Alright, I'm desperate. Does anybody know how to disassemble books like this without tearing them to shreds, like melting the binding or something?

Thanks! -
Ok, I've gotten desperate with the VF-1 orthographics. The images I found on the internet just aren't working well enough for me. So, last year I bought a couple of the Master File books, (and I'm waiting on the third now), but I don't really have an easy way of scanning them in - unless I cut the pages out. Is there any alternative to this? I'd also like to see if there's an English translation to these books.

You know - it wasn't even from the mecha database. But the line art was done by the same artist. Nevermind. No, it was the front-view vs. the side view of the VF-1. I made the engine via the side view and then switched to the front view - and the engine I made wasn't the same proportions. I'm gonna post a question about this in a new thread. -

Yeah, I got a hold of a couple of the master files books - awesome stuff, but ARE expensive! I just have to scan some of the stuff in. I wish they had an English translation somewhere... I tried using some of the orthographic images off of the mecha manual - but they aren't to scale with one another - like the side view doesn't match the front-view. -

You know, just having a central repository of blueprints and orthographics would be worth gold. -
Well that's awesome work, dude. I hope to be that good some day.

Fantastic! Thanks! While working on flyable, transformable mecha, I'm putting them on a map where the players spawn on Ataria and can walk around and pilot mecha and drive around the Island. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzY4UoPD7hs

Could you post some more over-all pics of the island so I can steal the layout for my doom mod?

Wow, this looks fantastic. How are you piecing this together? What source material are you using? Are you filling in the blanks yourself?
-
That's hot. What tools are you using?

This would be a great site to have. I don't even think it would cost a ton of money. -
I hate Harmony Gold...

Oh that's interesting. Is there any more of this? I'm a long way from anything like that, though. This, on the other hand, is just an abonimation:

I used to post on the Robotech.com forums and post screenshots and stuff and they never said anything about it.

I don't think I've heard of a non-canon armored gerwalk. You're not talking about this, are you?

I just ordered this book from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Variable-Fighter-Master-Squadrons/dp/4797372737/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1405621780&sr=1-1&keywords=Macross+Variable+Fighter+Master+File Is that a good one for Orthographics? Also, I was thinking about getting this one: http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Variable-Fighter-Master-File/dp/B007X67LAQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1405621780&sr=1-2&keywords=Macross+Variable+Fighter+Master+File And this one: http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Variable-Fighter-Master-File/dp/B007X64T56/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1405622436&sr=1-1&keywords=Macross+Variable+Fighter+Master+File%3A+VF-1+Valkyrie+Part+2

That's a good idea.

I started teaching myself blender a couple weeks ago. This last weekend I made this: A week ago, I made a humanoid figure out of polygons based on an arcade cabinet video game the characters were playing in Southern Cross: Next, I was thinking about making a model of the Sharon Apple computer box: What other simple objects are there in these series that I could practice on while working my way up to transformable valkyries?
