Alright, well, it looks like I'll go fullsteam ahead. I'm looking at the VF-1A brown "cannon fodder" since it's the cheapest. I'm going with that one as a test just to make sure I really like them before I start putting money into some more expensive guys. But by the looks of it I will not be disappointed. I'll probably have to sell my furniture, but that's ok! Thanks a lot guys!

Just wondering what kind of durability the Yamato 1/48 scale figures have. I'm almost in a position to buy one but I just want to make sure that they don't break or fall apart. So, any complaints or anything I should know about before I pump $150 into one of these guys? The parts I'm most worried about are the hips. I don't want another VF-11B incident. So, how durable are these guys?

These things break and the drop of a hat. My bro's broke after a few months, but by the sounds of it the quality in the original release is just crapudiculous. I'm glad I bought the fastpack version, but even then I'm never transforming it out of fighter mode. Sorry to hear of your loss, I hope you get it fixed soon.

I'll give an update too: 1/72 = 5 (need YF-21 original release) 1/60 = 1 (VF-1S Strike, the only 1/60 i'll ever own) 1/48 = 2 (VF-1S Focker and LV) Heeeeeeey, be easy on the 1/60. The robot modes may suck but their jet modes are good. A great way to have a good fighter mode without forking out for more 1/48s.

Hmm.... this is a problem now for me too I was going to get a VF-1J Hikaru with fastpacks on e-bay, but the one I was looking at just sold. how often do these things come up for sale?

I love the Raptor one. That's my favourite plane and the valk version looks great on it.

Don't know much about the credit card thing, but I must say that valk in jet mode looks pretty sweet. Very intimidating.
