Perhaps it had something to do with your general unfamiliarness of what actually took place in the show, and the weak arguments you spewed seemed a lot like those of people who haven't seen it. I said Sentinels had robot cats that crumbled into dust when you spit on them, this is 100% true! Macross 7 was perfectly implemented, you're crazy!! Hey, I said I'll buy it, watch it, and stick it with my 2 other Robotech DVD's. What more do you want?

Let's see, Protodevelin = omni-barrier shields, high power beam weapons, space fold capabilities, & overall near perfect biological representations of the Protoculture's battleship technology. Consider them akin to the type of technology used in shows like Farscape, biologically grown super weapons. As opposed to the Sentinels with its giant slug people, robot cats that crumble to pieces when you look at them funny, and recycled Southern Cross enemy mecha. So yes, I'm quite ok with the Protodevelin, and not so much with the Sentiels. Guitar styled control sticks you mean? Sure, why not. Have all the normal functions of a standard flight & thrust control, only shaped like a guitar. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. SC had some butt ugly mecha, end of story. And hell, the Sentinels even managed to make the Legioss look like trash. Not really, just someone with common sense. I feel they're quite awesome, to swallow a reaction weapon whole, and spit back in the face of their attackers, badass! And not knowing 7, you're hardly in a position to judge. I've seen 7, and I've seen all animated robotech. I know of where I speak. But then this isn't a discussion about Macross 7, so if you've got a problem with my view on robotech sequels, I suggest you address them on topic, instead of diverting to off topic things which you admit you've never seen.

The only reason to listen to the dub is to hear Mari, there's nothing else redeeming there. It just amazes me that no one else pays attentio to how she "properly" pronunces all proper names.

I bought Codename Robotech, & Robotech II: The Sentinels, both sit snugly in a robotech 3 disc box of shame with my copy of Space Gandam V! I'll gladly bump SGV on it's own & replace it's spot with this when it's out. It will stand as a testiment to the comedy that is american attempts at anime, and how "not" to follow up Macross. I just hope this new production has those cat robots that crumble apart when you sneeze at them.

It's already superior to the Sentinels in that the women don't look like men, and there's cleavage...still don't think it'll make it past this initial direct to video release, if that even ever comes out.

I can't wait, just as long as an R1, Korean (with English subs as they've done with SEED & Destiny), or passable R0 release follow, I'll be happy.

No, no dialogue, SFX etc through out would be called a silent movie. Music should only be used to support a scene, not be the center of it (unless it's a musical).

Imagine the end of Star Wars A New Hope during the throne room scene, and you can hear them walking up the stairs as they receive their medals but there's no BGM. That kinda silence. Or a Benny Hill show with no music. Just hear them running across the screen. That kinda silence. What's wrong with silence? Just because there are disney characters doesn't mean they have to jam every second of the game with music.

I'd agree with that, if it weren't for the fact that the line art versions of the art used for the final versions of the AnimEigo art were the same images used in his full color prototype images. Awesome game, though it's to be expected they'd put an overtly long tutorial stage in, as Disney probably demanded that players hands be held through the beginning of the game. After that, it's all awesomeness, right now I'm at Port Royal.

No money for packaging is silly, and I saw Garoquel's preliminary art which was much better than the final product, and just as finished. He specifically said at the time that AnimEigo wanted that butt ugly box art, most likely so HG wouldn't have to compete with shelf space for the robotech DVD's which were using decent art.

That's a simple one. That place was initially reserved for Char, but when CCA was greenlit, Glemy was stuck in his place. Hell, stick Char into every later scene Glemy was in, and he fits perfectly. -Making his own loli-Newtype -Splintering off the Neo Zeon forces from Haman -Stealing Judau's underage sister That's all totally Char!

Major change, Kamille isn't a vegetable at the end of the movie, which means he's still capable of pilotting, which means he'd smack Judau's bitch ass if he tried to get near the Zeta. Also, Judao's Newtype powers wouldn't have been awakened (as that was done by Kamille as well). Since there'd be no Judau to incometantly bash up the Zeta, there'd be no need for the newbie newtype use ZZ (as it's less agile & not significantly more powerful than the Zeta with MBL). Ah, this would also of course result in all early "bad guys" dying fairly quick, Neo Zeon not getting a foothold on Earth, etc. ZZ would have to be retooled into almost a completely new story...hopefully one featuring Amuro & Kamille, the formation of Londo Bell, etc.

In defence of the Animeigo art, Garoquel was initially going to do something much more colorful &...good! But apparently AnimEigo wanted the black covers with neon line art. I'm guessing it had something to do with HG, but who know's.

I know Zero takes place years before. My point is, early on in 5 during one of the cinema's, it's discussed after examining some of the downed enemy planes that they're cheap reproductions, or something to that effect. Implication being that those designs had already been around for years, and possably during the period of the previous war.

Ha! Actually, I blew it earlier in the conversation when I mentioned how my fiancée and I plan on playing Ai Oboete Imasu Ka at our wedding. After the utter fiasco that was the New York Comic Con (or wasn't, in my case, as I was told the place was beyond capacity when I arrived that morning and had to wait in a 2 hour line for a chance to get my refund and go home... ), I was determined not to make the day a total waste, so I hiked right back to Manhattan that night for the concert. Why should AC0 use older planes? Weren't most of the enemy planes in 5 supposed to be some kind of bootleg reproductions of already existing fighter desgins? Stands to reason Zero would feature superior production models.
