Yeah, I just got my survey as well. Kind of a bummer it didn't come a few days earlier, but I'm only out 2-3 dollars worth of points. I imagine they'll add more cosmetic stuff on there eventually that I can get with the extras. Maybe something cool like Klingon armor for fed-Klingons. Leveling my fed Klingon up kinda sucks since I just finished leveling last week on my human. But it's much more in line with what I wanted to play originally, so it works out.

Well despite being an admiral, I've opted to start over as a Federation Klingon. It's only a few bucks, and it's a race I'd much rather play. Also the 10% to threat racial will be very beneficial as I'll still fly cruisers.

There is a list on the STO forums of every canon models faults/flaws as well as bugs with other models. At least one dev has posted on the thread about fast tracking some changes and I know the Steamrunner was listed. So perhaps we'll see things changed in the future.

It's not the best way, but it's a good way to pad things. I didn't run out of content once. I basically just outfitted my ship with some shiney torps and phasers from exploration marks and then went on my way doing episodes. And I would just do that for each ship tier when the appropriate exploration missions became available. You can get into some really pricey shields, deflectors and engines too if you want, but most of the time I just did the weapons and left the rest to story missions and so forth. My biggest recommendation though would be to read the quest text and in-mission dialogue. There is a ton of great stuff, some good story and lots of references to places, characters and events from everything from TOS to Nemesis and the destruction of Romulus in the new movie. Doing this vastly improved my enjoyment of the experience.

Every space cruiser I've seen looks like a shovel with some Nacels tacked on, but I like the lines on what you put together. And I agree about the exploration missions, I gathered huge amounts of exp/levels from getting decent phasers and quantums for my various ships.

I think things are just very rough right now, at Admiral there isn't a ton to do ye. Much of the Borg based "raidisodes" aren't in. Ultimately quest rewards+exploration marks for gear has been the most efficient way to gear out your ship. There is currently one daily quest that rewards 5 exploration marks that are special and can be used to claim epic (very rare/purple) Admiral X items, unfortunately for ship weapons the selection is almost entirely based on the admiral ranked weaponry. So they definitely need to make things more robust and add lots of things to do. However they have a ton of stuff in the pipe so I think patience will pay off big time. No MMO is perfect at launch. I do wish leveling were harder even though I'm glad to have my favorite ship already.

So apparently the level cap is 45 (though I could swear they have said 50). I still have stuff to do but I'm hesitant to see if they are going to open the last 5 levels. As it stands you can't even spec fully into two talents from the admiral tree, which doesn't make much sense. So I'm just sticking to exploration for a bit to get some nice gear for my ship.

He's destroyed games way worse than he did ME2, though in this case I feel his issues are pretty valid. Instead of refining things like planet exploration and inventory, Bioware just hacked it out with a chainsaw. Still his commentary was pretty funny, as it usually is.

My only concern about future titles beyond Shepard's story is well...how do you top it? The guy (or girl) will save the universe from an extinction cycle that has lasted hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years. I mean how do you top Shepard? How does anyone in the galaxy even compare?

Ask and ye shall receive. Those are my two favorite designs as well. The images are large, so I just made a photobucket album: http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b355/kai...0Trek%20Online/

I believe that's what he meant yeah, the ME after Shepard's trilogy is over. MMO would be good if they could pull it off, the universe is certainly rich enough and large enough for that kind of set up.

Hit admiral yesterday and picked up a Sovereign and the fleet escort. The escorts dps is nice, but ultimately I didn't like it. The Sovereign is pretty agile especially with points in cruisers and assault cruisers. Unfortunately my spec needs a little tweaking now, hopefully they are able to push respecs in the next big content patch like they've been talking about.

I didn't really care for the first wave, especially since I don't like default Shepard, but Garrus and Legion are must buys. Though I guess there is a Grunt one too, so I'd get him as well. Hopefully they do them all, I liked Samara a lot and would definitely pick up a decent figure of her.

That's different, Bioware has already said you wont see the end the ME universe with ME3. The choices you make, and the way 3 ends could be only minimally referenced in future ME titles. Furthermore if it was about Anderson, it'd be in the past and covering the events of Ascension or prior, so what happens in Shepard's story would have no impact.
-
I think ultimately there will be more than 3 endings. All the choices of 1 and 2 will culminate in 3, who is alive, who is dead, who your allies may or may not be, who lives and who dies, as well as if the Reapers are totally defeated and at what cost and whether or not the Galaxy is united and equal or you put humanity on top. Since they have no ME4 to worry about tying things up in, the potential variations on outcomes are quite large, and Bioware has said that they really want to open all of these up for players.

Hit Captain and got my Galaxy tonight and I love it. It does turn like a bus, but it feels appropriate for the ship and doesn't take too much altering to my previous strategy for flying Cruisers to line things up right. I took probably 100 glamor shots of the thing, I'll have to post a couple good ones just for kicks. As a tactical officer, I'm really liking how my abilities help counter the cruisers downsides. That being said, I already have my eyes on the Sovereign. Looking at the stats for it, it basically fits perfectly into how I want to play as an assault cruiser ship. Only 9 levels to go.

I believe you're right, which also means that even if you were playing with all people your own level, it would seem to favor escort captains. It's way early so hopefully they'll come up with a better solution. I suppose on the bright side, the "raid" content they have is likely to be challenging and is based on 5 players, so it pays to do it with friends and group up.

I've been pretty basic with my configs, and probably will stay that way. It's been phasers and quantums and that will likely continue in my Galaxy and Sovereign setups, especially since I'm opting to specialize in those weapons now too. I was a little concerned about power drain on my Heavy Cruiser, but so far it's been pretty easy to maintain a 70ish% power level during full barrages against big targets. It has however become much more crucial to approach from 20km out or so and normal speeds to let my weapon energy recover.

Haha, that's a pretty good idea. Maybe once I hit Captain I'll do that just for kicks. The Galaxy is so big it'll just add to the fun of swooping through Mirandas

I'm stoked about HA Jazz, he is worlds better than what was released before. I've been debating buying HA figures for a while, but I will definitely cave for Jazz. Some other neat stuff too. On another note, I do wish that Hasbro would spring for paint that looked like it does in their official product shots.

The exploration mission are awesome for some easy gear and exp. It's what I'm currently doing for Mark VI weapons. I'm trying to save my credits because all the Captain level ships are classics, I plan on scooping them all up at some point just to have.

Well I hit Commander this morning and opted to go Heavy Cruiser. I gotta say, that thing is a beast, it has good survivability and cranks out a lot of damage. It's broadside of 4 phasers pretty much melts anything my lvl or lower. It's turning isn't horrid, but it's not great, luckily it packs such a punch torps are more of an option rather than a necessity. Currently 25, looking forward to getting a Galaxy soon.

It was "unexpected" downtime, but now they are pushing the patch forward and leaving things down till 12am, instead of pulling the whole thing down at 3am pst. Oh well...it's the weekend, I'll likely hop on after and finish my level at least.

Indeed, picking him up involves a simple conversation and that's all. Just because they recommend getting Mordin first doesn't mean you are obligated to. I've had friends go get Grunt as their first character. Mordin is just nice to have early since he allows access to the upgrades console.

Hopefully they eventually add that for the Intrepid. But yeah Scimitars are different, I haven't seen one of those yet, but me and David definitely fought some Valdores in beta. Yeah I read that too David, I believe STO and Star Trek Legacy (or a mod for it) listed the Valdore as a different class, oh well. They are cruising around in game though. Hopefully they do make Romulans playable in future as I'd love to fly one.
