I applaud your efforts if you got a decent she. They always looked like they had insanely long necks to me, and while I liked Jennifer Hale in MGS4, I thought her delivery wasn't as good as the male voice actor. Still, I really really hope it's misleading, one because I love my character and two because the original plan was to have choices you made throughout ME1 carry over to ME2. While they are still somewhat obligated to do it for say..the final choice in the game, it seems kinda like a cop out to me. I guess only time will tell if the man...or woman, is really gone.

I'm not entirely convinced he's dead. If his ship is lost behind the Vale or something it's possible he is presumed dead. It's just a teaser after all, and trailers can be misleading.

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

I think it's a partial parts former anyways (the model that is). I personally like the new 11B, and really there's nothing we can do to change the nitpick things. The design is way past the point of a retooling. We're never going to have 100% accurate toys when they are based on pencil renders. With all the new CG in anime it's more likely though not assured. Obviously, at this point, the best way to show your dislike of the compromises is to not plunk down the cash for one. I like it though, so I definitely will. -
The Transmetals I have, have stood the test of time really well. I don't really see much wear on them at all. I was young enough when BW came out to actually play with the toys fairly regularly and they've held up well (though I didn't beat my toys up or anything). My Optimal Optimus, TM1 Cheetor, Rattrap, TM2 Dinobot...you get the idea all are pretty nice still. The only thing they really suffer from is floppy joints (especially Dinobot). But that isn't uncommon if the standard ball joint we've had on TFs for years.

I can't tell if that entire post is sarcastic or not. I seriously doubt God will show up at all as a person (I assume that part is the joke). I certainly don't think Daniel and Kara are twins. Kara definitely isn't 40+ and unless they created/brainwashed/memory implanted her mom, there is really nothing hard to suggest she wasn't born. Depending on how long the original Daniel was alive before John's betrayal (or if the original managed to escape for a time) it might be chronologically possible for them to be related, but I seriously doubt as siblings. -

Perhaps the hips are purely for the sake of the toys transformation? Unless there is a render I Haven't seen. In reality I don't think most TF toys have emotion to em...their features are static in plastic and in the show. That's part of the reason they ratcheted up the complexity of the movie ones, so you could read them better. I know that isn't quite what you meant though. I suppose at this point I don't see the need to voice dissent about the designs as they aren't gonna change em now, and though it may sound like it, I don't like all of them. I suppose I've just come to the point where I think they work for the Universe Bay and company have set up and that's good enough for me. And like you said Pete, at least Prime is Prime. I've never liked the non Peter Cullen voices. -

I really love the way this thing has turned out. My collection macross is pretty modest, but I'd look into getting multiples of these, especially if they did some cool repaints. -

The Cylons of Earth at least to start were products of artificial creation, though they did evolve (or perhaps engineer) the ability to biologically reproduce. Speaking on the differences between the 7 and 5 is fairly tough to do. We know that the 7 are more vulnerable to certain kinds of radiation, but beyond that, we don't know many biological differences. None of the 5 have tried interfacing with the Baseships systems as far as I remember, it's entirely possible they are able to. What we do know is, both the 5 and the 7 are genetically different from humans. They both (now) have the ability to reproduce, as evidence by Athena and Helo's child as well as Caprica and Saul's. They also both have the ability to download 4/5 have done it twice (as far as we can tell) once as a result of the nukes on Earth, and once as a result of John's betrayal. Ellen got a 3rd time from her death on New Caprica. So I'm not sure we can speak so factually on the differences between the two, when A) they haven't been explained fully and B) there are plenty of similarities to go around. -
Animated Cyclonus? Yes please.

Well visions could be like inherited memory or something too. Organic memory transfer existed on Kobol. Perhaps this technology wasn't limited to Cylons alone? It was a lost science until the Five re-invented it. Whose to say that thousands of years ago humans didn't have that as well. Visions also aren't exclusive to Cylons. Laura has had them many a time, and shared them with Six and Athena. We all came from the same place, if the ability to manipulate the mind (and likely genetic code as well) this way was common place on Kobol, it's possible that people were implanted with memories that could be passed down from generation to generation to try and help prevent a cycle of violence. That's stretching a bit, but it isn't so far outside the scope of the science presented in the show that it isn't semi possible. Contrary to what it may seem, I like the religious undertones of the show. I think it's interesting. That being said, I think Moore and company tend to stray away from answering questions purely based on metaphysical or religious grounds. Mainly because it forces you to accept things. I think religion and faith and all that are great ways to make the people seem more human and give us ways to relate to them and what's going on in the show. I don't believe however, that the show will end with god poofing onto the Galactica and handing out judgement or something. -

Oddly enough though Ellen still has a strong liking towards alcohol. We really don't know what the F5 were like before the John messed with things. False memories don't really assure you that personality traits didn't surface. I don't think the argument for Baltar being Daniel is as strong as the argument he was the Final Cylon (the one Ellen turned up being, not this mystery guy). I certainly don't think that IF they explain the head six/head Baltar thing it will be "god only cares about Cylons". I still stand by my statement that big things that have been EXPLAINED in the series stray away from metaphysical things like that, and I don't see it changing now. Also, since the forming of his little movement, the visions have more or less vanished and Caprica doesn't see Baltar either, hasn't since the end of season 2 really. You'd think Gaius spreading God's word and Caprica being pregnant would be important enough to "warrant God's attention" if it were the case. Especially since he's basically stopped talking to everyone. I really believe that at this point Baltar is off the hook. Kara finding her dead self is much more prominent and I see Daniel easily helping fill in the mystery. If she's connected to Daniel and the Cylons it's makes way more sense then just having Baltar be a Cylon now. I like theories, but there are only five episodes left, can you peg Baltar as a Cylon and still introduce an answer the the Kara equation? To me Daniel = Baltar doesn't have much point, it's like the Galactica being the dying leader. At this point, how does that advance the story in an important way? What would we gain from Galactica being a metaphorical leader? What significance is left making Baltar a Cylon? -

I was gonna say it looks like he's the torso, but there is actually two steam shovel toys: Scavenger and Demolisher. The alt modes look really similar though, and it seems silly to have two of the same type of construction vehicles at the same time. Maybe a miss label or something perhaps? -

The new trailer that premiered with the Friday the 13th remake: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809943432/video/12063123 I think it looks awesome, look at how big just 1 piece of Devastator is. I could care less if he was painted pink and shot unicorns out of his blasters, it's gonna be sweet to see some 200 ft tall beast rip stuff up. -

I don't think Baltar has to be something special, though for a long time I was certain that he was. His head Six thing is not unique to him (Caprica had it as well). And in their own ways, both have achieved something important within the show without needing additional layers. Also there is nothing Ellen has said(yet) to suggest that any version of Daniel survived John's betrayal. I think Daniel could much more easily fit in as a plot device to help explain Kara, be it that he's her father or has some other connection to her. Also, while it could have been John's doing, Baltar exhibits none of the traits Ellen pointed out when speaking about Daniel. Though they could fit in with the artist (piano player) that her father was, and could explain part of Kara's affinity for art. Daniel's ties to the Five may also ultimately help connect the images of the Mandala back to Kara as well. -
In some ways I can see why the Devastator toy isn't actually a combo of all the voyager class toys, or something similar. Hasbro has a tough time making decent looking movie figs that go from vehicle to robot without considering additional things for Devastator. I'm not saying I approve, just that I can kinda see where they might be unable...or unwilling to engineer something like that. Still I think Alpha is right, it'll probably be a shelf warmer, even if Dev winds up being popular after the movie hits.

I would agree Taks, BW was fantastic. I remember originally thinking, what the hell is with these animal things? I was initially kind of turned off by the concept. It quickly turned into one of my favorite TF series. I like the movie too though. If anything Transformers on a basic level lends itself to cool fights and lots of crap blowing up, so Bay isn't too out of his element. I think Spielberg's involvement helps the franchise too, he typically doesn't put his name on crap. -

Rumor has it that Jetifre and Prime can combine, now whether that's enough to stop Devastator...who knows. I could see this one being like...Empire Strikes back style. The bad guys are winning, dark time for the humans/Autobots, all that stuff. We may get a semi cliffhanger type ending to lead us right into the third flick. -
I know I'm kinda play devil's advocate with the movie stuff in both threads but there was an article (I'll try to find the link for those interested) about how the movie Soundwave figure is based off the movie but they took the toy design in it's own direction. So a toy may not always be an accurate depiction of the character either. Now if it was done because SW is just too complex or what I'm not sure, and it does kinda stink. I guess my point is bad toy doesn't always equate to a bad design in the long run. Though I'm well aware the movie designs on the whole are love em or hate em. here's that Soundwave link: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/new...otf-toys/15176/ sorry for all the Seibertron links, they are kinda my window to the TFs world. The site is a little slow tonight though. here's the little blurb from the article so you don't have to click: "-Soundwave's toy design is a combination of his movie design, and Hasbro's need for the toy to be a bit more basic. There is a reason for the way he is designed in the film, but that would be telling, which they are not."

Also just because they don't have shots of all the constructicons bot modes doesn't mean they don't have any. For those that don't want to thumb through. Rampage bot: http://www.seibertron.com/events/fullsize....e=1ℑ=6 Demolisher bot: http://www.seibertron.com/events/fullsize....=1ℑ=69 who is also the freeway smasher from the trailer. And just because what they turn into to form Devastator is fairly minor, doesn't mean that their individual bot modes are so simple. As I recall even the Classics line Devastator has minimal transformations on certain pieces, especially the arms. I'm not saying I love the design, I'm kinda on the fence until I see it in the movie. But I don't think judging the components purely on what they look like as Devastator is the right way to go about it. Just a quick edit to illustrate my Devastator point: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toy...ator/1179/1/50/ while overall the mode looks good, so he fairs better than movie Devastator, the arms are basically a crane and front end loader, but they obviously have their own modes. I don't think movie Dev will be much different, even if all the bot modes aren't revealed yet.

They have Rampage on the first page second row and Demolisher on page 3.
-
Devastators components have bot modes. One is seen in the trailer for the movie, and there are shots of the bot modes for each component floating around. Edit: Here's a link with some official images from the movie figs: http://www.seibertron.com/events/gallery.php?event_id=105

Right you are Shin, had to take a second look at the two since the vehicle mode is similar. I'd really like to see him get a true to character treatment, like Cyclonus. Springer has always been a favorite of mine, and he's been sort of neglected on decent figures. I'd like to see him in the movies too if he at least stayed a helicopter, an Apache maybe or Comanche (if they are still developing that one, I'm not really sure). I would agree, the new Bumblebee is really impressive too. I was immensely disappointed with the first round of movie figures, and I'm glad to see improvements (in Prime's case, some serious ones). Sideswipe's toy looks pretty good too, I'm excited to see the render of that character. -

http://www.seibertron.com/events/gallery.php?event_id=105 Some good images of the new movie figs. Still on the fence about some, but dear god Prime actually looks good, and about a million times better than his first version. I'd definitely pick him up. edit: Prime is on page 2 of that link, and they need to stop making Springer repaints and give the character his own mold. -

Agreed, I'd like to see some more adult oriented things come to the transformers universe (other than comics). But I can understand where it might be profitable enough for Hasbro to pursue. Still the..simplicity, if you will, of the life action stuff doesn't make it bad. They also haven't forsaken older fans either. I think character's personality traits still come out and hell, they brought back the real Optimus Prime. Rumor has it I just look at some of the things people say (which of course they are entitled to say) and wonder how they can be so harsh on the movie in general. It all comes down to personal opinion, but I'd take 100 Michael Bay Transformers movies over say...one crappy episode of Armada. As for the designs, I like The Fallen a lot. Devastator I'm not too sure about, only because that image looks like it has some serious perspective going on, like he's starting to leap at you or something. The one component smashing through the overpass, that's double the size of Prime, makes me think that when this guy gets on screen it's going to be insanely awesome.
