1. If he made anything for Macross fans, have him make a compact 1/48 box. Those Yammie boxes are rediculous.
2. Funniest thing I saw all day! Instant classic!
3. yeah, any chance youll be able to shrink it to match the 1/48 size? 371641 First one to get these hands shrunk to the right proportion gets my money. Those fat hands just won't do... look like boxing gloves. however, I am down for a few of the side covers. Will PM you fo it. :Dat
4. It might be good, afterall... U L T R A V I O L E N T
5. A 1/48 made of clear parts... sweet...
6. I've not worked on anything but I'm leaning towards a Joke Machine CG model.
7. Wongster - have you seen Dok and Rod's valks? You should check them out... those guys are vets. The fact that they're watching over your thread... you should be honored.
8. They are the same for sure. You know it's fusion, it has a blueish face on the can, like a pastel blue. I'll post a pic later. Is there a difference between Krylon FUSION and FUSION. I thought they were all the same. Can I see pics of both cans? 370612
9. That's very generous of you, EXO. Cost is 50$ but they're going for 30$ to 40$ now and are still not as good as originals which have better overall fit piece to piece and durability. But don't take that as a lack of appreciation... I'm touched by the offer... hahahah (laughing at my dorkness) :Dat beautiful! I have to support your cause now. PM me if you need more JM recasts. That's all I have to offer and I'm only going to sell them for cost. But this offer is only good for you Dat, cuz I know you'll be making something great out of them. Otherwise I wouldn't let them go. 370582
10. Krylon FUSION - Patriotic Blue FUSION - Gloss White Tamiya
11. Straight for sure... the rounded one should not even be an option. RODAVAN... DOK GONZO... those were the days.
12. Hi Graham, Updated the custom JM pics with better quality shots: VF-1A Max TV VF-1D/J And I have a new custom: VF-1J Max
13. Recently used some Tamiyas on a custom. I have to say, the consistency of the thickness of Tamiyas is quite inconsistent. I've got a red that's too thin, a white that is too thick, and ablack that is just right. I own about 7 10ml jars which I only brush on, and none of them have the same consistency. However, they do end up looking great if they are not the thicker dryer ones.
14. I'm staying in the Joke Machines for the pure fact that they can be customized. I have originals, but truth be told, they are definitely lacking in detail. Their design is awesome, but overall presentation could use lots of work. I'll have a complete collection of detailed JM's someday... 3 down, 8 more to go.
15. Updated the original post with shots in all modes.
16. Just finished this up today. Need a few more decals and possibly a fast pack, but I quite like it without the fast pack set. This one has leg armor only at this time. I think all JM"s should have leg armor all the time. Improves the overall balance of the design.
17. How come none of thse Voltron's on the TOYDX site have the ear horns open? You'd think that guy knew exactly how Voltron should look in bot mode.
18. I'd contend the SUPERB black lion comment. Definitely an opinion on both our sides, but I think the Black Lion, although waaaaaayyy better thna the original, still looks like a baboon. The back legs are particualrly unposeable as they have a joint limitation that keeps you from getting any real rear leg relaistic lion poses.
19. is it possible to sue Toynami for ripping of Banpresto. It's almost an exact dupe down to the huge square beg in the arm to hold the arms together in fighter mode... Does look better though. Some minor mods would make it killer. I will NEVER own a mad doll....
20. I had always thought that the TV Rick and the TV Roy were grey. May be a trick of the eyes though cuz for a long time, I thought the Yammie 48 Rick and Roy were off white as well... nope! Even still, if I make a roy or rick in CG or custom toy, I would make it an off white grey tint.
21. From what I have seen - WM Cheng kicks major @$$...
22. The Tamiya thread has got me thinking. I am currently doing custom jobs on Joke machines and 1/48's and have seen a lot of great looking customs using airbrushed paints. Right now, I use FUSION and looking to try car paints as they are considered the most durable and likely to hold up to transformations. Which should I use, Model paints or Car paints? Which can stand the wear best? I like the FUSION since I don't own an airbrush so if I went model paints, I would likely rely on brushing. Lately, spray paints have been giving me bubbling and adhesion problems despite lengthy surfacwe preptime. Brushing model paints: - Would it go on evenly? - How durable is it? - Will sealing it and coating it make it strong enough for multiple xforms? - How thick does the coat become? Any info you all have would help.
23. I am hoping for an Angelbirds 1A. Would be SWEET! 366367 It'll never happen... just make your own.
