I too would prefer some less popular characters *cough* Springer *cough* but it'll probably never happen. These figures almost certainly take the most time and money to develop, so Takara/Hasbro is probably only really willing to bite the bullet on stuff they know will sell. I would love to see some characters that don't get a lot of figures made turned into higher grade toys. Cyclonus is a perfect example, his classics mold was pretty awesome for the time (and still is). But we really don't have many options to choose from with him. I'd like to see an improved Megatron to follow this new Prime (maybe not immediately, but someday) as I never really liked the original. I'd love to see a triple changer get MP treatment, it doesn't even have to be Springer. Hell give us a REAL Ultra Magnus. So I definitely would like to see some other characters get MP treatment. All that being said, the much improved articulation that this new Prime seems to have is enough for me to want him, and I haven't bought an MP (though I've thought about it) since MP-01.

I like it. As I only have one MP Prime, I may ultimately pick this up. I threw a pre-order down now just in case. Space may ultimately be the deciding factor as Sideshow's Prime is supposed to begin shipping sometime this month.

Personally I always thought the SR1 looked a little...off. I prefer the SR2 vastly (it is about the only good thing Cerberus has ever done).
-
Personally I like the new paintjob. The Normandy should not have Cerberus branding on it...ever. I don't care if they built the SR-2. Additionally, I'm pretty stoked Cerberus is against Shep in 3m hopefully we get a chance to confront the Illusive Man on our own terms this time. I didn't like him at all, and I especially didn't like how he tried to dictate his BS to me. And I'm glad Bioware has pushed back 3. Polish that game to a mirror finish. Flesh out everything appropriately (like being able to have a friendship with crew mates and not just multiple romances like you had with Jack) and don't fall prey to EA syndrome. Take all the time you need to make this the perfect ME experience and the perfect ending to this trilogy.

The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread

As I recall, it is mandated in the contracts with the various car companies that their vehicles need to stay essentially pristine. Now why a company that makes semis would care is an entirely different matter. But it at least provides some explanation. Additionally that Hasbro page had Soundwave's alt mode listed as the Mercedes SLS, however since the page's update that info has already been pulled and replaced with "satellite". Perhaps we got an early slip, or maybe it was an honest mistake, we shall see. -
Alien Anthology Blu-ray Oct 26th

You know, I got this set for Christmas and still have yet to put any of them in the Bluray player....I should probably remedy that. Also, are there additional bonus features over the old Quadrilogy that was released on DVD? Because I think I watched every minute of those (I love that kinda stuff) so if they included even more that'd be awesome. -

This is Michael Bay you are talking about, every movie he makes has a "more 'splosions" clause built into the contract he signs. Everything I've read though, indicates the improvements go farrr beyond mere splosions. I seriously cannot wait for this movie. I also love that, as you look at the films as a trilogy, Prime seems to get exponentially more bad ass with each one. I also like how the focus seems to shift to him and his importance starting in RotF and heading into DotM. I know Bee is a fan favorite, especially with the live action audience, but nothing beats more screen time for Prime. -
Seibertron.com typically has in box images of figures, and they have huge galleries. You might check there.

Well at they very least they put together one of the coolest trailers I've ever seen. -

Well I believe there was talk of Cybertron being shown. So they could be leaving to take the fight home (though I'm not sure what this would accomplish since it seems every Decepticon of note is on or near earth at this point). -

Excellent point. However I still feel the need to state it whenever some new TF...thing is launched. Probably stems from being traumatized at the tend age of 5 watching Prime get the axe in the animated movie -

Good god this looks epic. I cannot wait to shell out my 45 dollars (or w/e it is now) for IMAX for this thing. Edit: Oh and Prime better live -
I'd like to say "it couldn't be worse than Salvation" but it easily could be. This is a franchise they either need to let die, or pay Cameron an ass load of money to come back and try to straiten things out. This franchise has been handled so poorly after T2 (and the lack of a Prime continuity probably has something to do with it). I'm all for classic franchises getting new movies, or re-imaginings as long as they're GOOD.

Just got Warpath in today and I must say he is pretty darn cool. He's a little smaller in both modes than I would have expected looking at images, but he's still a very cool Transformer and the transformation process is fun and clever. I would definitely recommend him, though I probably wouldn't suggest paying the increased online prices for him unless the character is a personal favorite. I'm glad I have him for the collection though.

I was thinking the same thing. It's easy to suspend disbelief when the entire premise of the movie is based around that idea.

Am I missing something in that link? They have lots of remakes listed but I didn't see anything indicating an updated Tron. Personally, I'd like to see it, but I'd rather resources went to developing new material in that universe such as Tron 3. It's also probably way too much work for such a cult flick. Legacy is much more accessible to general audiences, and I don't think a new coat of paint on the original would do much to change it's status. It's likely not worth the investment.

well the first one could literally be beaten in like 3-4 hours the first go around. Most reviewers are saying 9-10 (some disgruntled people are saying its shorter and ranting about microtransactions that are included so I doubt they are representing it accurately). General consensus is that its longer than the first and quite good. I haven't picked it up yet, but I intend to here shortly. I enjoyed the first one immensely and will happily support Valve. I just wish they'd get on with more Half Life already. -
Even though his face wasn't ever really shown, I'd buy a hot toys Rinzler/Tron in a heartbeat. I'd be less inclined to buy Clu, but he would be easily doable as well. They could even offer the lightcycle in multiple colors if it sells well. I'm kinda surprised to see the actor who played Sam get criticized. I thought all the acting in the movie was great, and in general the movie is one of my favorites. I really hope the sequel brings back Tron. There was no evidence he actually derezzed, so hopefully he returns. A Sark/MCP/Dillinger's son vs Tron battle would be pretty epic.

The few reviews I've seen pop up so far for MK have been largely positive. I'll probably pick it up eventually. This year is gonna be so awesome for games. We've had a strong start already and with all the titles coming up, ME3, Duke Nukem, Zelda remake for 3DS etc, it's going to be an expensive, but good year. -
Got a shipping notice from BBTS today for the new Warpath figure. While he cost a bit more than he would at a store, the lack of new products out there makes me glad I just ordered him. I'll post some impressions later in the week. I've been eying the Bludgeon that was released not all that long ago (the tank with the samurai-esque alt mode) does anyone have one and have any thoughts about the fig? Seeing the headrobot set for him that's coming out has me very tempted to buy him.
-
Lot of assumptions being made already, I'm going to try and reserve judgment though. Most of the changes seem like exactly what many of us asked for. The fact Bioware stripped out almost all RPG elements from 2 was one of the biggest flaws imo.

I haven't bought an MP since the original Prime, but I'd probably plunk down for a modernized version of him. That being said, something like Ginrai or Star Convoy would be a major pass for me. I've always thought the designs were majorly meh. Modernized Prime or someone new and compelling enough to buy. While they are way to minor to probably ever warrant the MP treatment, a proper triple changing MP Springer would be instant buy for me, as would an MP Cyclonus, heck even Jazz (though less minor than the previous two) would be pretty cool.

The guy who is heading STO at this time basically said that Klingons will eventually get a proper PVE progression, but it will never be close to what the feds have. He also mentioned (in a somewhat dickish way) that only 12% of the STO pop plays Klingon and they weren't really worth putting tons of focus on. My response is honestly, when your second faction is pretty much piss it's not a wonder no one plays them. Klingon faction players have less ships, armor options, pve missions, hell we even have less weapon options for purchase with the early exploration currency. That and they pretty much took a dump all over established canon (this could be applied to the whole of STO honestly). I've come back to the game a couple of times now and genuinely enjoyed it, but that fades within a week or so when there isn't anything of value to do. It's an mmo so a grind is pretty much unavoidable at some point, but cryptic makes it about as monotonous as they possibly can. The game honestly needs another 6 months to a year before it could even begin to start being called a complete package. Right now it just feels like a really long beta test where they neglect an entire faction.

I saw a single article on this regarding loose hinges, but it doesn't seem widespread at all. I've heard of the system locking and needing to be sent to the big N for repairs more than this. In either case reports have been extremely limited from what I've read. But like all problems, people who have them are going to make the most noise. Those that don't probably don't have much reason to chime in as they are enjoying their new gadgets. This is a Nintendo product after all, their Quality, by and large, is unmatched amongst the hardware makers. -

Yeah, the 3D Ive seen is really awesome, though it's really just menu stuff for me currently. I was reading a Kotaku article about the 3DS and it quoted Nintendo as saying they aren't planning any revised hardware releases this year. Which would be nice, from a personal perspective anyways, I'd like to see the current model stick around. Heck if the big N can put out a better battery that you can swap yourself or have put in for free (or cheaply) it'd probably make the thing perfect. It's pocket presence isn't that bad really, I imagine the DS XL is way worse. Nintendo always comes up with something, I'm just curious as to what they'd improve upon without making it cost a fair amount more.
