Another excellent (so far) season of Invincible. Prime still has the best comic book super hero series in animated and live action form imho. That being said I'm watching this during a one month free trial for Prime and the ads sucks. Having to pay extra for ad free is insulting and their weak video library won't make me subscribe again. I also don't miss the faster shipping with Prime too. Just plan ahead with your orders or buy local if you really need something ASAP.

Cringe. Well, tell the writers a female character in Star Wars can't be a strong leader without a blaster or a light saber, lol. -

I actually like Mon Mothma and hope she gets a spin off series that takes around the trilogy up to ROTJ. Female leaders can have a purpose ya know. -
40th Anniversary of Robotech
TangledThorns replied to Old_Nash_II's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
For my TV market I think ROBOTECH first aired on April 15th. The first episode with Rick Hunter crash landing in that transforming Veritech fighter blew my mind! ROBOTECH cemented me as a nerd and anime addict for decades. That being said I think ROBOTECH is fading away. Hardly any new media that can attract new and young viewers and I don't even really care anymore tbh. If ROBOTECH makes a return then great but till then... HG had its chance over 20 years ago but blew it. ROBOTECH pretty much died with Carl Macek. -
Signed up for a free month of PRIME to get some stuff I need delivered quickly and just finished SECRET LEVEL. There are good episodes but much of it felt like extended game trailers, especially Armored Core, which I found disappointing. Honor of Kings with Arnold Schwarzenegger was probably my favorite, funny and touching, and Arnold should do more voice work while he still can. Other than that Secret Level was also an excellent tech demo for photo-realistic cg actors, best I've seen yet imho.

Well well well. Looks like in a heavy Hollywood spin way Kathleen Kennedy is still leaving Lucasfilm but by her "choice", lol. Her choice or no choice, it reads like she'll continue destroying leading LucasFilm till end of this year. As a Star Wars fan I'm looking forward to 2026, if not sooner 😎 https://deadline.com/2025/02/kathleen-kennedy-clarifies-lucasfilm-exit-star-wars-future-1236304421/- 326 replies

Gene was 95 years old but his wife and dog was found dead too. Carbon monoxide leak? Still, heckuva an actor. I'm gonna have to re-watch some of his older films from the 1970s. RIP

Chewie, take the professor in the back and plug him into the hyperdrive. Your post doesn't make sense, maybe that is intentional? Anyways, KK is going away and I'm happy for it.- 326 replies

That bold line shows greed won over art which proves it was a dumb decision still. Artists, like anybody else, only have so much bandwidth and expecting JJ Abrams to do both STAR TREK and STAR WARS successfully was just dumb but greedy still. Congrats to KK for damaging two classic sci-fi franchises. Either way KK and JJ both got rich off of it. Also, I'm not the only one who knows how bad KK is.- 326 replies

You're wrong about KK with no evidence mind you. Put on your critical thinking cap and check out this interview of JJ Abrams where he admits KK pressed him to direct Star Wars. In hindsight it was a bad idea because JJ was deep into Star Trek which was a good first film. Afterward both the new Star Wars trilogy and Star Trek films fell apart, badly. ABRAMS: I mean, I get it. The worlds are vastly different. Honestly, that was why I passed on Star Wars to begin with. I couldn’t imagine doing both. But when I said that my loyalty was to Star Trek I was literally working on finishing this cut. I couldn’t even entertain another thought. It was like being on the most beautiful beach in the world and someone saying, “There’s this amazing mountain over here. Come take a look.” I couldn’t balance the two, so I passed on Star Wars. ABRAMS: It was a wild time. I was near the light at the end of the tunnel with my work on Star Trek. I felt I needed a bit of a breather, actually. But then Kathleen Kennedy [the new Lucasfilm head who oversees Star Wars] called again. I’ve known her for years. We had a great conversation, and the idea of working with her on this suddenly went from being theoretical and easy to deny to being a real, tangible, thrilling possibility. https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2013/04/jj-abrams-interview-with-playboy.html- 326 replies

Don't know where to post this since we have so many Star Wars threads but this is the best Star Wars news since it was purchased by Disney. KK has caused more damage to Star Wars than a Gungan Grand Army led by Jar Jar Binks. Besides the stupid poor choice in music the trailer looks good. I also just started re-watching the first season and ten minutes into is a excellent reminder why its the best Star Wars series yet imho. -

I'd look at 2Tb of storage as game installs are getting huge at 100Gb and growing. On a side note, a pro-tip for those building a new PC: You you can earn 6% cash back with American Express Blue Cash Preferred card from U.S. Supermarkets purchases but it doesn't have to be on groceries 😉 I've been earning 6% cash back for my next complete build by ordering parts on Amazon using their gift cards I purchased at my local US supermarkets. This 6% cash back also works for other gift cards purchased at my local US supermarkets, eg restaurants, Steam, etc. -

Anybody's employers getting in on the AI biz? Mine and my wife's different employers are working to get AI to help analyze and process (hopefully streamline) work flow. We're just hoping the AI analysis will catch the nuance in human written entries. -

I was able to convince my wife to let me buy a new Jaguar F-Type last year when she didn't want me to buy a Hummer EV or other big ass electric truck that would not fit in our garage and would take up our whole driveway. It was kind of like unintentional reverse psychology 🤣 So now we have three cars; dadmobile (Nissan Juke), mommobile (Subaru Outback), and Batmobile (F-Type). I take the F-Type into my office a couple of times a month and my wife and I enjoy it for date nights too. Back on subject. I'm glad I'm not desperate for a new GPU because I'm waiting on MSI to release their new B850M mobos still, ugh. No idea what their delay is.
