I'm one of those Animated fans that's been clamoring for an Omega Supreme fig for years, but I don't think that particular Ark was in mind in any way when designing this guy. The Ark was G1 all the way, and the bot mode they came up with in no way resembles the Animated design. This is a really well done scratch-built model from years ago, but it still looks amazing. As you can see, the legs are formed from the front of the ship, and the shoulders and arms form the back and sides, respectively. Those are the engine bells on his shoulders. There's some unknown origami going on to form the chest and integrate the big red block on the front of the ship. A back view of the model would likely give some hints, but just from this front view, it looks incredible. If this can be scratch built, transform and still look this faithful to the toon model, why can't Has/Tak do at least the same? Moreover, why haven't they already?! This would have been a very welcome toy to celebrate the tenth anniversary back in 2018. Instead, not so much as a mention to mark it, let alone a new figure. Although there are those who don't care for the aesthetic, I think most fans who bothered to watch it can admit that, standing on its own merits, it was a well done show, certainly more watchable than the recent Netflix shows, IMHO. I thought the toys were very well done considering the challenges facing Takara in translating Derek Wyatt's very stylistic designs to three dimensional transforming toys. It's still one of my favorite TF toylines, and the majority of mine remain on permanent display in my mancave. maybe Animated will get some love for it's 15th anniversary, but given Hasbro's tendency thus far to completely ignore it as if it never existed, I'm not holding my breath.☹️- 16711 replies

So fervently wish Magic Square would consider upscaling their designs to match CHUG scales. That Jazz has me all aswoon. No feet hanging out the back, either, Hasbro. NA's is still a pretty respectable take, but yeah, Magic Square are really bringing the A-game with MP level sculpt and complexity at the legends scale. Impressive.- 9146 replies

I have the first release of Deep One, and it's a pretty well executed set, better, I think than their Landbreaker set. The submersible modes are more realistic than the more sci-fi mech-y construction vehicles. But I'm an aircraft guy above all, and Icarus appeals to me more, I think, due to that bias. Even with Eagle falling far more into the range of sci-fi plane than the more realistic Raven, which reminds me of the B-1B Lancer in profile, the planes and their lanky combined mode hit that sweet spot for me. Unless it turns out to be a floppy mess, I imagine it'll be one of my favorites among my growing Megabox collection.- 9146 replies

Thorough review of The Ark, Mike. As to all the discrepancies, they're unfortunate, most glaringly, the lack of the fifth bell, and those gaping holes on the sides where they should taper like the nose sections. How hard would it have been to put curved panels that clamshell closed there? I've seen at least one third party solution, but like you, I thought it was probably partsforming, and I'm willing to wait for a better non-partsforming solution. Unfortunately, as seems to be more frequently the case with add-ons, they'll likely be 3D printed, which always have that tell-tale rough and slightly striated texture to them. Paint helps a little, but with 3D printed stuff still being a relatively new technology, albeit getting better and better, I wonder how well this stuff will hold up over the years? I wouldn't be surprised if it degraded or started to crumble or separate as opposed to injection molded plastic parts. I've thus far avoided buying any 3D printed stuff, although I've been tempted on a couple occasions, but the unknowns and the textures always turn me off. Anyway, I'm expecting my copy of The Ark in a couple days, and I already know that I want a transformable solution to those huge gaps. I can live with four engine bells, but IMHO, this toy should have never made it to the production stage with those gaps. Hasbro should change their motto to, "Where half-assed is the pinnacle", with a picture of The Ark prominently showing off his huge gaps in the hull. I wonder, too, why the little turrets weren't made to rotate? Again, if they're already separate pieces, why not? It's more playability. Too, a BFG would have been a nice addition, but...Hasbro. The hands are odd looking, like he's wearing tight fitting rubber gloves instead of having some nice mechanical looking mitts, and with their limited articulation, there's a bit to be desired here as well. Again, third party will likely arrive at a solution. And the limited articulation of the head is disappointing, too. BUT, seeing as how this is probably the only time in my lifetime that we'll get an Ark toy, and better yet, an Ark that transforms (as nigh everything in the TF universe should) in the main line, just like Unicron, for all of its flaws, I couldn't let this opportunity pass by. While the majority of folks who buy this will likely buy it for that Ark mode, I'm a robot mode guy at heart, and I very much like the bot mode they came up with for this guy. He'll be hanging out next to Unicron in my ever shrinking mancave. The flaws, on this fig are frustrating, as with a little more effort on Has/Tak's parts, they could have really put out a polished product here that left little to complain about- nitpicks rather than glaring flaws. But stuff like those huge gaps, the lack of that fifth engine bell on such an iconic ship- those are things that really should have been given more attention, a slightly higher budget- whatever it took to make this thing complete and accurate to the source. I'm pretty sure most of us would have paid more for this if it looked better than it does. Maybe this guy should have been a Haslab fig, just to achieve the necessary budget, but it strikes me as odd that a company making , on average, a billion dollars a year needs to crowdfund anything. But considering we could have gotten a better toy overall from that platform, it kinda makes me wish that's the manner in which this guy would have been produced. Alas, they didn't, and the result is before us. I'm still happy they made him, but it's more of a bittersweet feeling than the unmitigated joy at getting something truly excellent. 'Preciate the heads up about Rodimus, @Hikuro. Mine's not due out from Pulse for another month or so, but it's nice to have these reviews as a foresight of what to expect, both positive and negative. Overall, sounds like a good fig, and certainly the best looking official Rodimus in bot mode ever. Agree about the cab- sticks out too far for my liking, too, but I do like that he has a vehicle mode that's different, but still reminiscent of Hot Rod's. Def one of the stand-out figs in this line, methinks.- 16711 replies

It's called Icarus, and it's an upcoming set of transforming cubes that, as you can see from the pics, become jets, and further combine to form a robot in 52Toys' MegaBox series. Unlike the majority of the BeastBox/MegaBox toys, which transform from a cube to animal or creature, this set and its two predecessors turn into vehicles (construction, and submersibles). I have the first two sets, and I'm very much looking forward to this one, as I like the jet modes and the lanky bot mode. Glad to hear that first impressions of DS-01 are positive. I'm sticking with Meteor, but if that didn't exist and it was a toss up between this and the Takara, I'd take the DS version without a second thought.- 9146 replies

Wreck-Gar came yesterday, and today I bought a small tabletop tripod for my camera. Seeing that big motorcycle mode, I had an idea, and an opportunity to try out the tripod. I thought Nicee had a little deeper bend in her knees, but I couldn't get her to sit properly with her butt actually sitting on the seat in these pics, so she's scooted a bit forward and kinda hovering. but the scale works pretty well regardless. I haven't tried to sit any of my actual TF figs on Wreck-Gar, but I imagine the voyager figs might fit better than the deluxes, just due to narrower pelvis areas on deluxe figs. I'll have to try some other figs just to see who can ride and who can't. Incidentally, WG's a pretty good fig. Nice and chonky in both bot and bike modes. I love the use of his head as the instrument panel in bike mode; it's hidden in plain sight, and that's some cool engineering. My copy's joints are all over for tightness/looseness. None of them are floppy loose, but some, like his waist, have less friction than I would have liked. Too, his shoulders are on pin joints, and I think ratchets would have been a better choice for long term endurance. My copy's shoulders, again while not floppy and able to hold a pose without drooping, are not very tight, and I fear they will start drooping under their own weight with time. The hips are ratcheted laterally from the body, and the detentes are not as fine as I would have liked. It's not as egregious as I've seen on other figs, but smaller detentes would have offered finer posing. The hips swing forward and back on a standard friction joint (pin at the top of the thigh, mushroom peg at the crotch), and given the size of the fig, one would think the hips would preferably ratchet fore and aft rather than laterally, but that's not how they designed him. Mine has no issues standing or holding a pose thus far, so it works. The feet can actually pivot up and down a bit as well as rock inwards at the ankle, so better foot articulation than about 90% of TFs. His wrists also swivel, which again, better than most. That, and opening hands, should be the next standard upgrades to articulation in the main line. The old eternally closed fist is so 80s, and I wish they'd do better. Overall, it's a good update for the fig, who really hasn't had many good figs in the long history of the franchise. This is certainly the most G1 accurate, and IMHO, they did a good job with him. Even the partsforming wheels element doesn't bother me; it's kinda necessary considering the original design. I greeted my wife this morning with Wreck-Gar, with his chest guns pointed up; she said he should be called High-Beam. 😄 My Sideswipe/Skywarp two-pack is due Friday or Saturday. My Ark, Galvatron, Tracks, and one or two other figs are inbound as well, more than likely delivered on Friday. This package requires a signature, a first for TF deliveries since I received Unicron. looking forward to the Ark, my first titan class fig. Hoping that voyager Ratchet/Ironhide in SS86 is truth. We really need something better than the crappy ER versions. I got my Kingdom Red Alert on Pulse as well. I get the lion's share of my TFs there these days, as brick and mortar never have stock around here anymore. I was just at Target today, and they had no Generations figs at all, just Buzzworthy stuff (but not Origin Bee) and a few Cyberverse figs. My local Wally's entire Hasbro action fig section has been empty for weeks. There are definitely some issues. Better to wait for the slow but inevitable releases from Pulse than gamble on the retail void. I feel bad for little kids who want TFs; it's hard enough for us seasoned vets who know where to go online to find some of this stuff, especially exclusives, but for uninitiated parents trying to find this or that fig for their kid, it must be very deflating for both parent and child alike when these things are nowhere to be found. I'm sure it's a mix of factors, Covid being chief among them, but I hope the powers that be are able to to make the supply chain more efficient going forward. This disease is going to be with us for a long time, an it's just another obstacle in a long history of them for us to overcome.- 16711 replies

It took Hasbro a long damned time to finally figure out that what the vast majority of TF fans want is faithful representations of the G1 characters despite the mountain of evidence to support that assumption. MP became highly sought b/c it was giving fans that G1 fix. Likewise third party, in various scales. I'm glad they finally came around, and I agree, the WfC series has delivered, I think, what most of us have been wanting from the main line since the original G1 toys: updated versions that capture the essence of both toon and toy in fairly well balanced figures with good to great articulation, and that still transform into a pretty close facsimiles of the original alt modes. While there've been a few missteps along the way, like Astrotrain, I think most of us are in agreement that most of the figs have been pretty well done. I've been very happy with WfC, but with a caveat: the omission of a complete set of appropriate weapons and accessories for each figure analogous to their G1 toys. More complete paint work would be nice, too. I really wish they could find a way to bend the rules and give us a proper G1 Walther P-38 Megatron in this line, as well. This is definitely third party territory, and though I'm aware there have been CHUG scaled Megatron figs in the past, I'm thinking more along the lines of Magic Square's legends Megs upscaled to voyager. That fig is brilliant, and it would make for an excellent placeholder in a Generations collection until such a time, if ever, our govt relaxes its gun laws. I hope @tekeringand @technoblue are right, and we see third party start making CHUG scaled figs again. There's a need. Price is definitely another side of the coin; MP scaled toy prices, both official and non continue to rise, with XTB becoming the notable exception of late (so glad, too, b/c I'm all over those sweet Omnibots). Legends are on the pricey side as well, with a legends car bot costing about $15-20 more than a Hasbro deluxe. Right now, it's much more cost effective to invest in Generations if you're looking to complete your G1 collection on a modest budget, and the toys have been , on the whole, really well done. We can all nitpick hollow areas, paint, loose joints, etc ad nauseum, but some of those same issues crop up in both the more expensive legends and MP scaled toys. Being smaller, lighter, less complex, and less expensive than MP, one is less apprehensive about applying some custom paint, tightening a loose pin, adding stickers, applying the joint stiffener of choice, and just picking the thing up and messing with it on a regular basis than I think most are with MP figs. Personally, I rarely ever touch my MP figs, but I'm constantly messing with my CHUG stuff. They're toys that can be handled like toys without becoming apprehensive about fragility or over complexity that kinda robs many of the MP figs of their fun factor. YMMV.- 16711 replies

My MP collection has become the backseat of my TF collecting. I'll pick up the odd fig if the character or the toy itself appeals, like the upcoming Skids, but I doubt I'll ever have a complete first season roster in MP scale, even though all those characters exist in some form now in MP scale. It's just not as much a priority to me as the main line, which has always been the focus of my TF collecting. I've bought a handful of legends figs, as well, but again, I cherry pick the figs I want to buy, and have no compunction towards having a complete set of figures. It gets too expensive, and I just don't really have the space. Hasbro owns me, for better or worse, although if third party ever jumped back into the CHUG scale again, chances are high I'd be investing more heavily in what they have to offer over official, just like MP.- 16711 replies

Sounds serious; whatever upset you, I hope it doesn't completely poison your enjoyment of the hobby. As for me, this is my primary forum for discussing all things Transformers. I visit TFW2005 from time to time, but things get out of hand over there a bit too much, with little in the way of moderation; essentially too many unchecked self-entitled man-children with anger management issues with opinions that matter more than anyone else's. I tend to steer clear, at least clear of the Transformer discussions. I generally visit the Toyark forums for 52Toys stuff, LEGO, some Macross, etc. Those forums tend to be far more civil in their exchanges and respect for one another. At the end of the day, it's your collection, and whatever your reasons for wanting to be quit of Transformers once you've reached your stated goal, I hope you continue to find joy in that. Transformers are such a huge part of my life, and while I'm not as fervent in my fandom as some, it brings me joy, and I suspect always will, regardless of the community or other factors. I'm just a bit saddened to see a fellow member put off to the hobby. In any case, I wish you every success in finishing your '84 collection.- 16711 replies

Hmm, I kinda liked the way they made Mindwipe's legs become the wings, but I agree that the head looked too organic, especially when compared to Weirdwolf or Skullcruncher. I have the retro version of Brainstorm, and while I like it, I have to agree with Mike in that, of the various TR molds they could have used, Blurr's really wasn't the best choice. So, as has become the usual trend with Fed Ex, my Wreck-Gar was delayed today, and now I'm showing a delivery for tomorrow. It's not as bad a delay as I was expecting, but I just have to chuckle at how this situation has become the norm for pretty much all my Pulse deliveries from Fed Ex. Speak of the devil, I received shipping notices for Kingdom Galvatron, the Autobot Ark, Tracks, and Scorponok today, due on the 15th, which means it won't actually get delivered until a day or three after that. Rodimus Prime and Rhinox, who are part of the same preorder, were delayed to Oct 1 and Dec 1 respectively. I would rather have waited for Tracks and had Rodimus sooner, but I can wait a month. I'm hoping we'll get some new Kingdom/Legacy reveals during PulseCon 2 next month. Been kinda slow for main line news of late. I'm hoping the rest of the first season minibots will get their toys, along with more Dinobots, and deluxe scaled Insecticons. Still hoping we'll get a full set of voyager scaled Constructicons, too. I passed on the CW Devastator as it didn't appeal to me, either the crappy Hasbro version, or the slightly less crappy Takara version. I think we'd be better off getting the Constructicons as individual releases, with the appropriate budgets allotted to raise the quality of the figs. I just hope they don't make this fig or that a particular exclusive, making it nigh impossible in this era's market to try and get the whole team. If they do release new Constructicons, and some are sold as store exclusives, I should hope that Pulse would offer them to members as preorder-able items negating the frustration of trying to hunt them all down.- 16711 replies

Just to put my frame of reference in perspective, I was already becoming a LEGO fan before the minifig was invented. I got my first LEGO set when I was about 5, and my dad built it for me. But I soon started building my own things thereafter. No prodigy was I, and the things I built at that point were unmentionable, but the seed had been sown, much to my dad's everlasting regret, I think. Anyway, Classic Space and Classic Town came out about four years later in the US, and in the following years I managed a small collection of CS ,Town, and Blacktron sets before I graduated and went off to the military, where I continued to acquire the odd Space themed set here and there throughout the 90s into the new millennium. I was a very frugal buyer of LEGO until my wife started encouraging me in the mid 2000s to buy the sets I liked rather than passing them up and regretting it later, as I often regretted not picking up any number of sets over the years before I met her. nearly twenty years later, I've acquired quite a lot of LEGO, and they keep making more. Now the 'space' I require is that necessary for storage! Kidding aside, I love LEGO's Space themes, and while I'm glad they have Star Wars, I'd like to see original space stuff on the shelves, too. Doing their own thing allows them to expand the possibilities beyond the confines of an IP, and that was a huge part of its charm. LEGO and Transformers remain the pinnacles of my collecting, and probably shall until I'm pushing daisies or they stop making them.
-
I empathize with you on pretty much everything you said here. I don't consider myself obsessive about Classic Space, although having grown up with it, I'm quite fond of it, and have a small but nice collection of CS sets which I treasure. My wife couldn't care less, either; MW is my sounding board for all my hobbies, and sad to say, about 98% of my social life. MOCs are great, but I agree; there's a joy to be had when you can relax your brain, put on some music/tv, and just follow some instructions resulting in a finished model that's appealing to you. And yeah, going outside sucks- all the fun stuff is in the house.😄
-
They keep touching on space via a number of Creator sets, but no new themes or series of sets for the last seven years. Star Wars is good, and I'm glad they have the license, and I like a lot of what they've done with it over the years; however, it can tend to become a little dull, and it'd be nice to have a space theme that's not Star Wars at least every few years to break up the monotony, or should I say monopoly. I also wish they'd do an Exo-Force 2.0 with better mecha designs, something akin to Zane's Titan Mech Battle. The designer is a huge fan of Gurren Lagann. He also worked on the IDEAS Voltron set, IIRC. Imagine a whole theme of mecha done this well. 😍

Agree; Cylion and Mocha would make very complimentary display mates. A small part of me still wishes I'd gotten Cylion. Incidentally, I never sprung for an Arcee accurate head for my Nicee, so she exists as her own thing apart from my TF collection. Deformation Space took a novel, if a bit painfully overcomplicated, approach to stowing the arms. I love the idea, but not so much the manner of execution. The too-small nose section still bugs me. Other than that, it's pretty much an improvement on MP-52 in every way. No faux cockpit or cover, neat transformation, especially the arms, a far better method of stowing the stabs on the legs inside the legs very cleanly. That's one area where this shines over MT's Meteor. I'd like to take the best of this and Meteor and make the perfect Starscream. To those who get DS-01, looks to me like you're getting a pretty cool figure that does most things better than the official MP, and a few things better than the Maketoys.- 9146 replies

I thought Hasbro's take on Springer for the WfC line was pretty well executed overall. The only thing he can't do is have his shoulder pauldrons canted outwards, but that's not really an issue for me. I prefer the Hasbro over MFT's, but everything's subjective. As for Mocha, I kinda feel the same. Had I known this was coming, I probably would have passed on Nicee in lieu of Mocha. that said, my earlier comments stand; she's a beautiful figure with excellent articulation lending her herself to all sorts of dynamic poses. I hope you enjoy your copy.- 9146 replies

Wow, NA's Magnus looks amazing. the fifth wheel in truck mode looks odd with that big white chunk on the hitch deck, but at least this becomes a fully realized cab and trailer, with a working fifth wheel and a usable car carrier trailer. Can't really ask for much more in an Ultra Magnus figure. If they can do this at legends, why oh why can't Hasbro and Takara, with over thirty-five plus years of experience, make something that's at least close in the main line? Magic Square and New Age are just knocking it out of the park with these legends figs.- 9146 replies

OOOHH, I've been waiting for impressions of the MS Constructicons, as I find them more appealing than the NA versions. MS definitely went full toon, which IMHO, isn't always the best, but it is what it is, and they pulled it off well. I can't wait to see their Long Haul and Scavenger, as those were the only two G1 Constructicons I owned, and Long Haul especially, has always held a special appeal for me. My hope is that they'll separate the back wheels from the dump bed, and we'll finally have a G1 LH that can function like a real dump truck. That lack of functionality has plagued virtually all, if not all, versions of Long Haul that I'm aware of since the G1 toy that started it all. I had high hopes for Toy World's Long Haul, considering the lengths (working treads, for Cybertron's sake!😍) they went to to impart real world functionality into their Constructicons, but my hope was for naught. Missed opportunity there. So, I'm hoping MS will give me what I've longed for in a Long Haul all these years. And of course, if I buy one or two, in for a penny...as the saying goes. What's kinda cool about these is that at legends scale, they'll be right about the same size as the G1 toys, which were notably smaller than standard 'deluxe' figs of the day, back before size classes were a thing. For those that own a full set of the G1 toys, having MS' set to stand alongside it will be a cool display that really captures how far these toys have come from those modest days when Takara was still modeling these things from wood. Thanks for sharing your pics, @Convectuoso.- 9146 replies

Good review, Mike. I passed on this guy, as even with the extensive changes, there was still too much of the lackluster Siege toy evident. I'm with you: Earth mode Mirage beggared a new mold where the legs become the back of the car, the front, his chest, and the sides, his arms, like the G1 toy, and toon incarnation by extension. This is a bit too ham-handed for my liking, and I still prefer Classics Mirage to this. I love that figure to death, anyway, but objectively, it's a more accurate G1 Mirage, minus the front wheels sticking out of his back. Anyway, this is another example of odd choices and decisions for who gets new molds, and who just gets reworked. The Siege mold was so off from the G1 toy's transformation that a whole new toy should have been made for his Earthy outing. Disappointing, but that's Hasbro for ya. As for an Earth mode Hound, it seems funny that one hasn't been announced, but they made his Siege mold so close to an Earth Jeep that they probably didn't have plans to go any further with it. I think the same for Mirage and Sideswipe; I get the inkling that the Siege versions were meant to do double duty, and that's why the Cybertronian alt modes were very close in appearance to their Earth modes. But, something convinced them to do Earth mode versions, and hey, it's more dollars in Hasbro's pocket for the lower expense of simply retooling a few parts. I have no evidence for my theory, but it feels correct to me. Anyway, Siege Hound was an ok mold, but no retool will better the excellent Classics Hound figure, which is one of my absolute favorite Transformer toys of all time. Alex Kubalsky designed both Classics Hound and Mirage, as well as Bumblebee, and I will never stop lamenting his departure from Takara. He's still designing Transformers, but under the radar for third parties, like MMC. Good news on my end; my copy of Wreck-gar has finally shipped and hopefully I'll have him in hand next week. It's Fed Ex, so that's a dicey proposition. I'm still waiting for Pulse to accept payment and ship a glut of Kingdom figs, including the Ark, which will be my first titan class figure. Kinda excited for that one. Anyway, the entire order was slated to ship on or about the first, and here we are on the fourth , and still no word. Sigh. I like using Pulse, and in the past, they've got stuff out in a timely fashion, sometimes ahead of other venues. But lately, they seem to be the last guest at the table, so to speak. It strikes me odd that the source gets its own product later than mass retail, but I guess that's the cost of working under contract, and perhaps they're giving up their own stock to fulfill those obligations, leaving them, and us paying members, waiting, while all around us everyone else has their toys. I'm patient, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it sucked just a little.🤕- 16711 replies

I don't think you'll be disappointed if you do. They put more emphasis on the action figure aspect than the transforming aspect, although her legs do form a a goodly chunk of her car mode, which is still better than the completely shellforming ER Arcee. Her hip and back kibble go a long ways towards completing her alt mode, but honestly, that's pretty much how it is and ever shall be for the character turned three dimensional toy, unless someone like Unique Toys does some crazy origami to have more of the bot involved in the transformation. As it is, I found Nicee to lend herself to some excellent pose-ability. The small feet can make some poses more difficult to pull off for want of stability, but if you have a stand (I don't), then the possibilities open up for all kinds of dynamic poses. I gotta admit, I love the closed canopy look of Mocha, as well as the sharp color scheme. She's a beautiful figure in either mode. I still wish they'd been able to implement the Robocop-esque opening holsters in the hips as seen in early shots of Nicee. That would have just elevated the fig in my mind, and I already have a high opinion of her.- 9146 replies

Looks like Big Firebird are looking to get a little mileage out of their Nicee mold. Looks good, with enough differences to set her apart from Nicee. I love the overall design style that BF went for with these figures. While this is cool, I'm going to pass, as I'm happy with Nicee, and don't feel the need to double dip. However, I'm very interested in seeing pics of their actual Windblade figure, as that's one I might be inclined to pick up. I'm just hoping it's not the base Nicee fig with wings and a new head attached; I hope there's a more complex transformation involved. Guess we'll wait and see.- 9146 replies

Good eye, Detective Danth! I never noticed, but having it pointed out, there's merit to your theory. More to the point, none of these are shown in actual space. The starry background is the closest we get to being in space in any of those. Not even the recent Shuttle Discovery set is set in space. Suspicious. If Disney is really dictating to a toy company that none of their products, even those that are space related, can be shown in space in order to maintain a monopoly on that environment, that seems terribly desperate, insecure, and wrong. But it makes sense, if such is the case, why LEGO won't even bother making their own space sets anymore. What's the point when this licensee dictates what environments you can and can't use in your product? But those licenses make them a lot of money with all the tie-ins, likely far more than they made from home grown space themes, so they're going to stick with what fetches profits, even if it means ditching one of the major themes that made them successful in the first place, and still warms the hearts of millions of LEGO fans. Money's nice, but it's not the end-all, even for a business. I'm glad they're successful, as it means more parts and lots of larger, more complex sets are possible. But to acquiesce, if that is indeed what they're doing, to another company's self-serving demands at the expense of their own traditional themes, I'd have to tell them in no uncertain terms to go f##k themselves and have a merry day. Personally, I think LEGO could get by without Disney, although I'm sure they'd see the difference in their bottom line. But, maybe it would force them to get back to what made LEGO so special in the first place: creativity, originality, and imagination.
