Official Gundam Seed Destiny Thread

You know... Is it just me, or is Shin an idiot? He blames Kira (well, he doesn't KNOW Kira did it.. but he blames the pilots of Freedom/Forbidden/etc) for the death of his family, but isn't it his sister's fault? I mean, she was the idiot who apparently valued a pink flip-top cameraphone more then her own damn life and refused to keep running for the ship until she got it back.. That, and Shin's pretty damn creepy for having kept that thing for so long. -

It may not be their fault. It sounds like they couldn't license the music.. could of been that they were too cheap to, but it just as easily could of been the same problem as with several '80s TV Shows (Tour of Duty?) where they band(s) that did the song either wanted exorbanent amounts for the license or simply no longer existed TO license from. -
I'm sorry... but... All that seems able to express my amusement at that is the silly smily above.

From what I get from the official site is that the Zero squad wasn't shot down at all but that they got caught up in a Cyclopse system blast. Mwu was able to get out of range. For all we know there could have been another Mobius Zero pilot who could wipe the floor with Mwu. I suspect that once SEED's run gets towards the end they'll update "spacial-awarness" to Newtype. Don't want to spoil it half way though. Either way, hopefully they'll explain everything by the end of Destiny. Really? I've only been watching the Dub, so I hadn't gotten that far (although I think that is starting up this friday..) and thought the rest of the Mobius Squadren was snuffed out before Mwu was sent on guard duty for the ship delivering the pilots. Oh well. n.n; -

Where did they mention his genetics got screwed up? Ah finnaly some info on Prayer. Is he another Ariga clone? What's his background? If neither the Alliance nor ZAFT knew about the existance of Newtypes then that would mean a geneticaly "normal" person could operate the Gunbarrel and DRAGOON system as long as they were gifted/skilled enough. Meaning: A: The Alliance got lucky in unknowingly getting all Newtypes for the Mobius Zero squad that Mwu was a part of. B: You just have to be extreemly gifted/skilled to use those weapon systems. From what I understand, the Mobius Zero merely required a pilot with "exceptional spatial awareness" to operate. What exactly "exceptional spatial awareness" is considered to be is another matter entirely. Given Mwu is the only one to SURVIVE out of that squadron, it may very well be that non-newtypes can use such weapons.. just not as well as a Newtype. -

The HCM Pro series is entirely nice, strong, sturdy ABS plastic. No drooping, no softness to worry about. I have both the Zaku (grunt) and Rick-Dom and they're rather nice. The Rick-Dom's elbows will pop off the upper arm if you fiddle with them carelessly, but they go right back on. Sweet. The mono-eyes are even posable. They're a bit limited because the accessories are attached to specific hands.. So you HAVE to have the Zaku hold its heat hawk, zaku bazooka, or zaku machinegun in its right hand. Likewise, the Rick-Dom's beam bazooka or heat saber have to be held in its right hand. They're very nicely painted, nicely detailed.. The Zaku has a set of pistons in the upper thigh that flex when you bend the leg, the Rick-Dom has an attached, jointed ankle-piston that moves with the foot as well. They're not that much smaller then MSiA's, either, so they're not absolutely TINY. -

*Shudders* The Char's Counterattack figures.. Hell, the HILTS for the beam-hawks wilt. The-O's blades, atleast mine, wilt where they join the hilt. As for pictures of them, I'll get to those after I get home from classes.

The Xamel, if you like the design, is perfectly fine. It's simply not a design you can dynamicly pose, however. The-O /is/ disappointing, though. One of the main features it that it can weild 4 beam sabers at once.. but the saber blades are so limp that it'll look horrible within a day or two.
-
The Xamel is a lump.. it can't do a damned thing. The-O is nice, but it's beam saber blades are wet noodles. They sag BADLY under their own weight, so posing it with them is just not an option. It's surprisingly posable for something as bulky as it is, though.

Yes, the Sword Striker's sword is horribly limp. =\ That's the one downside to it.. and something they thankfully improved in the Sword Impulse. It's the change in material, by the way, not the thickness that makes it sturdy. The Ginns are wonderful! Miguel's orange Ginn comes with a beam launcher that's a sleeker equivilent to the Rick-Dom's (It reminds me more of a very hefty sniper-cannon then a beam bazooka, infact), while the grunt Ginn comes with a standard bazooka. Both have the Ginn Rifle and Heavy Sword as well as the calve-mounted missile pods (yet the colors seem swapped). Posability is quite nice.. double-jointed knees/elbows, balljointed head, hinged clavicals (Shoulder armor heavily restricts this, though), okay ankles. If you get both, I'd switch their rocket launcher pods so that Miguel gets the orange-capped ones and the grunt gets the green-capped ones.

Nicol was a guy, although it IS a bit hard to tell.. By all means, go for it. The Blitz Gundam seems quite nice so far. With all its accessories built into the shield it doesn't offer much in the way of versatility, but at the very least you could get the Strike Rogue as well for the Sword pack and.. err.. spoilers. If you've seen far enough in the series, you'll know. Also, on the saggyness of the blade.. The blade itself isn't saggy. It's the hilt's connection to the shield. It's too shallow to support the weight of the hilt+blade fully. Had the plug been deeper, it likely would of been just fine (but also likely would of messed up the appearance).
