why anybody would spend 100k+ on a non-vintage car is beyond me. For that kind of money you could buy a 67 camaro for $10k and put $90k into making it smoke damn near anything. A d-type jag, sure... a ford gt-40 [not a gt but a real gt-40], a ferrarri dino, etc sure, but a new car? Everybody jumped on the delorean and look what that got them... an expensive paperweight. After a car has survived a few years at least indicates it's more than just a pretty face. Hell... buy a kit car if you want a pretty face. At least you know the drivetrain is sound. And what the hell is up with the new beetle?!?!? God... some wanna be hippies with to much money by the way... first try looked nice. Most of your pics have a tint to them though... not sure if it's lighting or camera. the third pic from the right [top row] reminded me of many a f/a 18 I fell off of while washing in the navy. Don't be afriad to make mistakes and something I sugest is always have one or two "crap" pieces to work on while working on your main project. If you ever do dry-brushing having a few pieces to screw up makes it much easier as you can "prime" them and when the brush is "dry" enough move on to the piece you care about . You might also try painting a toy or two while painting your models... you can get them cheap, they don't need any work [unless your a nutcase like me with excess spawn parts], and you can get some very nice effects. Lord knows some guys around here can put a factory yammie or bandai paint job to shame... but if you mess up a custom paint job on a jetfire the paint remover to start over has less dire consequences than if it was a kit. oh yeah... listen to wm cheng... his wisdom is great... as is his humility... probably why he's one of the few folk around here I don't make fun of

I always thought you added dye to the resin while mixing it... not after it was dried. ionic plating is a different story as that bonds... but I think you are SOL unless you get John to dye it for you while he casts it. I know jesse dyed his strike resin during casting and it came out nice. Beers did some color work as well that was beautiful... like all beers' stuff, again during casting. After it's cast though...

now thats paying attention to detail big F! . I never noticed many of those differences... just wheter parts swaped or not. I never noticed the leg thing as I always swapped intact legs or built legs from known parts. I'll have to go and look at the trapezoids on mine now... ok... some of mine have them, some of them don't... and I can't see any correlation between old bandai mark and new as I have trapezoids on both versions. Leg parts different??? I've never noticed that unless you mean with bootlegs, which don't normally have as much metal. Primary diference between jetfires is matsushiro or bandai. Matsu had slightly different head lasers and said "matsushiro" on the back plate on the reinforcing bar. Earlier bandais had "bandai" the same spot matsushiro had been. Later bandai's has bandai in a box below the reinforment bar on the back plate. The diference between a vf and a jetfire is more complex. The nose cone of a vf is narrower than jetfires "child safe" blunted nose. Other than that the only difference would be the head and neck plate depending on which vf. Keep in mind I say this comparing jetfire only to matsu, bandai, and takatoku. The two exceptions are different wings on the seeker and ostrich. with bootlegs the differences can be more extreme... From plastic instead of metal parts, mis-assembly, different screws, inferior head lasers, etc. As a rule parts can be swapped between all the boxed bootlegs fairly readily. I wouldn't recomened trying anything with the carded bootlegs. I haven't tried using mpc parts yet... anybody have a busted mpc they want to let me experiment with? which boot did you get? I should have specified that $40 was for boxed boot's... I have yet to see carded one worth more than $10... barely. U can use the boosters off one on a real vf with a little work... but they are still crappy boosters at best.
