This might sound stupid. I was thinking that in order to take off, VB-6 probably starts running really fast and jump and transform to fighter

I don't think the VB-6 has any landing gear. None is shown in the line-art and in the VF-X2 opening movie, the VB-6 transforms from Shuttle to Gerwalk mode as it lands. Graham Waow, if that's the case, how does it take off from land?

That is the same question that I have in mind as well. The first thing that I notice when I look at the box picture is the big word of "MACROSS" in the front. It almost made me think that this is not ROBOTECH (HG) product at all. Then I notice the HG logo on the top left hand corner of it -
