  1. I happily and gratefully preorderd mine. My Yammie 19's right arm fell off one day, crumbled at the shoulder irreparably. So this new one, with all the added bells and whistles, is most welcome.
  2. I ordered a second VF-171EX Plus through NY, since I broke my first one trying to get the nose to lock into the backplate. Impatient dumbass that I am, I snapped off the pivot behind the cockpit, and the other side started cracking due to the stress. So I'm working on repairing it, but I'm getting a second one in case I botch it. At least I learned what I was doing wrong with my first one, albeit expensively. And, re-preordered the Arcadia YF-19 through HLJ. Black Friday price drops...Yay!
  3. My interest in MP-10 didn't come to the fore until it was too late to get one through TRU, so this may be promising. Still don't like the rear wheel wells or the covers in bot mode. They could mod those out too, IMHO. Going back a page or so, I like the G1ness of that IDW Whirl, and hope there's an equally G1ish Roadbuster in the works. I have an old 80's Convertors Mugen Calibur toy, and I've wanted a fully poseable and transformable version of it ever since. My 80's version transforms, but it's a brick in bot mode (shoulders swivel, that's it). As for Whirl's Gerwalk mode, I generally find Gerwalk pointless, but it looks good here and I especially like the Macross reference. Wonder if HG will try to sue?
  4. Glad I checked the thread. Canxed my original YF-19 preorder and preordered at the new price. Thanks to all for the info!
  5. Received my Super Parts for my renewal VF-25G last week, got an Arcadia YF-19 pre-ordered, and I'm expecting a 1/60 V2 Roy Fokker VF-1 to ship from HLJ this month (projected).
  6. It would have been wise for them to obtain those molds upon absorbing Yamato, since those are Yamato's properties. Moreover, obtaining them prevents them from falling into someone else's hands. The knockoff business is already booming; there's no sense in feeding the competition.
  7. Those pics are awesome. MP Prowl has been my most wanted TF since I bought the original in '84, and realized with disappointment I could never make him look like his box art b/c he was a brick. My MP Prowl now stands alongside MP Sideswipe in my living room, doing his box pose...and I giggle like a little girl everytime I see him, such is the sheer awesomeness. From the bottom of my heart, domo arigato gozaimasu, Takara! I do hope a new MP megs is in the works. I have the first MP Megs and he was disappointing for so many reasons, esp after the awesomeness that is MP-01 OP. That said, I didn't jump when the new MP Prime was out last year, so I hope there'll be a reissue at some point.

    Lego Anyone?

Straight up awesome. Great job on everything. That GBP armor made my jaw drop.
  9. I have MP Soundwave, and have no interest in any repaints of this mold; however, I'm all in for MP Ratbat and any other MP cassettes TakTomy wishes to make, and I hope they make them all. Finally got all the IDW Generations figs. I've been looking for them fruitlessly since July, and last week they started showing up at Target and Walmart here in Spokane. I'd seen comments saying TC and Hoist were small, but wow, their truck modes are conspicuously undersized next to their fellow deluxes. I wish the sensor thingy behind their heads could be stowed out of sight in vehicle mode...it looks dumb. My copy of Hoist's tow boom/gun's mount post is undersized and barely pegs in in vehicle mode and falls right out of his hand if the fig is jostled. Meg's chest opens up a bit to give it a louvred look...nice design, and he looks good in both bomber and bot modes. I didn't like Orion Pax's alt mode when the Toyfair pics were shown, but really nice fig in person. This is one of the better Cybertronian alts, IMO.
  10. Looking good. It would've been nice to have the moving panel to accommodate the arms, but the legs on this version aren't as wide from shin to calf as the Yammie, and there wouldn't be room enough for the gear, or just barely, not to mention the internal stores bay. Overall, this version improves on the Yammie in so many other areas that a small indent is negligible. Nice color correction...she's really purty. Wish they'd posted a lower angle photo of the 19 on a stand with the gear up. Looking forward to a slimmer, trimmer fighter.
  11. Overall, it looks good. Maybe it's because of the large shoulders, but the lower legs look a tad too short, giving the battroid a stubby appearance. I compared it to the VF-19, and the legs are sized about the same, but the VF-19 looks more proportionate to me. I do like how the lower legs have a fuller appearance now compared to the Yamato's 1/60. Anyway, I love my Yammie Blazer, and I look forward to picking up Arcadia's YF-19. I hope a new Arcadia YF-21, with improved battroid proportions, isn't too far behind.
  12. Mine came uncrushed, so there is hope! Good luck!
  13. Lot's of comments to that effect over at TFW2005, so I guess it's coming. I hope it's close to the original, and I also hope they make a faithful update to Roadbuster as well. I've always wanted a nice poseable transformable Mugen Calibur toy, and a Generations update might be the best low cost option. Rhinox looks amazing, and to a lesser degree, so does Waspinator (bot mode great, wasp meh). HasTak did a good job with Skids, Cosmos, and Swerve, although I'm holding out for the eventual Gears repaint. Seeing this Cosmos, I'm almost sad that I shelled for IGear's UFO, but he's still a nice version of the character. Although Hasbro pretty much disregards the G1 storyline from their new canon, I'm pretty stoked to see G1 still influencing the toys.
  14. YF-Turkey indeed. I never much cared for the high speed look either. The forward swept wings are the 19's trademark, and look great with the overall design. It's already fast and maneuverable; the high speed wing position just seems like a superfluous idea that Kawamori had, but I don't remember its being used in the OVA or movie. I'm just looking forward to a superior YF-19 to replace my broken 1/60 Yamato YF-19.
  15. Ever since my YF-19's shoulder crumbled beyond repair, I've been hoping for Yamato, and now, Arcadia, to make a new version with all the improvements gleaned from the VF versions. Great news indeed!
  16. Preordered the Super Parts for the VF-25G thru NY. I went cheap with shipping (1910 yen EMS w/ tracking and insurance), and the final total was 7260 yen, or approx. $79.00, for anyone on the fence wondering how much it'll set them back. Since Michael's ride was the only VF-25 renewal I managed to snag, I figured I'd splurge for some Super Packs, since they appeal to me far more than the Tornado Packs. I also broke down and got a VF-171EX with Super Packs as well. June has become an expensive month.
  17. My wife and I enjoyed it. I liked the slow build up, rather than just constant action and fire fights. There are some beautiful visuals in this film. Hat's off to Daniel Simon; that Bubble Ship is gorgeous. Hope we'll see toys or models of it in the near future.
  18. I'm not familiar with Gunnm, but the trailer definitely smacked of Battle Angel Alita. Somewhere out there, James Cameron is sneering.
  19. For Macross toys, I bought 2 VF-4G at around $300 each. For non-Macross, I bought the Ultimate Collector Series LEGO Millennium Falcon for $500. That's the most I have, and probably ever will pay, for a single toy. It was worth it, though...with over 5000 pieces, the thing is huge and looks amazing.
  20. I'll say Arcadia, since I think they hold the greatest potential of carrying on Yamato's work. And I'll second that suggestion that they lead with a V2 YF-19.
  21. Interesting. How does it look with the cannon installed?

    Lego Anyone?

Thanks, fellas. I agree with you, Kelsain. I have Yamato's VF-4, and it is so limited by those immovable shoulder nacelles. I wish they'd done the same. Alas, that's the beauty of creating your own.
  24. All of my valks are in Battroid 99% of the time, with my YF-21 the only exception. Guld's beauty stays in fighter mode, primarily b/c it's too unstable and tends to fall over more than any of my other valks. That, and the skinny legs just don't look right to me. I don't do GERWALK at all.

    Lego Anyone?

I built a fully transformable VF-4, albeit stylized, that features perfect transformation to all three modes. This is the revised version; I took the original to BrickCon in Seattle back in October. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=523248
