Hmm... Looks like they sold out again on CD Japan, but fear not they're still offering it up as a special request item on the page. That means they'll try and track the product down from other places like retail stores and, of course, Amazon. So chances you can get it is still there.

When they ship. They used to only charge you at the end of the month it ships but moved to this much better model sometime ago I think.

Good job Keith for staying on top of this. At least now people will still get their chance to get a hold of the LE. Amazon JP seriously must have the lion's share of the LE stock it seems.
-
That is some serious mark up there with Yes, but considering how they're getting their stock I guess I can see why it's that much. There's always a chance that more stock may become avaliable but as I mentioned before about how they had to go about getting the suppliers and stock just for the manufacture of the product, it just isn't going to happen quickly. That is of course if they do decide to make more in the first place.

Not really too sure if CD Japan is that well known either within Japan. Amazon makes much more sense especially with the discounts avaliable to them and the already mentioned free shipping. It really seems that Bandai Visual really underestimated the demand for the LE. Why I have no idea. And Keith, as for the reason why Bandai visual haven't kicked up additional supplies of the LE quite likely has to do with the number and stocks were agreed on months ahead of time. Unfortunately things like this takes time and agreements has to be made with suppliers and their sub-suppliers and so on who have their own demands to deal with which could mean the number they agreed upon is just about all they can do. It's a little more complicated than that example but I think you get the idea.

Eh, it's got it's charm. It's not a disaster at least. He has left a legendary series of works behind for us and for that I thank him deeply for them.

Well that last one is a real downer. And just when they just announced the 30th anni DYRL BD pack.

Speaking of Mikimoto's work output, it must be hard for him to produce two mangas a month even with assistants and all. How is his other work "Ciel" doing anyway? I haven't seen a new volume in must be two years now in which time we had three Macross the First.

Seriously? I thought Toshiro lives there full time. Are you planning to ship them all back in a shipping container or something Toshiro? I had enough of a headache when I found out I didn't have space for my Monster and had to post my stuff back via post. (The Monster box was much larger than what the largest box the post office had avaliable)

All that for 3 man? A real bargin Toshiro. Then again you don't have to lug the whole thing back overseas as I would.

Aren't we all? I pretty much agree with the original ending as well, mainly because that's how I will always remember it. But that's neither here nor there. We now have both endings avaliable with the last re-release of the DYRL set. I think...

I merely shuddered.

He's unlikely to be free to do anything if the AKB project in in April unfortunately. It takes close to two years of pre-production for an anime series and on-going support until the last week before the final episode airs. Unless he takes only an nominal role as producer and/or the show is is one of those really quickly flash-like animations, he won't have much time for anything else. Guess his success in producing a succesful anime where music takes an important role has led to this.

I'm unlikely to get my copy till next week since they don't make deliveries here on the weekends and it's unlikely to make it to me by today, EMS or not. Most likely to see the subs up over the weekend before I get my pack. Unfortunate since I always watch my physical raw copies first. I paid enough for it to be usurped by anything else.

Also CD Japan initially refused to handle the sales of the first movie Blu-ray as it came packaged with a game. Which technically classifying the whole thing as a game to them; and not wanting to step on any regional licensing issues or something like that, they refused it for sales outside of Japan. Keith contacted them I think about it and that was basically their response. They eventually changed their mind but by then we already ended up taking our sales elsewhere who would sell it to us. They not doing that again for this second movie. Wonder how many sales they lost due to that initial decision.

Mine just got sent from HLJ, though it was the very last copy as I noticed that it's listed as on backorder now. I actually thought I'd end up on their backorder list when I initially made my order since when HLJ list their stuff as Low Quantity, it usually means they're out and that just hasn't made it to their page updates yet. Just keep looking if you're desperate for it right now, though you know they'll do a reprint since it's so popular. You just got to wait a little for it.

I suppose so on that use of the word would have been popularised by the show, or were they just the first to do so in popular media? That word must have been around way before then wouldn't it? That is one of the things I'm still pondering about.

Cultural impact? It no doubt had an impact in the anime culture what with all the homage in other animes and being the first anime to utilize music as an integral part of the show, and do it successfully, but culture at large? I must be missing it.
