    At the time I thought Jem was a rip off of Robotech's popularity with Minmei.

    Saw it last weekend with the wife and her friend. Typically I liked it more and in some ways a little more than the first 300. That being said, they definitely set this film up for a third film.

    I watched the first episode on the last season and it looked sooooo good on my 65in Panasonic plasma.

    This may be the best Transformers to date but I suspect it'll be Michael Bay's last as the franchise desperately needs needs a reboot.

    I read this on AICN and its sounds too ambitious. Hollywood needs to sit down, watch the original 1984 film and learn why it was so cool.

    Carl Macek's Robotech had a great story but it's limited by many things. If I ever won the lotto I'd buy the Robotech rights from HG and just reboot the series with new character and mecha designs so it wouldn't be beholden to anyone.

    Is this movie as whimsical as Ghibli's last films? I could barely watch those. The only Miyazaki films I enjoyed were Nausicaä and Princess Mononoke.

    I watched the trailer on my 65in plasma using the Youtube app and it looked amazing! I recommend you do the same if you own a large screen smart TV. That being said I can't wait to see the whole film on the big screen!! Just curious, I know the Japanese hated the last Godzilla remake so does anyone know how they feel about this new re-remake?

    Saw the movie and its great for father and sons. My wife and I are expecting so it made me think about my toys and my future child.

    More or less an exaggeration on my part However some parts were tweaked more than I liked. I'd like see to a Macross toy made using Magpul polymer

    I'm reading through this long thread and was wondering if this YF-19 will be worth the $$$. Any idea on how it'll be compared to Yamato's toys? I had the Yamato VF-11B and practically destroyed it trying to transform it, ugh. I hadn't bought a Macross toy in over ten years but this new YF-19 has my interest peaked!!

    The original Robocop's theme was 'the future of law enforcement.' Interestingly the new Robocop has a better grasp on that theme when it comes to drones and surveillance. Pretty scary stuff if you value civil liberties. I doubt we'll see anything like a Robocop in our lifetime but what we saw in the Tehran scene may not be far that off.

    I just finished watching Zipang. Good modern naval military series with sci-fi/time travel looped in. Gives real insight into post-WW2 Japanese thinking and culture.

    Saw the Robocop remake yesterday alone as the wife isn't a sci-fi fan, lol. Anyways, the film had a great cast, action and well directed plus its thought provoking but lacked the R-rated soul of the original. The more I think about it the more I like the reboot and I can look past the missing R-rated gore as young boys and girls should see this film. So yes, I will buy it for a dollar!

    Yeah, I have the live movie on DVD. Decent effects and sets. I'd tolerate the acting if it wasn't for the weak plot. What a waste. Amazing how 2199 was able to surpass all that though.

    I'd be cool with a live action Akira if they used Japanese actors and Hollywood effects!

    Thank you. I understand they would be expensive and would only buy a couple of pieces and frame them as art for my home. It'd be ideal if Shoji Kawamori and Haruhiko Mikimoto had a studio to sell the art for them

    I'm a long time Macross fan and looking to buy original Macross art by Shoji Kawamori and Haruhiko Mikimoto. I saw they had their own PR sites but didn't see anyway to contact them directly. I tried Google and so what is my best option besides flying to Japan? I checked the WTS section here but didn't see anybody selling original art. Any help to get me started would be great!!
