rent!

Now I'm kind of sad I didn't take advantage of 10% off rakuten coupon... though the cost shipped to my door would probably still have been about $460 One silver lining: hopefully this sends a message to bandai that lo-viz schemes sell like crazy and maybe we can get some more military-looking valks. For now I'll just bust out the vf-25s, Vf-4G and VF-0A to satisfy my cravings for gray.

I ordered 10/7 from NY, still waiting. I sent a polite and truthful concern email because I'll be moving in the summer and so would prefer to know when to expect shipment, but I just got a "soon" response. I'm kicking myself for not jumping on the other open vendors when I had the chance: this is probably my favorite valk design so far outside of the VF-0A. I'm getting more and more tempted to repaint the 31J kai I just got in lo-viz.... hmmm...

Does anyone know where the gunpod goes in non-SAP fighter mode? I'm personallly just wondering how much parts-swapping this will have. I really love the HMR vf-1 except for how many pieces need to get switched out for battroid!

Hi folks, just wanted to see if I could get a little help with the VF-25G renewal gerwalk support/sniper rifle holder. I have come into the possession of a spare sniper rifle, and I have a VF-25A ready to convert into a sniper, but I didn't realize that the fighter mode holder is dependent on a part unique to the 25G. Anyone out there able to lend a helping hand with a close up picture/3D model?

This is the first Macross series I've actually tried to watch: I've otherwise just been a valk junkie. I wouldn't mind if a movie came out if it meant armor parts/"something something pack" that looked better than the ugly VF-31 super packs. Knowing how the series is going though, it'll probably be a lolimaid costume for battroid mode. -
Help requested? vf-25 Shoulder missile mount super vs armor part

Hi, I managed to score a discounted armor set, but it was discount because it's missing the replacement plates that the shoulder missiles mount to. From my eyeball examination, it looks similar enough to the VF super mount, but does anyone own both and would be willing to confirm for me? Is that ball socket exactly the same? If they're the same, I'm going to try to 3D print or resin cast off of my super parts. If not... I suppose I could always design my own way of mounting... -
Hi, I'm hoping to try to make a heatshield that can stick onto the clear canopy rather than having a parts swap (i'll figure out how to hide it in the fighter later!) I was about to start sanding/cutting/milling away at my heat shield, but then I thought, I'm sure there's a way to do this with a two part mold so that I can get a perfectly conforming heatshield rather than me trying to guess! Does anyone have any advice on how I would go about this project? I'm thinking if I make a mold of the heat shield and then use the clear canopy as the other side of the resin mold, I'd be able to make a heatshield just right.

Hi Jason, I'm a mechanical engineer who works with injection molded parts. If there is enough demand, may I suggest trying proto-mold? 3D printing is a great technology, but as soon as you hit 10+ samples doing a low-run an aluminum mold or RIM mold might be more efficient (not to mention a heck of a lot stronger!!!!)
