So I just joined the forum tonight, but have been something of a fan of Macross (granted, when I was 9 yrs old back in '83, it was 'Robotech' to me) fan since I was a kid. I just happened to get reminded of Robotech last month, and decided I would download the series. My 5-year-old son started watching it with me, and has become a huge fan. As I had gotten a couple of the Robotech figures back in 84/85 (which, I believe, are still in my parents' basement), I just happened to google 'robotech figures,' which then led to 'Macross figures,' which eventually led to 'Macross 1 60' on ebay/amazon/ cdj/ hlj/ etc, at which point my son saw what I was doing (doh). His eyes lit up, and, next thing I know, 3 weeks later, we have the following collection (thus far):

In case you're wondering:
1) yes, they're all in my 5-year-old's room
2) no, he hasn't broken anything, and he is so concerned about breaking them that he calls for me whenever he wants to play with them
The best part is that he is obsessed w/ keeping the boxes.

The worst parts are:
1) we're going to outgrow our 3500 sq ft house in short order...
2) he now thinks that every box that shows up at the house is 'a new Robotech'
Anyway, you guys have been a great resource for someone who's just getting started on this (and who has a very young son -- no matter whether or not you think he's waaayyy too young to appreciate them/ not break them -- for whom he thinks this will be a great collecting/play opportunity for many years to come).
Thanks!
