macster1971 replied to Gakken85's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Not Macross I know but my most recent Mecha purchase was The Soul of Chogokin Gunbuster Re-Paint Vers x2 from HLJ, Why buy 2 I hear you ask? Well when it comes to Mechs I guess I'm just insecure. p.s. One day I'll figure out how to upload my pics! "Aim For The Top!" -

It's been quite a long time since my last Macross Purchase due to the Steep cost of Valks & Limited availability, but I've finally managed to get my hands on a VF-19 Advance, Yipeeeee! -
As a long time Anime/ Macross/Sci-Fi fan, I was just wondering in these days social awareness & political correctness, Is it ever appropriate to use The "G" Word? "You know G----M!"

I have No problem with the Gerwalk Mode, In fact it's my Favourite! Who could'nt Love it it's Half Way between Fighter and Battroid Mode right, So Coooooooool!!

What's the most you've done for a single toy?

I have been temping in some really crappy Low paid jobs jobs for the last 4 years so I could scrape up enough pennies to buy a few Valks and Gundams, My most recent Macross Purchase being the VF-29 Durandal with Weapons Pack (Isamu Dyson) Colours. I know it's a cliche, But I really Love Macross but I just wish the Valks were'nt so damned expensive! -

Appleseed Alpha - New Appleseed Movie
macster1971 replied to Tochiro's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just recently seen it, a bit strange at first but not bad once you get used to the style, obviously going for a more realistic look and feel. 7.5 out of 10- 62 replies

The price of Super Parts and Armor Parts is ridiculous!
macster1971 replied to Novareign's topic in Toys
I'm not saying that Bandai & Yamato/Arcadia are Milking the fans, But sometimes I think I should've been born with udders! (Lol) -
How much in UK Pounds Sterling?

I'd vote for YF-21 Omega, VF-11B with Fast Pack and of Course VF-II WITH SAP. Hell Yeah!!

I remember eagerly awaiting the next part of this OAV/OVA Many years ago and then... Disaster struck!! The last episode was delayed due to "Legal Issues" or so the Story goes! Finally got to see it on the Big/Well Big-ish Screen at the Brixton Ritzy Cinema way back in the late 90's Happy Days! Watched it again recently, Still Great!! I might get the Blue Ray Box Set, The old Manga DVD'S are starting to show their age with regard to picture quality though, But not the content.

For a Valk that not many people seem to like it seems to be selling pretty well, In fact i'd go as far as to say "They're Flying off the shelves!" I Prefer The Isamu Dyson colour scheme.

This forum has caused me to remember my first Sortie into the Wonderful World of Collecting Macross Merchandise, When I were a young Lad, Mamy Many years ago, I would scoure the lands looking for Valkyrie Toys which even back in the Late Eighties and Early Nineties was something of in Impossible task to find any in the UK, On rare occasions I might find a battered of damaged Transformers Jet Fire toy or maybe even a totally destroyed Takatoku Valk, But on one magical Summer's day at a Car Boot sale I happened to come across Not One but Two MIB Takatoku VF-1S's for which I paid the princely sum of £4.00 UK Pounds Each! Happy Days Indeed, However a couple of years down the line in an unexplainable M.O.M. (Moment of Madness) I stupidly sold them on for about £20:00 each! I was just curious if anyone else has had similar regrets about lost Macross Treasures.

Not just the parts but also the Valks cost a fortune! at this rate I might have to sell a kidney to afford one! P.s. Don't get me started on the customs & excise duty either (UK at 20%) I think that every shippment should come with a free tub of Vasseline!! (Lol) -

I've got both of the VF-0'S with Ghosts Very Nice, I also Have the M&M VF-1J'S But the box art is different Blue Box for Max and Red for Miriya or Millia if you prefer, think they must be older versions? I've got some pretty big gaps in my Macross collection though money was tight back then and still is! Missing Large Yamato YF-21 & VF-11B Thunderbolt,Not to mention The SDF-1 Sob,sob. -
Biggest and probably the most asked question, open or keep in box.
macster1971 replied to Novareign's topic in Toys
Personally I look at it like this, These things are usually Very Expensive,Particually The New Bandai & Yamato/Arcadia Mechs, When times are good I'll buy 2 or 3 of each or if I'm feeling a bit Greedy or insecure which is Most of the Time! (Lol) Also these things tend to be Extremely Fragile and Delicate especially for those of us Big Kids with Sausage Fingers, Also another added bonus of buying multiples of each item is the "Trade or Swap" Potential. -

It would indeed be Great if Mac & Mecha Fans from around the world could all meet up to share thier love of all things Macross. I know that a Macross Convention was proposed several years ago in the u.k. I think I was one of the only people who signed up for it! But things have changed and Anime it seems has become more mainstream now well(Sort of!)

Sorry I forgot to say Thank you for welcoming me to the forum. Many Thanks, I'm a bit new to all this stuff as far Mac Fans go I'm old git! I got into Anime and Macross in the Mid-Eighties, I've always been into Sci-Fi and Art/Animation they all go together pretty seamlessly, I never could understand why people looked down on Anime and just refer to it as "Those Japanese Cartoon Things like Pokemon!" The shows seem to have a lot more depth than most mainstream live action shows in the west, Not to mention some Great Mecha designs (Nod to Mr Kawamori-San) Aka: God! Lecture OVA! (Lol) -

Need More Macross and Gundam Unicorn Toys though and I still haven't got my Arcadia YF-19 yet too many toys not enough money, Sob,sob! and dont get started on Customs & Excise Duty it's at 20% in the UK Ouch!! -
