  1. Even 7 followed TV continuity, there's no reason for Kawamori to switch gears now. Besides, having Maya & the Protoculture city both on Earth wouldn't make sense. That's of course not to say Max couldn't have an ace pilot father or something in the military, we never did find out much about his family history.
  2. I wouldn't expect Mao or Sara to pop up on South Ataria. Hell, they may be the ones to die (not Edgar) for all we know. Although when you take into consideration that the only other known Protoculture relic had a barrier shield protecting it (Ruins on Lux), the same may happen for Maya....
  3. The September release date for the Zeta box was re-comfirmed at AKon this weekend.....I hate waiting! There was also something else about limited edition versions of subsequent Seed disc's, though its probably nothing more than DTS or patches or something like Yukikaze.
  4. Very nice....but do you have a picture of that Mahoro statue???
  5. Nope, haven't heard anything about Voyager releasing Yamato in its original form (aside from the movies). Doubt they ever will either, there's nothing that would hold them up from doing so, they just prefer to release starblazers. Besides, all their releases have been VHS dumps, Yamato would be much better off with another company, or in this case for those on the fence, PICK UP THE HK'S!
  6. Oh yeah, can't wait for the last volume (why 2 months!!!). Only Matsumoto could make something as idiotic sounding as "Noo" cool Of course he also made me tolerate Daft Punk with Interstella 5555, truly a great craftsman. As far as Harlock reccomendations go, I'd say go for Arcadia of My Youth before Harlock Saga. Its a lot more well rounded (I love Matsumoto, but Harlock Saga & Maetel Legend were made while he was still cold, he's warmed up a lot more now with Gun Frontier & Outside Legend, hopefully Great Galaxy will blow away everything that's come before). My favorite work is still GE:999 though, pure perfection.
  7. That's nor a suprise. Macross Plus the same way, and it was well worth it for the epic last episode.
  8. It doesn't have transforming mecha, but Space Cruiser Yamato is highly reccomended if you like epic stories.
  9. Ah, thanks Kevin, couldn't remember his name It's shameful how he went from trying to bring high quality original toys over here, to ripped off from the HCM lower stock toys, shameful indeed.
  10. Well, Sara is proven to have some sort of mystical power being the Mayan shaman-priestess. Yeah, but is there supposed to be any tie-in with the Proto-devlin? Actually, that's not a Protodevelin power so much as it was build into the EVIL themselves, so it could be a pass me down from the Protoculture/spiritia phenomenon. Now if she was possessing people & or stealing their spiritia (the only powers that the Protodevelin themselves brought to the EVIL), then it would be a connection with them.
  11. ADV version uses the R2 masters were were redone for DVD.
  12. Actually, Yamato didn't "always" own Toycom, though they were working jointly on the Macross stuff. It wasn't until after the whole HG business came into play, Toycom's Ex/Toynami's current president (forget his name) sold Toycom to Yamato & started up Toynami, & rumor has it, signed a contract preventing Toycom from releasing any of the Macross stuff stateside with HG before leaving.... Of course whether adopting the name Yamato would change any of this is doubtful, but we can hope.
  13. Any word on an R1 release....
  14. Actually, I meant the audio was better in regards to the old image release, both the HK & ADV use japanese stereo tracks, as opposed to the old image release which used a mono japanese track. BTW, as I said, take the quality of those screen caps with a grain of salt, the image quality of the R1 shows through a lot better on a stand alone player & TV than it does my software player.
  15. And the last ADV, honestly, not as big a difference with my rom player, but you I can see a huge difference on my stand alone player. Anyhoo, subtitles are better on the official
  16. Ok, from the looks of it, prahaps the HK version "does" use the newer R2 masters, but here are some comparison pic's anyway.
  17. Didn't see anything from them regarding F91 either. Like Jinnai said, F91 was supposed to get a limited theatrical release like the Escaflowne movie did by the end of May 2004. It's the 31st already and still not a word from Bandai. Bandai has been showing subbed version of F91 at U.S. anime cons before Wing even took off. It's their oldest vaporware and I guess they intend to keep it that way. Oh well, maybe we'll luck out and the R2 Zeta movie set will have subtitles like the R2 0079 movies set.
