  1. Zeta gundam is delayed with no new release date yet...... FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! (Note: mods should excuse the above use of profanity as it's the absolute only possible response to such news). In addition: If you want to see man faye walking around in all his manfaye glory, that's your business. But if it's ok to double standard against women walking around iwthout their shirts on, then it should just as much be ok to double standard against manfaye walking around uncovered. The only scary thing is that it add's an extra level of fear that me may flash somebody....
  2. What'd be even funnier is if Harmony Gold re-dubbed that episode of Battlestar Galactica where Lloyd Bridges re-appears with his long lost ship and called THAT robotech shadow force
  3. As for Tatsunoko & the DYRL dub, I believe that info is on the old SUPERDIMENSION FORTRESS MACROSS VHS credits. The Yamato toy's are both asthetically & physically superior to anything Toynami has put out. Lastly, I'll be damned if I buy an HG condom. Next thing you know they'll be claiming rights to my sperm & combining it with someone who's eggs they purchased to make robobabies.
  4. Has anyone seen episode 4 pop up at any of the reputable HK shops? I hate ebay, and I hate waiting just as much!
  5. Aside from directing you over to the licensing debate, the gist of it is this: Big West is the actual creating company (as they have Studio Nue in tow), and the rights they fight for are the rightful creative rights such as designs, concepts, stories, etc. HG was involved in none of this, they got their rights from Tatsunoko whom paid for the production, but none of that included giving them ownership to creative copyrights, just distribution of what they helped pay to make (i.e. selling the TV series pre-existing animation, and apparently DYRL's as well). What they're trying to turn that into is that they own creative rights, and not just distribution rights (i.e. since they paid to help produce the animation from Macross, they somehow own the concepts, designs, & story there in, while all they actually own is just the produced product). So yes, is this matter Big West is the "nobler" side.
  6. Caption still says 2004, and they're running out of year fast. Considering the Dark Legioss were still easily enough taken out by ride armor, I'd hardly put much stock in centering a series around them, as the only thing they were good for to begin with was avoiding Inbit/Invid detection. I can't wait to see how they screw up Hikaru's design this time though, the sentinels version was funny as it was.
  7. Here's the deal, you either get the new ship design with Matsumoto's superior story & character designs. Or The old ship design with Nishizaki's newly contracted character designs & whatever half baked homocidal story he's coming up with. I do beleive this is just the preliminary OVA though (which would explain the cheeseyness of the CG) that's being released directly from the site. The TV series probably has not been finished yet.
  8. Bastard! Hopefully somebody's relicensed gunbuster. Next time you see Keith, tell him he's an ass for releasing that half assed MP:ME DVD...lying bastard!!
  9. That's pretty damn funny actually. What you should have asked is if it was her first time going to see Mari sing, or if it's a regular thing. It's sad Mari rejected her Macross popularity for so many years though, but it'd be nice if she'd play a character in a sequel some day.
  10. While Tatsunoko was indeed involved in the DYRL production (they are afterall to blame for Kiseki releasing the crapass international versions over the years, and that hong kong dub itself for that matter), but one thing still doesn't add up. If HG "truly" had DYRL merchandising rights, why use the TV style features on the toy molds (such as the TV style 1A head instead of the superior movie style). As for Big West being dicks, come on now, all they're trying to do is get their propety handled properly after a 20+ year old fubar'd contract. HG are the ones being dicks trying to prevent anyone from releasing items which they themselves have no rights to.
  11. Matsumoto had to use a new design since Nishizaki is a freakin' lunatic who thinks he's responsasble for the good aspects of Yamato.... With all that said, this is freakin' awesome, I can't wait to see it!
  12. What's to release? They already have a special edition DVD, Macross Zero, yamato toy's, etc.
  13. Considering the Macross has an overtech nuclear reaction furnace to run on, the question is do the ARMD carriers run on some kind of conventional fuel system, or perhaps an inferior reactor? It may save them on fuel/energy to dock. It may also just be a protection thing. While they did have a large mecha compliment, they didn't seem to do all that well defensively against the Zentradi. Wait a minute, what the hell are we discussing this for? The ARMD carriers/Dadedelus & Prometheus were there so the Macross could transform into a giant robot & look cool with arms damnit! How can it punch through hull's if it doesn't have any arms! No other reason needed
  14. Not only Valkyries, but Destroids too. Plus if you think about it, it's a great way to re-supply a ship (mini docking ships that can come and go as they please).
  15. Hmm, remember the motion capture mortal kombatish street fighter movie game? Why isn't that piece of crap on the collection? I want to use super street fighter ken to kick van damn's ass damnit!
  16. Dude since before 99... They were always saying that they were going to finish the Sentenels before that. Heh, there are still people waiting for them to finish the sentinels....
  17. While you do benefit more from DYRL by seeing the series first, it has more than enough plot & character developement to stand for anyone who hasn't seen the series (at least easily as much as any 2 hour stand alone movie). I think some just tend to be harsher on it because there is a much more in depth tv series version with events that can't possibly be included in two hours. Personally, I love to catch all the little placed & blended together TV elements that did make it into the film (of which there are many). As long as you understand the points about the love triangle, the war with the aliens, and the love song, DYRL is doing its job.
  18. The Daedelus arm was destroyed by Kamjin's ramming attempt in the last episode, don't think the Prometheus was though. But considering the overall mass of the ship was increased with the refit, as well as a minor asthetic redesign, it makes more sense to add new ARMD carriers than to rebuild two ships that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
  19. If you're old enough you may also remember Macek trying to claim credit for something in the New Adventures of Mighty Mouse too....that man t hinks he owns everything he see's....
  20. As much as I love DYRL, my vote is definatley for Macross TV. It all begins there. As for a live action movie, anyone who asks that should be forced to watch Super Mario Bros, Street Fighter, & Double Dragon back to back for a week straight.
  21. Give Keith's ones a try. They are pretty good! (The Macross ones, at least -- not Macross 7) I dissagree, that's an awesome midi of "My Friends" I wish I remember where I got that version of the Macross intro though. There were two versions going around at the time, a really shitty one, and that one. Sad thing was the crappy one was more common.
  22. Max flies through the hole, but it seals behind him (i believe).
  23. Hopefully the AV version will pop up, not sure if their version of episode 3 differed from Mi's, but there were no problems with it like episode 2.
  24. It had ot be built in by the programmers. I don't see how they could accidentally leave superjump, invincability (while dead) & time freezing all triggered into the second controller. Oddest thing about that glitch though was during the part where Megaman run's through the forrest as light's creation book scroll's on the bottom. If you do the time freeze it will stay at that screen while megaman goes to look up into the sky, and protoman's theme will play on for an extended period. The wierd thing being that they programmed a longer song than the allotted time given to it. It's definately worth breaking out your old nes copy to listen to.
  25. Click on my sig, i've got all the good (old at least, haven't done a recent search for new ones) macross midi's.
