I don't think Prime is even Transformed correctly in the packaging, the..."back pack" for lack of a better term is completely different from every user posted image I've ever seen.

That's Sideways (the very dead Audi), Barricade...I dunno. When I first saw shots of the movie I thought it might be Barricade re-hidden so to speak. From what I heard, they filmed or at least planned to film Prime offing Barricade in the first flick which accounted for his delayed entrance to the city fight. However since I never saw it added to the move I don't know if they ever plan on doing anything with it. Edit: Just a quick tidbit here, Seibertron has images of the Takara ROTF line, looks like (at least from what's shown now) there aren't even paint app differences (at least on the leaders). Check it out here I would also wager that Bay will definitely do the 3rd film and even if for some reason he didn't I don't think many of the complaints would go away. The writers have some pretty successful stories under their belts (including the new Trek) so they'd probably stay. The odds of them changing robot designs for the 3rd go around is well...highly unlikely at the least as well. Some things would change but I'd say that more would stay the same. -

I'd vote if it'd let me. Better than the first, 2-3 times so far. -

I thought that the first time I saw it too. Thankfully during the second show they had the bass kicked up pretty good so you still felt it. Still, I'd have liked a bit more force from the weapon sounds. -

I get the sarcasm and all Still Osborn had a place he could go and wasn't really so powerful as to threaten humanity -

What exactly are the Autobots supposed to do? Throw them in robot jail? Or maybe offer the Fallen a chance to surrender? The Earth and its people are basically under the Autobots protection at this point, again what options do they really have? Especially when they threaten to destroy all life on the planet or tear up major cities or whatever? I don't think that the Autobots are really out of character at all. They are willing to put themselves on the line to protect the planet and its people, even when at least some of the people in the world show little to no appreciation for what they've done. That seems pretty noble to me. -

Well Prime had his sword in the first one which was a sort of fan service throwback to his old energon axe. While it there is some truth to the weapons thing, it's usually in bot mode only. If the SR-71 started lobbing missiles we'd have people complaining about that too. I remember discussions about the inaccuracies of the F-22 models from the first movie on this forum (and others), guess you can't make everyone happy. On another note, I think we might have seen a longer Prime/Fallen fight if Prime hadn't gotten Jetfire upgrades. I imagine Prime would've won in the end still, it just would've been longer. But as far as I could tell, the Matrix brought him back but didn't repair him, so I just saw it as he needed the parts to even compete, but they also gave him the edge. But that's purely my interpretation. -

Hmm interesting, I'll have to keep my eyes open for it, since I'll probably log another trip to the theater. Not that I don't believe you, I'm just curious to see how bad it is. -

Fallen was pretty much his name in both the movie and pre-existing canon (comics) so blame them if you don't like his name. And how would a Blackbird fight an F-22 exactly? Do they even have weapons? I also didn't notice any bad special effects. I mean it's F**king ILM how often do they put out bad effects? -

Why exactly is it mandated that Soundwave has to have the voice treatment in the first place? Soundwave was pretty bad ass imo for just chilling in space and doing his covert thing. I swear to god, it's like the Federation font argument all over again. If you didn't like the movie that's fine, obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion. But it really feels like some people just want to hate this movie so damn much they just blow minor things way out of proportion. This is more just a general statement, than a response to the quote, but I find it funny that everyone blames Bay for everything they don't like. While it's true he has a good deal of pull, he didn't write the thing, or draw up all those concept sketches or w/e. It's like Bay is the only one who sexually assaulted your childhood or something, at least distribute the hate evenly. But whatever, like I said, everyone is entitled to their opinions. Some of the hate just seems silly to me. -
The one on the left looks like a render, maybe from the game.

I would agree, there was some comic relief but to me it felt I dunno..right. Especially the antics with Simons and Sam's parents, it was almost a requirement after the first film. I really have an appreciation for Starscream in this one too, way more in line with how his character is normally. The twins were more likable the second time around. I don't really subscribe to the whole "Autobots wouldn't act like that" argument I've seen on this and other boards. I mean it's an entire race of machines, much like us, there are bound to be all kinds of personality types/traits or whatnot. Yeah they are a little goofy, but Prime is easily my favorite character and I really love the amount of screen time he gets. -

Saw it again with some friends tonight and liked it way better than the first. All my friends enjoyed it too, which was nice. There was definitely stuff I missed the first time that I was able to pick up on this second run through. I'll probably log another few trips at the theater before it leaves. -
Nope, and as I recall Cameron had some legal battles over keeping the Avatar name because of Last Airbender.

Well in Beast Wars it did kinda of seem that way, though in Animated it seemed that they were basically...well baby Transformers. I read an article on...seibertron I think it was where Bay and the writers asked the Hasbro suits where new Transformers came from and they basically looked at eachother and said, "well, we don't really know". I don't think Bay's interpretation of it is any less valid than the BW or Animated take, and it pretty much falls in line with what exists already. -

You can't really base your choice to see it based on what other people say. I mean the opinions in this thread alone have been all over the place. If you at least enjoyed the first but wanted more bot action, I'd say chance it, there has been way worse stuff out this summer. Some of us loved it (myself included) but peoples suggestions are going to be just as varied as their opinions about the movie. -

Yeah, user reviews have been way more positive than critics. I really don't put much stock in what people like Roger Ebert or whatever say about films like this. Especially since Transformers is such a big part of my childhood personally, their experiences at the movie likely wont be anything close to mine. -

I actually just borrowed SotC from a buddy, it's a lot of fun. I'd like to expand my PS3 library some truth be told, but so many of my friends opt for 360 over PS3 (even though several of us have both) it just makes sense for us all to get it on the same system, especially with games like Street Fighter 4. On another note, while I know we have a Mass Effect thread, it looks like Bioware is hinting at a new piece of DLC for the first ME. They said to keep a look out next week for more potential info. -

Hmmm might have to hold out for a Takara release than and see what kinds of improvements they might offer. Provided they're changing anything this time around. I'm really tempted though regardless, thanks for the heads up Shin. -

I really want the new Leader Prime, I actually have grown quite fond of the movie design and this is probably the closest we'll get to a movie accurate one. He seems pretty darn close, so I'm not entirely sure an MP would be warranted. I do have a question about him though, the pictures I've seen in this thread seem to show him having metallic gray areas versus the sort of dull gray from the previous release. Is that standard? Or was it part of the custom work that was done on that figure? I haven't had a chance to snoop the toy sections and get a look for myself yet. More to the point: in this image http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&id=68099 I realize that the weathering and some of the other details were added, but is the silver that nice on the legs and such out of the box? -

Just some interesting figures from Fandango for the films debut. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen enjoyed a spectacular debut on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to Fandango, the nation’s leading movie ticketing destination. Among the stats: • Last night Fandango sold out more than 2,000 midnight and late night/early morning show times nationwide. • Fandango has been selling more than 8 Transformers tickets per second during peak periods, prior to opening day. That number could rise today. • Transformers 2 currently represents 94% of all ticket sales on Fandango (as of 9:00 a.m. PT today). • Transformers 2 now ranks as Fandango’s biggest pre-sales title of the year to date. • Transformers 2 is selling twice as many tickets as Iron Man sold on Fandango at the same point in that film’s sales cycle. • Midnight showtimes of Transformers 2 were sold out across the country, from Abingdon, Maryland to Yuba City, CA. One theater in Las Vegas sold out as many as ten midnight showtimes." I know where I was there was 4-5 lines snaked around the entire building for both regular and IMAX screenings and Fandango is sold out of IMAX tickets for the next week on in my area for every showing but like 2 am ones. Love it or hate it, at least the movie is generating lots of revenue for a franchise we all love or enjoy in some capacity.
