Well, good not only for the wallet, but for making any necessary tweaks and improvements. Hopefully, too, Bandai scope the various forums to see what folks are saying about early pics, and making adjustments, as well. Since only the fighter has been shown for the -262, it's a bit difficult to nitpick it too much. The fighter looks pretty smooth overall from what I've seen. Still can't believe that no battroid pics have leaked; those must be some fiendishly enforced NDAs at Bandai and their factories. As for the -31, I hope the forearms are tweaked to add a little bulk, but I digress.

HLJ has the PO for 37810 yen. That little discount doesn't soften the blow. Still, the thing looks gorgeous, and I'd love to have at least one decent Garland toy. The paint job and metallic finishes have me nigh to drooling. I think I'll exercise restraint, though, for a review, and hopefully, it'll go on sale for around $200 sometime later this year. Hey, a guy can dream. However, if reviews agree that this thing is solid top to bottom, I may just pay the asking price just to have it. But then again, if they make the Proto-Garland .... I'd rather have that. Damn my first world dilemma! But yeah, these toy prices are becoming nigh-prohibitive these days, unless you work three jobs, eat ramen full-time, and have no life outside of collecting.

Working treads on a transforming toy is fantastic, and Toyworld did a great job implementing them on their Bonecrusher and Scavenger figures. I wish more official treaded TFs had them.- 9383 replies

They look pretty good, but those super skinny forearms don't, esp in that GERWALK shot where the fist looks bigger than the arm. They look more proportional in the artwork.

Watched the Willis review vid. He's a decent figure, but I hope when Takara get around to making an official Hound, they'll find a way to collapse his front fenders or give his arms clearance around them. I still think CHUG Hound is the best toy ever made of the character, even if it's not G1 accurate. It's just an exceedingly well designed and highly articulated figure.- 9383 replies

The narcissistic jerk approach to the character is awesome. Glad to see that he's the same Batman we got in The LEGO Movie. Hopefully, this'll spawn a few good sets as well.

I've never owned a G1 Shockwave, and I can't recall if I've ever even had the opportunity to handle the toy, so he's a must for me. I wish he were more in line with the changes we've been discussing, but overall, I like it. I hope MP Megs isn't too far behind. Moreover, aside from Soundwave and his cassettes, Shockwave is only the second new Decepticon mold in the MP renewal line. MP Megatron is long overdue; it bugs me that Takara didn't develop MP-10 and a new MP Megatron simultaneously. It would have been a cool start to a new line, with successive near simultaneous releases of an Autobot and Decepticon for display balance. As for Optimus Primal, I'll likely get him, but he's not as refined as I'd hoped he'd be, esp for a MP figure. He looks like a mainline leader or voyager Generations fig to me, really not much better than Rhinox (who I think was done exceptionally well), Rattrap, or Waspinator. I wish they'd release him as such instead of branding him under the MP line, thus justifying a greater price tag. I really, really wish they'd gone the avenue of the customizers I posted previously, using faux fur to make him actually look like an animal. That's the step up that would have dilineated him from his retail Maximals.- 17831 replies

Good question; I was wondering that myself, since those two watch batteries would be enough to power the LED. Presumably. I was generically looking up pics of MP Primal, when I stumbled upon this from a few years ago: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/913918-mp-optimus-primal-fur-collab-getrightrobot-encline.html That is what I was hoping we'd actually get, or something close. Hat's off to a brilliant custom.- 17831 replies

Following the conversation about Fans toys' Grinder, I took a look. Those shoulders are a huge improvement over Takara's limited ball joints. Overall, it's an improvement over the Takara, but as mentioned, the figure is a bit dated now. I hold out hope that Takara will eventually produce all the Dinobots to scale with MP-10. If I had the financial resources, though, I'd be tempted to get Fans Toys' Dinobots. They look great.- 9383 replies

+1 They've tampoed every other release with the faction symbol; why not Shockwave too? One of the things I enjoy about the MP line is not having to apply stickers. I'm also in the crowd that wishes he was darker purple, like the G1 figure. Takara make no sense; they're slavish to the animation to a fault with certain things (like UM's red bumper-chrome would have been so much nicer), and take license with others, esp those things we want them to be slavish to. Argh! Kinda cool how the cannon pulses, but it would have been accentuated with some sound effects; it's not like a sound chip takes up that much room these days. It'd have been cool, too, if they'd had Corey Burton record a few of Shocky's lines from the original show. Ah, well. As far as MPs go, Ratchet aside, I'm ready for them to announce the next G1 figure. I hope the lack of news in this regard heralds a MP Megatron announcement. Or a new Seeker mold. Either would be most welcome.- 17831 replies

That land vehicle mode-kinda has a German WWII vibe to it, not in a good way. The word 'eyesore' comes to mind. The helicopter mode looks decent, though. I'll stick with Hasbro's Sandstorm, even if the dune buggy looks like it borrowed some tires from a John Deere.- 9383 replies

Not feeling the love for Pastelicus. I fail to see the allure of G2 gawdy color schemes. For those who dig it, it's nice that there's an option.- 17831 replies

Up front, I generally abhor Cybertronian alt modes, favoring more realistic Earth vehicle modes; however, between Hyper Novae and Seraphicus Prominion, the latter is far more striking, esp that bot mode. He has a bit of a Mirage look to him that I like. HN is very reminiscent of Laser Prime, a figure I never cared for; the bot mod just looks off to me. So in a rare instance, I'd go for the Cybertronian design hands down. Gotta agree that the way the armor compacts into his trailer is really neat, and the un-armored figure is striking on its own.- 9383 replies

Not digging that in the least, from color scheme to pointy clown shoes...yuck. It is cool that they made proper hands and feet, but neither look very good to me. Been spoiled by third party, I guess. TFW2005 have pics of upcoming Titans Return Astrotrain, or more appropriately, Astrosub, since I've yet to see a train with a con tower. http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/03/19/titans-return-astrotrain-ravage-first-toy-images-311626 As speculated, he's a recolor of the upcoming Sentinel Prime figure. While Astro's bot mode looks pretty good, I find both alts to be atrocious. I really wish they'd done Earth alts instead of Cybertronian. At this size, he'd have made a decent sized shuttle comparatively.- 17831 replies

A quad GERWALK would be cool, esp if that big cannon could swing up top, giving it a quad tank look. A quad battroid would be interesting, but even moreso if it can also assume a bipedal form. That would be a first for a valk, and add something unique to what has become pretty formulaic. Armored Core is what came to mind ,too, as soon as 'quadraped' was mentioned. Great...I've got this picture in my mind, and now it'll be a bit of a let-down if it's not quadrapedal. Thanks guys.

I liked the Tsoukalos angle, although it could have been done better. With our ties to China, I highly doubt it'd be seen favorably to villianize them, no matter how close to truth that portrayal may be. China get their 'feelings hurt' quite easily, and they would likely ban the movie, which would cut off a huge chunk of revenue. The Soviets are a much better choice, and I don't think Russia has really moved that far beyond its past, or at least they don't pretend like it didn't happen. In the next installment, I think it'd be interesting if Indy was pursuing an a secret parcel that the Cosmonauts retrieved from the moon. Could be alien, or Space Nazis. Either would float my boat. Just get rid of Lebouf, please.

I had little interest in the -30 when it came out, but those pics really sell it. Touch of regret. Missile pod notwithstanding, I think the proportions are a little better with the -30, esp the forearms. The -31's are really thin and just don't look as good.

For that price, I'm almost tempted to get UW Devastator. Almost. I'm still disheartened by the number of shortcuts taken with the individual Constructicons, even on the superior Takara version. I'm surprised they didn't make their own toon-accurate Mixmaster, given their proclivities of late. I have UW Bruticus PO'd with HLJ, and I've been looking at PE's add-on sets. I really wish they'd offer a basic hands and feet set for like $20. I'd buy a set for my Menasor and for Bruticus.- 17831 replies

When your Arcadia arrives and you put it next to the old Yammie, I think you'll be pleased. One caveat: watch those ankles! Max's ride sure is purty.

I'd love a MP Cyclonus...I've always really liked his design. I've been eyeballing Xtransbot's Eligos for some time now, and if TT could match that, I'd go for the official. Unfortunately, TT are not pumping MPs out very quickly, certainly not as fast as third parties. Gotta say, though, seeing Eligos sitting on its retractable landing gear with mini Megatron in that little detailed cockpit fills me with all sorts of happiness. A new MP Megatron is high on the want/need list, too. I have Appollyon, and he's a pretty cool figure, but I'd still like to have an official version. I wish they'd made a distinct mold for CW Cyclonus instead of recycling that awful Silverbolt mold, esp after Titans Return Galvatron and Scourge were shown at NY Toy Fair. Both of those figs are very true to their G1 look, and I wish there was an equally accurate leader or voyager Cyclonus figure coming. Can't wait to get that Galvatron.- 17831 replies

To include new in-scale Dinobots (all 5 this time), Constructicons, Skyfire, Insecticons, Reflector, and new Seekers. I want a complete roster of the First Season in MP glory; that's not much to ask considering the roster of bots 30+ years on. For now, Leader class Jetfire does a good job of filling the Skyfire void, but I'd love to have him in an official MP. I loved his character; ironic that his voice was supplied by the voice of Grimlock, Mr. Gregg Berger. I'd also love the Constructicons, but I guess the CW figures are the closest we're going to get. If they make a new MP F-15 Con mold, I hope they can reproduce the original transformation where the arms form the spine of the fighter; I've always liked that, and the only other version that replicated it was the Robot Masters line. http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/resources/review/robot+masters/+skywarp+/2541- 17831 replies
