I fully dissagree. Bright was damn near close ready to "tap dat ass"
-
Yup, force isn't back in balance until there is a Jedi inbetween both sides (like Luke), or there are no Jedi.
-
And yet, he throws in the bit in Ep III about Plagius being able to create life. so even if it wasn't Sidius, it could still potentially be his master

Finding a Slave women who isn't getting poked by her master would be hard in itself. But look at Tatooine, It's got pod racing to sharpen Anakin's skills, it's out of the Jedi's sphere of influence, and it's got Tuskin Raiders who are likely very succeptable to jedi mind tricks. Ones like "kidnap this woman, hold onto her for weeks, & just barely keep her alive."

I think it's highly probable that he created Anakin. In Phantom Menace, despite having minimal contact with him, we get what appeared to be a nice pun about him "watching his career." What struck me though, was Palpatine knowing exactly what Anakin's dreams were (and as such, his fears). Even Anakin was surprised about that. To me, that says those dreams were influenced by Palpatine. Letting Anakin be found by the Jedi, trained by him, and put into a powerful position within them would be a much more successful scheme then training someone himself to set up against them (see Maul). Then of course there's the convenience of having the clone troopers ready (supposedly ordered by Master sifadius, but just as easily being done after said Jedi master was struck down, with Sidus using his name in place). Being in control of 2 opposing armies (with the benefit of bieng the winner no matter who lost), having the right angsty pupil pop up at the right time (with all the right motivations for changing sides), etc, all seem too coincidental to not have been plotted out fully. As for Sidus not having knowledge of using the Force for immortality, that's open to interpretation as well. Using the midiclorians to create life is an entirely different ability anyway. Using the force to achieve immortality may have well been out of his grasp, or at the very least, just the right carrot to hold over Anakin, and be it true or not, it wouldn't have benefitted him to give Anakin the secret anyway, just to hold it above him. And while I'm at it, I just don't buy the whole "Padme lost the will to live," so I'll chock that one up to Sidus as well. Her death means that there's no one left to challenge Anakin's choices until Luke grows up. Even better, he gets the added rage from telling Anakin that he killed her (and he seems to know of her death a little too quickly at that). On the Prophecy, if you consider Luke to be the same mixed sort of Jedi his father was (powerful & impulsive), it could be considered that he too was on that boarder between Jedi & Sith. He just made better decisions than his father did. And with all Jedi & Sith gone, Luke would be left as that balance between them, potentially willing to let the art die out. That's the only major downside to the final 3 films not being made, we'll never know what Luke will do with his teachings, pass them, or take them with him. But those are just my thoughts on the matter.

Hmm, I've thought up yet another bit of CG for Lucas to stick in. Have the Cantina bartender become a Jango clone, that way when he says "we don't serve your kind here," we'll know he's an ex-clone soldier who hates droids......

The first movie covers episodes 1-14, until Char and Amuro meet up again. They saved time by eliminating the Moon and Kennedy Spaceport arcs. I take it you've seen it then? In which case, how is it???

The Macross 7 fence that everyone throws a fit over amounts to this: -Some Macross fans consider Macross as a whole to be a suedo realistic war story about mecha -Some Macross fans consider Macross to be an ant-war love story that showcases the power of love & the ability to share your emotions through music (that also has cool mecha). As such one side easily accepts 7, while the other does not. Regardless, since FX is now gone, pick up those 2 Macross 7 sets anywhere you can find them, otherwise they & their extra's will be gone forever (save for buying the actual R2 DVD's).

Mirai has never gotten hosed more than in Double Zeta (impression that I got being that if the La Vien Rose captain hadn't died, bright would have ended up having an affair), plus if Frau is there, why wouldn't Mirai be. Timescale of Movie 2 should be interesting though, assuming it only covers the life & death of Four, that still leaves a decent chunk of story for 3 to cover after Kilimanjaro.

Looks like the first movie will cover up through somewhere around episode 20 perhaps (maybe a couple less). It definately covers the introduction of Amuro, and may well go into Camille's return to Space to pick up the Zeta. That in itself is a ton of story to cover though, so then again, it may end with Amuro's parachuting down in front of Char, I suppose that would be more time friendly. Unless they c ut out Camille's time on Earth without Char, and completely redo the psycho Gundam introduction, but I can't see that happening.

You should pick it up for it's awesome story, music, characters, & further exploration into the mytho's of the Protoculture. The Armored VF-11, Vf-17's, Battle 7, VF-19 Kai, & various Varuta mecha are just icing on the cake.

Knowing Tomino, it'll probably be "Heirs to the Stars," which is fine. Can't wait to see how crazy they get with the psycho gundam. Do you recall what the runtimes were supposed to be? For some reason, I keep thinking it's 90 minutes per film, but I'd hope it'd be closer to the 120-150 of the original trilogy filns, especially with the more convoluted plot of Zeta.

You mean this one? Its the RMS-108 Marasai. God damn cell shading, through me off! It opens Friday, can't wait to hear how it came out.

I just assumed he got fat due to what was lef of his physical body not being very active. Think about it: -Arms = Mechanical -Legs = Mechanical -Lungs = Mechanical -Voice = Mechanical -Eyes = Mechanical etc. Even an active Vader would be moving mechanical limbs most of the time, what was there to give the rest of his body any large degree of active movement that would work of whatever form of nourishment that sustained his biological self. As such, he's fat!

Not sure how new this trailer is, but in case anyone hasn't seen it, it's an extended movie trailer for the first of the new Zeta Gundam movies. http://www.apple.com/jp/quicktime/trailers...ndam_large.html While different, so far I really like this. Big sound, nice cell shading effects on the MK II, and is that a new mobile suit Char is piloting after his face shot? Looks like an 80 pound weakling version of the Sazabi. I definately can't wait for the DVD's.

Who is Leia the reincarnation of? Hot Bikini Love Slave from 1000 years ago His mother? Didn't say it was a good theory, just a "what if," as there hasn't been anything in star wars to suggest re-incarntation anyway.
-
Either way, if they were taking the time to put Hayden there, they should have also stuck Liam there, sure Luke wouldn't have known who he was, but his role has been placed at the highest importance anyway now. Or hey, here's a plot twist, what if Luke was the re-incarnation of Qui Gon Jin, that would explain his un-requited belief in Vader.
-
That is good to hear, while whiping 3P0 makes perfect sense, as he'd just get everyone killed is a fit of mass stupidity, R2 was always on the ball.
-
Then just write it off to Jedi magic, perhaps Leia as a child confused "visions" of her mother as remembering her.
-
No, she should have recognized Hikaru for his toy model flying skills through the hospitol window while running through the Macross!
-
Yup, chest cannon is indeed terrible. Strike Freedom would have been much better off with Funnels.

Star Trek: Enterprise SERIES FINALE is tonight.
Keith replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I too have never seen a single episode of enterprise (gave up on the franchise 2/3rds into Voyager), but now I'm curious, exactly what happened now? Holodeck? Why were all the ships rendered into CG? -
Don't forget a big batch of 2003 ADV disc's rotting...
