Hello All! MW Con 5 was awesome and was fun meeting everyone there. I didn't get a chance to explain my project in details since I arrived late and by that time everyone was sorta scattered around in groups. Anyhow, let me try explaining this project as thoroughly as I can and what I plan to do with it. I started this project at the beginning of Feb. 2005 and finally completed the valk itself the day of the Con. Currently, I'm working on finishing up the fast packs and arm & leg armors. I'll also be testing it's transformation process throughout the rest of the week to strengthen any weak points that may exist. I decided to call this my JM v2.0 simply because it's an SD Valk that's variable similar to Bandai's JM. Other than that, there's really no similarities. The custom's fully poseable with many points of articulation. I'll try to get an exact number later on. The many joints it has gives it more character in different poses. But the downside is it's more fragile. I'll probably take another 2 weeks to fully complete the entire valk plus accessories. Which then I'll be releasing the TV Hikaru 1J version. I'll then work my way through out the rest of the VF line including Elint and Ostrich. Oh yeah, this kit is right about 95% scratch built. Things like screws and a few of the boosters were used from other things. Anyhow, here's some pics and I'll add some comments when it comes to mind:

Sorry guys but there's no more available at the moment. For those that have ordered and paid I estimate to have them ready for shipping by end of week. Will contact each individually to confirm shipping. Oh yeah, Fulcy was the one who had me color match the lowviz. Aaajin, you were the second one to get them right after Fulcy. Just to answer your question

same price as usual but I'd rather you not order it in the regular color since I'm only gonna provide one mold this time and I want to make sure everyone that wanted a lowviz head from before can get one. 10 bucks for the head and 10 bucks for the hands. If I have enough leftover I can go ahead and cast for the regular color.

Hello All! I recently casted a set of VF-1S head and TV Hands for a fellow member in "Low Viz" color. This was about a month ago or so. I still have the fresh set of molds for these and can provide somewhere between 20 - 25 qty. The low viz head you see below has a tinted blue visor but it's hard to tell in the photo. Anyhow, let me know if you're intrested.

Actually, I'll most likely do a run of 10 of these since a few members here seem to want one and I don't want to just post up the project and not offer it. The thing is, I have to order the Kotobukiya parts from HLJ first. Since I need more parts from HLJ I'll go ahead and order enough parts for this as well. However, I must warn you it wont be cheap due to the parts. It will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 -25 bucks. I'll have to order the parts and calculate them out first. Just send me a PM if you're interested. Oh yeah...Nick...you want the SD girl too huh? You want everything you crazy @$$ J/K thanks for the CardBoy

Here you go. A size comparison shot with a 1/60 Valk Gunpod: After taking a second look, the pic's not too accurate in terms of size. Stupid me put the Gunpod in front of the Tachi which obviously makes the Tachi much smaller.
-
Yeah, I'll post some size comparison pics up in a bit so you can really see it's actual size. Also, I'm not exactly sure if I'll be selling this little guy since I'll have to order the ballcap joints from HLJ.com which may be a bit costly and I just don't feel that I can offer it at a low enough price after the cost of materials. I had to use joints from 3 seperate packages which costs around $2.50- $3.00 per package so joints alone already total a min of $7.50. Maybe if enough pple would like it then I'll be able to make something work out. None the less it was a fun side project for me

Here's the comparison shot. The on on your left is the original and the one on the right is the bootleg custom. Notice surface of the original Tachi is more dull. After I customed all the parts, I coated the pieces with a thin layer of paint and polished it for mold making.

Yeah, I do realize that the "smokestack" thingy on top of it's head is supposed to be blue as well. But I havn't gotten the chance to cast it blue yet. All of the blue colors you see are acutally resin casted in blue tint. I only painted the details such as the silver, black, and whites. Although the Eyes are also casted in white resin so no paint there as well.

I'll show a comparison shot of the original next to the custom in a bit. For now, check out these pics:

You can see from the pic above that the following parts are now able to pose at will: the two arms, all four legs, cannon, as well as the backpack.

Hello all! I recenly got my hands on this mini Tachikoma and customed some poly joints onto it's limbs for fun. Since I didn't want to ruin the original, I recasted it and chopped away at the copies instead. I used those Kotobukiyo joints which works out just fine with their wide assortment and durability. The joints were casted into the resin and one-way locked into place. So now, I don't have to worry about the ball joints slipping out. Check out some pics:

Most definately, I'll be casting them with other color options. But I'll need a general idea of what colors and what tone of color as well. I don't want to end up casting a red that looks ugly or too bright. -

Hello all! Here's a test cast for the Gunpod I promised you guys. I added a slight bit of tint to try to match the original's greyish color and did quite well. It's slightly darker in person but it's just a matter of a couple of more tries. I think I'll post the rest of the pricing and details in the "For Sale" section. -
Hey All, I've been curious to know more about the VF-11 Fastpacks. I've done some heavy searchs here and otherplaces but couldn't find any detailed artwork of the fastpacks. I particularly want to know more about it's insides. There's plenty of photos of for the VF-1's fastpacks with drawings of it's inner works.
