  1. Damn...that is just amazing looking. Excellent work, especially on the customized decals for the fast pack. Truly fantastic work. The perfection of the 1/48 certainly lends itself to some awesome customs.
  2. Release a 1S Low-Vis - the original Low-Vis remains "limited", and the new 1S can be as well. Problem solved.
  3. I just hope that the release of the 1/48 Max and Millia doesn't signal the END of the 1/48 line. I know that they're not Bandai or anything...but what else can they really make? Graham's already said no two-seaters, so that rules out the VT-1, VE-1 and VF-1D, leaving pretty much only the CF, right?
  4. I hope the cockpit isn't opaque like that. Hopefully that's just a prototype issue.
  5. This demo is stunning. Really fun and engaging. The graphics are just beautiful. If you have a monster PC and graphics card, it looks sweet. The details are amazing, from the tremendous draw distance, to the sniper sight showing what it "sees" even when not zoomed in. And the gunboat is awesome. Definately worth the 500MB(!) download. I'll be buying this one just for its beauty.
  6. These schemes are awesome. However, I need more VF-1 ideas! I'm working on a customized jetfire and want a unique or interesting paint scheme, perhaps based off of modern day fighter schemes. Keep em' coming!
  7. Everybody panic! Grab your torches and pitchforks, men! /loots Radio Shack.
  8. OK, mere momments after posting and I figure it out. You have to take apart (or at least loosen the screws) of the entire "back" assembly in order to get the joint back in. Doh! Mods can delete this one!
  9. So I'm transforming an old jetfire and the arm and shoulder assembly pops off! Nothing broken, just the metal "H" bracket that facilitates movement of the arms from plane to battroid/gerwalk popped out of its holes. I can't get it back in! There's not enough space to wedge the metal joint back in there! How do you do it? ...seems like some sort of chinese puzzle...
  10. My pessimistic side says we'll probably have to wait until the 25 (or later) rather than sooner. Grrrrr. /pulls out remaining hair.
  11. Jebus. That pic makes me want to stab out my own eyes.
  12. SPOILERS Chase is now hardcore. I have newfound respect for his character. The part where Chase escaped with the wife of the druglord and her father and son was pretty well done, edge-of-your-seat. Too bad she got capped in the process. But she was getting irritating anyway. She also looked like a Jim Hensen creation.
  13. hmm. 72 views and no reply. Can anyone hazard a guess? I'd like to make sure I have the right and complete sets for the Low Vis and its fast packs.
  14. I'd like to add some of those well-renowned Takatoys stickers to my low-vis with fast packs. Do I need to buy the "Low-vis set", the "Low-vis Option set" and/or the "Fast Pack set". I'm unclear as to which set or combination of sets I should get...please advise! Also, should I just use the Yamato 1/48 sticker placement instructions, or is there a better resource somewhere? Thanks.
  15. Thanks. Should have looked throughout the whole thread. Excellent fix. Looks pretty easy.
  16. My apologies if this has been addressed already...maybe I can be provided with a link to the answer.. The socket-leg joint on my 1/48 - the black rubber gasket inside is starting to "twist out" from inside. The "O-ring (a shared fatal flaw with the space shuttle?) that sits against the inside of the "thigh" also appears to be tweaked and splitting open. Is there a way to remedy this without taking apart the leg and not touching it anymore? I've only transformed it maybe 3 times and its doing this already. I wish I could provide a picture, but my digital camera died.
  17. My wife finally acknowledged my obsession with Macross toys and Giant Robots in general. This year she got me the 1/60 Elintseeker. I was afraid she was going to ignore that portion of "the list" entirely, but she surprised me! Now that we've bought a condo, I'm sure she'll keep reminding me to keep the pursestrings tight. If a 1/48 VF-0D comes out next year, I'll get a second job if I have to to pay for it!
  18. I was under the impression that it would include a Millia pilot figure...maybe its just too early to show it yet, but am I wrong on this? Seems like such a detailed cockpit should merit a pilot.
  19. Thanks for the scans/pics. The backs of the legs look great. The differences are most readily apparent when lined up next to the old version. The magazine has a before and after pic at the end of the feature. I really wish this could be a kit. IMO its much improved over the original.
  20. The waste area, legs arms and most noticeably shoulders are all a "new" design...an improvement on the old IMO.
  21. It appears to be from the Gundam Evolve series. I think #5 in the series. It would be nice to see a run of Evolve kits.
  22. Its on the cover. Sorry, no interior scans unless someone else can do it. EDIT: The cover doesn't really do it justice. The modifications and detail is amazing (as are most customs in HJ). I think the changes to the arms are most interesting...which can be seen on the cover.
  23. I don't have detailed scans and the cover of Hobby Japan 412 doesn't really do it justice, but this "New Generations 2" version of the RX-93 Nu Gundam is absolutely beautiful. I was never really a fan of this Gundam, but this custom-built modification is perfect. I really hope they make this a FIX release or a kit. Anyone think they will?
  24. I'll add my vote for the Banpresto as being the single worst "action figure" I've ever known. The only "action" this figure has is exploding and causing seething anger. Never before has an action figure actually made me want to stab out my own eyes in sheer disdain for its too-numerous-to-list QA/QC problems. Indeed, as I opened the package, Kawamori appeared behind me Obi-Wan style, and he shed a tear like the indian in a anti-littering commercial. Holding a Banpresto in your hand as it crumbles into its base molecular structure will make you rue the day you spent the $10 or so on it. Spend the $10 on toothpicks and glue to construct your own Banpresto, for it will surely be a finer specimen than the Banpresto. Rest assured that they won't even stand up to be shot by a BB gun. I suggest immediate immolation or, as it is crumbling before your eyes, hurtle it against an outdoor wall (to avoid the need of cleaning up its low-quality sub-plastic parts). You would be better off printing a picture of a battroid off the internet. Even a 2D rendering would have better poseablity and lasting value. I could go on, but speaking about a Banpresto, much less actually owning one, can cause permanent psychological damage. Abandon Hope All Ye Who Purchase a Banpresto!
  25. My favorite of the films is Empire. Too bad Lucas completely killed 99% of my starwars fanboy fervor when he made Episode 1, and then the coup de grace with Episode 2. Subsequent to those two terrible, atrocious movies, my star wars fandom has declined dramatically. I no longer am interested in toys/figures like I used to be, even reissues or new figures from the original trilogy. While I won't go so far as to say that "Lucas raped my childhood", he did assault it pretty thoroughly, leaving a bloodied, disenchanted former fanboy in his wake. At this point I'd rather see another installment of Howard the Duck than another Star Wars. We all know how it ends and how laughably bad Lucas's direction, dialogue and storyline will lead up to it.
