    I hope that posting this is ok being non-Macross, but I finally got this yesterday and it's awesome. On the downside, lots of part swapping and it's a lot smaller than I was expecting.     Oh ok, fair enough and thanks for the explanation. I'm sure he's in this thread somewhere saying he either intended to or has preordered. So we should get a review from him in any case.

    That's really nice subtle weathering, looking forward to seeing the other modes. Can I ask how you weather them; ie do you start in fighter mode and do the whole thing, then start transforming and do the rest that you couldn't see when in fighter mode? Beautiful work.

    Thanks everyone. No lights were used, just natural daylight through the window. I played about with contrast, brightness, and mid tones, but not too much.

    I decided to use the NY facility where you pay the VaT upfront to bypass any customs charges. Sure it costs more, but no delays waiting for customs to process the package (sometimes this can add two weeks!!!), plus I don't have to pay their handling fees on top of the duty/VaT.

    Very true. The only other thing to mention is that you'll have to remove the head lasers for the beam cannons to fit over the head properly. Just beautiful. Would love to see pics of the other modes too if you would oblige.

    As Yeti says, dry brushing is the opposite of doing an oil wash. Instead of paint going into the panel lines, you are trying to just add paint to the raised surface detail. It's called dry brushing because you have as little paint on the brush as possible. I would suggest doing an internet search for tips and videos of people doing it. If you are trying to do something similar to wm cheng, I don't think that dry brushing is what you are looking for.
