  1. I'd probably go with a 1/48 VF-1A Mass Production "Cannon Fodder". It's the cheapest of all the good valks, comes with the TV style hands, and doesn't have any QC issues. It's probably the best one to start out with and get a feel for the line.
  2. It's beautiful. *tear*
  3. Dude, just get a photobucket or imageshack account.
  4. Thanks for all the replies guys. do not disturb, if you've got painted missiles, let's just say I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands. Can I PM you later? I'm away at school at the moment and all my valks are at home. I get back at the end of April though. I'd be glad to pay for shipping both ways, and I'll throw in a few dollars just for your time to show my gratitute. And you REALLY don't want to see me try and custom paint something. I've tried my hand at it one or two times... and every time it's come out pretty bad. I'd trust a pro over my sloppy handiwork anyday.
  5. Looks pretty slick.
  6. Just curious to know what other paintschemes might be considered or at all likely for future 1/60 VF-0 releases. Anyone got any possibilities?
  7. After looking at the customs forums and drooling at all the sweet paintjobs, I'm curious to know what it might cost to have some of the 1/48 missiles touched up. I'm terrified of doing this myself for fear of screwing it up. Basically I'm looking at having red tips with black bands painted on the regular three missile clusters and maybe more. So I'm not looking for anything major, but I'm curious to know A) Who would I contact for something like this? and B) What would some minor paint work cost?
  8. I'd be careful as poo while doing this and I wouldn't recommend it if it's avoidable, but you could try this I find that in order for the back thing to stay up you have to jam it in so that one part goes past the little peg and it sits askew at an angle. That's what works for me. But like I said, be CAREFUL, don't use too much force, and whatever you do, don't blame me if you break your valk while doing this. Can't say I didn't warn you. Good luck though.
  9. I look at these pix two or three times a day... that custom is just so damn beautiful I have to post twice!
  10. That thing is just beautiful.
  11. Does the combo set come with fixes from the first release? Curious to know.
  12. Looks pretty slick. Can't wait to get mine!
  13. "focused" being the key word here. There are far too many nimrods running around out there who don't seem to understand this concept.
  14. Complete squadrons for various modes, like the Hikaru/Max/Kanzaki squad with each set being it's own mode, like robot, another in gerwalk, and another in fighter. Sames goes for the Angel Birds, Low Viz, and so on. Plus extras for fastpack modes, a few fastpacked squadrons. Plus a couple of extras to fiddle with. But my my list is primarily motivated by the "ideally" in the title of the thread. Chances are that I'll never even come CLOSE to meeting that 72 fig target. But a man can dream... oh yes, a man can dream... and win the lottery *rushes out to the convinience store* But in terms of what I could actually afford. I'd go with another YF-19, another VF-0A, and maybe an Angel Birds.
  15. My Macross dream collection of existing items would be: 1/60 VF-0A x5 (already have 2) 1/60 VF-0A w/ghost x5 (already have 2, on pre-order) 1/60 SV-51 x5 1/60 YF-19 x3 (already have 2) 1/48 VF-1S Roy x4 (already have 2) 1/48 VF-1S Hikaru x4 (already have 2) 1/48 VF-1J Stealth x4 (already have 1) 1/48 VF-1J Super Stealth x5 (already have 1 1/48 VF-1J Hikaru x1 (have) 1/48 VF-1J Hikaru Super x3 (already have 1) 1/48 VF-1J Max Super x3 1/48VF-1J Miria x3 1/48 VF-1A Hikaru x4 1/48 VF-1A Max x4 (alerady have 1) 1/48 VF-1A Kanzaki x3 1/48 VF-1A Cannon Fodder x6 (already have 1) 1/48 VF-1A Angel Birds x3 1/48 VF-1A Low Viz x7 1/48 scale super/strike parts x9 (already have 3) So that's 72 valks in total, of which I have 16 and would like 54.... yeah, like that'll ever happen.
  16. How long does he usually take to reply to an e-mail? I went to his website and e-mailed him through the addy he gives there, but it's been two days and nothing. Just curious to know if I should be worried or not...
  17. Last run of the 1/48 A/J/S set? Damn, I'd better order some!
  18. Agreed. Some more testing to make sure that a lot of these problems are never voiced by the fans would be good. Doesn't matter if it delays the release, I'd much rather wait longer for a toy with few/none QC issues. I think that's a big one right there.
  19. What other colour could you possibly want it in? Shin's blue 0D is the best there is.
  20. In order of importance: - Is there anyway to improve first-release quality control? -but even second releases (VF-0A) have had some issues, not quite as rock solid as the 1/48 VF-1. Can anything be done about this? - Will there be a second run of the YF-19 with fixes? - Are there any plans for a VF-0D release? - Are thre any plans for a VF-11B? (Fastpacks and armour would also be cool) - Are there any plans for the VF-4? - Any way to lower the price without compromising the quality of the toy? I know Yamato is small in comparison to TakaraTomy and Hasbro, but the Masterpiece Optimus Prime is about the same level of awsomeness as, say, the YF-19 and it can be found for $100, as opposed to the YF-19 where you're lucky if you can find it for $160. - Will further toys come with more tampo marking? (Let's face it, it blows the stickers out of the water)
  21. I have yet to understand why some people want a 1/60 perfect transformation so badly. I've been lurking here for about four years now and I think I can say with relative certainty that it just ain't happening. But why do you want one anyway? The 1/48's are awsome as it is, and from what I know they seem to sell pretty well. They're perfect, beautiful, and I wouldn't change that just to make them in scale with the 1/60 VF-0 or YF-19. If you ask me, the VF-1 is pretty tiny in comparison and my 1/48's look just fine sitting next to my VF-0As. Sorry, I don't mean to take it out on you, since you're new here and all. It's just that it feels like I see so many people wanting a perfect transformation 1/60 VF-1 and I really don't think it's worth it nor is it likely to happen.
  22. Hehehehe, good one.
  23. If that is the 0D I'm about ready to crap my pants.
