  1. Typically the re-releases have the nosecone stabilization fix (i.e. the tabs that make it so the nosecone doesn't fall off when a moth coughs in Wisconsin). The boxes don't have the paper-ripping velcro tabs on the lids anymore. The wing flaps are a little more stable as well (i.e. see moth comment above). Also, minor issues like crooked pilot seats and paint issues appear to be better than before. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I think this covers the big differences.
  2. Roger that. Apathetic Friggin a-hole would be my characterization. Lots of cool stuff in that shop though. The store is indeed no longer there. Last time I was there was probably 10 years ago. I wish I could go back in time with the money I have now - but don't we all? Three best remaining anime/import goods stores left are all on Geary. Two near Geary & 19th and a few stores in Japantown.

    SDF-1, TV and DYRL

The SDF-1/Macross needs a GERWALK mode!
  4. You can probably guess which movie I just watched...
  5. The 1J pictured has already been released as it is 1/60 scale.
  6. WOW! That is some great news! I'm really glad Yamato decided to go this route. I'm sure it will have fantastic "perfect transformation" in the mode of the 1/48. Can't wait! Bring on the prototype pics!
  7. Would be great (but highly unlikely) if they made a full Legios-Tread box set all-in-wonder...maybe with a custom paint scheme. Don't get me wrong, I nearly despise my Shadow Alpha for all of its faults, but a box set of both together would be a nice display piece as long as it stayed in the box!
  8. Thanks! The OYW version doesn't have individual fingers, but it can be easily modified by cutting them apart from one another. They're ball-jointed, so they don't fall out or anything. A really easy modification - just be careful when you x-acto them apart, cause those tiny parts like to go flying! To airbrush small parts (like individual fingers), I used the tip from the fichtenfoo.com site - where you wrap duct tape backwards around a skewer and stick small parts to it. Worked great. I used Tamiya royal blue, thinned only slightly.
  9. Here's my latest finished model, the Gundam v. One Year War - with an alternate paint scheme (I'm so sick of the standard scheme!).
  10. I WAS OFF BY TEN DOLLARS! KAWAMORI FORGIVE ME!
  11. I guess you didn't see the "my guess" portion of my initial post? So $149.99 + shipping = about $150+ right? Maybe even $160 if you buy it early and get it shipped from HK...
  12. Hence my uptick guess in prices (indicated U.S.).
  13. I really hope the next foray is a good quality "serious" U.C. storyline. Something along the lines of 0083 without being too derivative. They have fairly milked the franchise on all fronts, so avoiding being derivative will be difficult. But as long as there's good U.C. mech action, I guess I can forgive another colony drop/love triangle/hijacked gundam/endless prototypes.
  14. Cynical response: I wonder how much more expensive this release will be? My guess: VF-1S - $160 U.S. Fast Packs - $85 U.S.
  15. Any word at all on a possible MP-03? Or is the masterpiece line pretty much dead?
  16. I've got a recent Hobby Japan with some adverts. and a great foldout art piece of parachuting Scopedogs that seems to refer to something new. Text is in japanese, so I of course can't translate. This, coupled with the resurgence of all things Votoms - you'd think we'd be looking at something new in the way of an anime movie/series. Any word on potential developments? Or what the adverts are all about?
  17. Wow, awesome work. I'm not a JM fan either, but this looks great! Proportion and detail are fantastic.
  18. /counts the seconds until every Star Wars character gets the potato-head treatment in typical star wars merchandizing-oversaturation style. Any bets on Yoda being next?
  19. I am crying for Michael Madsen's poor, poor soul. Not even the hockey-hair will save him. Somebody needs to choke his agent for hooking him up with ol' Blunderhead McScrewup (Uwe). I heard Uwe Boll has a sign over his office that reads "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here".
  20. The ending of that condensed script is classic.
  21. Cue "Age of Aquarius" song: Cool extrasolar planet story: http://exoplanets.org/gl876_web/press_release_NSF.htm Summary: 10+ times the size of earth, but allegedly rocky. Orbits in the Aquarius system but likely does not support life as its surface temp. ranges in the 500 to 700 degree range.
