  1. It's because it was an OVA (6 episodes), not a movie. As popularity wained, so did the production budget.
  2. Is that how you woo'd michael moore?
  3. I went to the future and had you write it, for only you are macho enough to spew out such inaneness. Or maybe I'm just not wasting bandwidth, but then we'll have ot leave that for future generations to decide. Menstrating much lately?
  4. Psst, you'll note I already pointed him towards the protoculture collection in the first reply. All remastered disc's + all bonus disc's from the legacy sets.
  5. Now I remember that, though I'm glad ADV Didn't get it. I'd actually like to see Bandai put out Zero instead.
  6. Are you sure he didn't call because he missed you?
  7. No need, the crazy old money men will take care of everything for the both of us, including your illusion of control.
  8. No, we wouldn't bother voting at all, knowing the whole system is a sham government run by illuminati-esque old men who want to horde the worlds oil for themselves, and stomp out alternate forms of power.
  9. Royright in 2008!
  10. They ran out of idea's before they even started....
  11. Nostalgia can't save you from the terrible voice acting, haphazard plot holes, continuity mish-mashes, and terrible music. You're much better off replacing that nostalgia with Japanese audio & subtitles
  12. Really?! Wow how did I miss that? Rob 340601[/snapback] Slow step through the scene where they unveil the Metal Siren, specifically when Wendy is changing outfits.
  13. I like the part where we find out Wendy isn't wearing panties.
  14. Yup, whoever asked those questions is one sexy bastard!
  15. Yup that's the set, and the original sets are the ADV releases.
  16. Have you checked out his recent album (released either early this year, or late last). It's a very interesting listen.
  17. If for some strange reason you want to pick up the robotech versions instead, then check out some local retailer sites, and look up robotech. There's an upcoming big box set containing all of the robotech remastered disc's, plus all of the bonus disc's from the old un-remastered set. It's going to be a big thinpak box set. If you do happen to see the light of reason, then I'd suggest picking up the original series Mospeada & Southern Cross box sets, followed by either picking up the old AnimEigo release of Macross, or waiting for the new ADV release of Macross which will start in a couple months. Oh, and if you're happy with your current Bebop DVD's, then stick with them. As near as I can tell, there's no real advantage to the new set. Video quality is the same, though the new set does have a 5.1 mix. I personally like the old release cover art better (for some reason "remixed" just doesn't seem right on a bebop box).
  18. TV version is ripped directly from a bandai channel broadcast before the DVD release of the film. DVD version will be higher quality audio & video (if they bother to do a DVD rip before all 3 films are out that is). Video & sound quality are pretty good, not DVD good, but very good fansub quality (i.e. good VHS copy quality).
  19. Supposedly the mass consumer base also hates tits & profanity, does that mean we should edit that out of all media as well? And you can be as lazy as you want to be, but saying you're too lazy to read something that's on the exact same screen as what you're watching is a point far beyond lazy. I also hope you don't drive, as paying attention to turn signals & traffic may distract you from the fun of hitting the gas pedal & turning the steering wheel while looking for ass on the street.
  20. Yup, the version out now is definately a TV rip, subtitles are a bit off, but considering they rushed it before the DVD was released, not bad at all.
  21. 7 disc's is good....not as good as 6 with an even 6 episodes per disc, but still good. I also doubt they'll dub DYRL into the show, most likely it'll be one of those extra's. The question is, can they get away with it without licensing it through the proper channels.......! The disc's (with proper online discounts) will probably be around $20 each, so easily $140, or even $150 since the first volume with box will cost extra. It'll be worth it to have a copy of the series with no worries of disc cracking.
  22. You know, I just ordered a HK DVD of this the other day, assumed the R2 must be out, but that's probably of the TV rip too. Can't wait to see it though.
  23. Which is also on the disc with the David Niven version, this was mentioned earlier.
  24. Again, no dub will "ever" be able to top a subtitled version simply because subtitled versions aren't 100% dependant on the subtitles or their translation, hell, it's barely 50% dependand on it. The rest of the experience when watching subtitled is hearing the performance & emotion of the original actor who played the part, regardless of whether you understand what they're saying or not, you can feel what they're putting into it, the way the director intended them to put it in. Back to the Mari thing though, it's very cool that she's finally sat & watched the whole show (hopefully she'll watch the movie too), and this is bound to be interesting one way or another. I can't help but think ADV's true intnetion in bringing her in on the dub is the hope that rabid Japanese Macross fans will import the disc's just to hear Mari's new performance.
  25. So what you're saying is that the many Bond's of Casino Royale were too "manly" for you!
