Alliance Vs Zaft II Plus finally came out this week, and I got a copy a couple days ago. And as expected, nearly everything that was left out of part one has been fixed here. -Plus mode is SEED Destiny's incarnation of U.C. mode, and while fun, still pales in comparison. U.C. mode was still much more fleshed out with the various character path's & alternate storyline paths. Plus tries to recreate this, but the whole core of it revolves around Shin, and his "realationships" with the various other characters. You can play "as" other characters (assuming you earn enough friend points), but Shin is still at the center of this mode. There are apparently 250 stages, and most of them are fun. Unfortunately, someone decided to throw in the decidedly "unfun" tactics of having to shoot nuclear missiles out of the air before they strike targets, stomping out little trucks under a time limit, and "life pod" chases under a time limit (i.e. touch various points before time runs out). Those stages aren't too prominent though. -Gallery mode is back, and seems to be nicely rounded. I haven't played with it too much,j so I'm not sure if you can view the in game 3D models like GvsZ, but there are character shots, artwork, movie clips, and music select which are all unlockable. -The best part of the game is still arcade mode though, and the Destiny suits definately add a lot of fun. Strike Noir is awesome with its flipping raround & shooting & twin pistol style guns. Strike Freedom manages pretty well to represent the insane armorment of the suit, though the Dragoons are a bit lacking compared to other dragoon suits, with the limited number of buttons on the PS2's pad, they did a bang up job. Most fun new addition, being able to lock on to two targets at once & fire in two different directions. The Akatsuki's beam reflection is also surprisingly fun, regardless of whether it makes sense or not, it's as close as we'll come to playing the Hyaku Shiki in this generation of games. The Murasame is also not suprisingly very Zeta like, though it struggles a bit against the more suped up SD era suits. Destiny is quite pretty with its beam wings, has awesome melee attacks, etc. The pink Meer zaku is also present, not terribly useful for fighting, but is entertaining none the less with its dancing & grenade bursts. Only MS I'm really dissapointed with is the Gouf Ignighted. If they'd left the controls as they were with the Gouf in the old Vs games it would have been great, but unfortunately they've dumbed down the head rod controls, one button for a weak grab attack, and one button for a stronger slash attack. If you passed up on AvsZ due to its sparseness, definatey grab this one. The overall speed seems to have been kicked up a bit more, the varied typest of weaponry alone is worth it (including movable huge beam weapons), and the ability to set boost to infinate for crazy midair battles are the major advances that have been made over the U.C. vs games. I'd still love to see them throw this engine over a CCA or Victory era all inclusive game, or just an "all" gundam game in general. Maybe on the PS3....

Are there any picture's of Nono yet? -
It's a 4 piece plastic case that apparently works as an outercasing for the PSP, while still allowing access to all ports/buttons/disc drive/ etc. Plus it has logo's & such reflecting Metal Gear PO. There's a small picture of it here MGSPO case

Hmm, a seiyuu change wouldn't even remotely be a good thing, in that case, hopefully they'll wait until her illness/schedule allows.

Or Nono... -
For those who recall animeigo's newsletter prior to their original release, during the video restoration process AnimEigo made contact wtih Big West to get the original audio tapes to remasater them. This effort was done independent of the video remaster that HG put up a little money for (and supplied their masters for). So when AnimEigo lost the license for Macross, the video reverted to HG (since it was apparently in their contract, and HG put up some of the initial money for the remaster), but by all appearances the remastered audio stayed with AnimEigo. Since this time, all mention of AnimEigo's remastered audio has dissapeared from any official info on their set, and likely they're playing it down now since they've no reason to share any more of their work with ADV than they have to. So what we've got with the ADV release are the audio tapes that HG had in their possession, hence the inferior audio, and yes, it is noticably inferior.

"BEAM ATTACK!" That show was too insanely awesome for its own good. I can't wait for the next season.

Assumedly the science lessons "should" still be in with the proper placement between episodes. More likely than not, they're just listing them seperately so people won't freak out that they're not there. Of course the newer science lessons are seperate features. -
Keep the dream alive....and you got an import of VFX-2 to play on an un-modded PS2? I'll be damned if I can remember trying before I modded my PS2, but that's very interesting. I'd consider that more a cosmic fluke than anything.

I really like how excited they seem to be getting about this release. So much so, that on the bottom of the DVD info page, it says "With Hard and Guts!" -
Perhaps this time instead of mimicing the forms of earth vehicles, the robots will tentacle rape them & invade the cars/airplanes. Something akin to the aliens in Megazone 23 Part II.

The AnimEigo subtitles were great, only complaints being a couple of odd pop-culture references thrown in, but nothing that takes anything out of context. Only downside to this set is that a good share of the DVD's themselves seem to be cracking with age. Benefit to this set, superior Japanese audio. ADV's current release is near identical, slightly tweaked translation, but nothing greatly different, and inferior Japanese audio. Benefit, assumedly they won't crack with age.

Why the bashing on Macross's different series?

Why is the sky blue? -
Hmm, Sony's going to have to stick a protective force field in with the PS4 when those launch.
-
Maybe they're all "Super-Shredder" from TMNT 2!

An odd choice, especially from a cross-promotional toy perspective. Perhaps these guys used beast wars for reference as opposed to Transformers proper.

He meant Guld, and there's never any proof as to Guld being a rapist, all that's shown is a raged outburst & ripping Myungs clothes. After that (given by what little is shown) I'd say he looked in the mirror, freaked out, blacked out, and completely jumpled events in his head, believing that Myung couldn't have possibly chosen Isamu over him, and that Isamu must have been raping her.

Be nice, she probably had a nasty bout of cancer hanging out with all that protoculture radiation. Most likely she had to have a double massectomy, and the implants were reconstructive... -
All I'm saying is if they can make them dissapear, they could just as easily make smaller ones appear in their place. Lazy! Not to mention it was never an issue in VFX-1 or 2, nor the PS2 Macross game that came out roughly around the same time.

That bundle B.S. should be illegal....hell, I'm pretty sure it is.

The no wings in battroid thing is old news, and yes, everyone noticed it. The official stance from the programmers was that they couldn't figure out how to get the wings on the back.....exactly.

Stop stomping on my dreams! Besides, for a licensing fee, perhaps they'd consider such an upgrade.
