I don't like looking at those old posts. It's embarrasing to see myself defending Harmony Gold. Looking back on it, I really can't figure out what I was thinking. It wasn't in line with any of my beliefs about anime.

Masaka is Komatsu Ayaka's best video but Megami No Chu is good too. Moon Doll is okay. Get Masaka if only for the part when she plays ping pong. You will know then Komatsu Ayaka is the woman that sex was made for.

The definition of Japanese animation is clear and not effected by the definition of "anime" in any language. If the Japanese are not in control of the production of the animation, it's not Japanese animation. The screenshots a page or two back are in a squished aspect ratio. Their heads are obviously enlongated. This video is just like the Robotech II: The Sentinels video. I don't know what else to say. That pretty much sums it up.

Shadow Chronicles is different because it's not anime. The animators are left to do what they want, and that's make Sentinels '06 because it's cheap. Same situation as Sentinels. It didn't look like Zillion but they both came out the same year. I'm comparing it to Japanese animation because HG wants to use words like "anime" and "OVA" to describe it. They want SC to be compared to Macross Plus? Okay they got it.

Looks like the other cons are getting the first 7-10 minutes of the movie we saw at Aurora-Con. I don't know if this is representative of the whole thing, but what I saw didn't measure up to the standards of Japanese animation or dialogue. IMO with few exceptions Korea doesn't know how to animate properly. On the American side, the dubbing studios over the years have gotten worse. I'm fortunate to be a student of Japanese these days.

So you are informing us that the animators decide to draw a 5 second powerup, in a 5 minute battle scene, that started 5 days ago (in the storyline/animation), will take 5 weeks to draw, and another 5 years to print (if at all)? 415313[/snapback] Pretty much, a movie about the end of Robotech and what happens the next day. It's slowed down to the point that I can sell most of my Robotech stuff at the convention this friday. Back in the day I used to be all excited about it. Now I look at Robotech as it is in this revival and it doesn't look all that different from DBZ dubs. One of the things I hope people walk away from the video room we're doing with is how interesting anime is when it's left in the context of Japanese culture. Also they'll get to see some tokusatsu and see it's not just anime.
