First of the Bandai disc's. The subtitles are a little funky at times, but no worse than we would have gotten from ADV, and these are definately the DVD master eps, so all is well with this release. Only strange thing is that the opening & closing songs aren't subtitled, but I can live with that. Bandai are going to be releasing them every month (July, August, September) sub only, then in January, start the dub/sub release. And I'm much better now, luckily just impacted wax, a couple ear enema's later, and all is good.

Complain all you want, but the burdon of proof is still on you. Of course it doesn't, that was a classified event, and officially didn't happen until it was declassified. Roy couldn't very well say "yeah Hikaru, I totally just took on this crazy ass alien thing & lost a wingman to a mystery fold, it was awesome!" Yet you've yet to substantiate why sending along huge ships that look just like the Macross would be any kind of secret. You're joking right? Do you know what kind of prices they could have charged for tickets to fill up the Macross with civillians to be involved in backgorund shot shoots? What kind of publicity for the movie they would have gathered by having launching ceremonies & such? They'd be crazy "not" to use the Macross to shoot. Speculation backed with pictures! See the difference? See above pic's, the final design of the Megaroad looked absolutely nothing like the Macross. Burdon of proof lies in finding evidence that they "weren't" the last. Simply put, if there were a dozen or so Macross's cruising around, there'd be no reason for them to think it was the Macross. It'd be a common enough ship to warrent further investigating before calling it a name. You brought up Star Trek earlier, and with that, the situation would be the same. A ship bearing resemblence the the Enterprice could just as easily be the Constellation, the Yorktown, the Hood, etc, etc. That's factually, only one was ever built. Prove otherwise! And yet it wasn't, end of story
-
All changes based on that original design. Again, the burdon of proof is on you. The absence of evidence is not evidence. The same way we know that Hikaru didn't have a toater in his skull I suppose. Unless you'd like to argue that. It's not in the line art. Line art & pics, or it didn't happen. Simple as that. Exactly, prior to Macross 7, they didn't exist. Now we have proof that they do. You however have absolute zero to prove your multiple Macross-alike thoery. Its groundless, baseless, and unless it happens, is completely witout merit. That same blank page can also state that spaceballs happens in the Macross universe. Pics, or it didn't happen. Pompous? No, just realistic. The difference is between deductive reasoning, and random conjecture. This is Macross afterall, not robotech. Ok, if you say he's there, find me Waldo, circle where he is. Because the bulk of that ship looks like city & engines to me. Silly, all those have been mined clean for Lunatitanium & Gundanium. And show me that pic of a Macross-escort!

It actually looks very little like a Vajra to me, it looks a hell of a lot more like the Pheyos or Gabll's fighter. -

It also carries the burdon of explain to the civillians why its there, likely a secret best worth keeping to involved parties (i.e. shifty Cathy's boyfriend dude). -

Watch the ending again, Ranka did see the ship, she flashed on it right after the crash, which is why she walked over to take a look. -

Two easy answers. It was involved in a big firefight, or it had a barrier explosion yet again. -

Going by that, the original design of the SDF-2 took everything from the SDF-1, and just made it bigger, come on. Considering the fact that as of the intro of Macross Frontier (fleet movements), such Macross styled ships don't exist, it's not hard to believe at all. Whats harder to believe is that you treat using the Macross's fold drive as "fantastic." Dude, the reason the New Macross Class exists, is because the Megaroads "did not" have such ships attached to them. They started out with Zentradi escorts, then progressed with the newer designed frigates & battleships, but there was no mystery fleet of SDF-1-alikes attached to them. There's no basis to believe such a thing happened. If you supply me with a picture from any previous Macross series, or Frontier that shows a Macross-aliek ship attached to a Megaroad, then you'll have substance for such a random idea. Until such time, pic's, or it didn't happen!1 What's so hard to believe about that again? Bigass Zentradi escort ships! The Megaroads weren't going out unprotected. The priority was put on spreading out colony fleets, setting up resource gathering expeditions, and restoring a relative normal. Building a whole bunch of transforming escort battleships with reaction cannons took a back seat for 20 years, get over it. He's never put something into a place where it was clearly shown not to have been. Go take a trip to the Macross compendium. "Debut: Macross TV episode 1 Other appearances: Movie, 2012, II, Plus" http://macross.anime.net//mecha/united_nat...ross/index.html http://macross.anime.net//story/encycloped...love/index.html A bit of speculation? Maybe, but done so with enough reasonable proof to back it up. Bodolza's ship done with Holography? Mentioned. The Macross? Not so much The burdon of proof is in your direction. If it looks like the Macross, & is called the Macross, then its probably the freakin' Macross. Proof for anything else? You've shown nothing to support any form of reasonable doubt. It wasn't just designed to be a larger version, it was re-tooled into an entirely new design. The ship originally known as the SDF-2 Megaroad that looked like the Macross ceased to exist when it was re-tooled into the Long Distance Colony Ship Megaroad--01 Take a good look at that ship design, and tell me where the ship you're talking about is? I see the Bridge + an entirely new ship around it. No cannon booms, no nuthin'. Hell, let's go a little further. The Protodevelin took out the Megaroad-13 fleet, and used it as the basis to construct their new fleet. You can see some influence from the Megaroad in their main battleship, but no Macross like ship anywhere. -

Aside from just leaving it there, I don't see much other choice. What chance do you think there is that the Macross Quarter will fold in after a week, restart the ship, launch it, and tug it along with the Frontier fleet. Showing up there would cause some semi-major chaos. The meaning behind its destruction (if it does get destroyed that is) would be in the information that Alto & Ranka find out, as well as the events that lead it to rest there. I can't wait to see how this series ends, you know it'll be epic. -

Considering that there were several other ships in the cosntitution class that looked a lot like it, your analogy doesn't work at all. Things are pretty firm here: -There was only "one" ship of this design built/completed -They used the exact same ship, not a replica, in the filming of DYRL -there's an 8 year gap between the end of VFX-2 & the beginning of Frontier, if something so major as to whipe away the U.N. Spacy happened, then moving the Macross is very likely. Hell, its even shown going up against some mystery mecha in the next ep preview. And settle in kids, there's a very real possability that whatshisname VF-27 pilot would trash the Macross in the next ep. He's shifty NUNS guy's clean up go to, and he's seen going after Alto in hte next ep. Be prepaired! Maybe that mystery mecha is the same thing Ranka woke up in the ocean. I'm as big a Macross fan as anyone, but come on, there's no reason for denial here, that ship in the next episode is clearly the freakin' Macross. -

Just to recap people: -Macross TV is 100% story canon in story, character, & mecha design. The statements about the different views of the Macross universe occurred sometime around DYRL's release, and since have been recinded. -There's no mystery behind why the Macross's fold engine dissapeared, why the systems went wonky, or anything else to do with the ship. That was clearly explained as a computer conflict between new (human) & old (SA) programming when the Zentradi folded into orbit. The old engines ain't comming back, and even if they did, there are newer better fold engines in their place. -Sharon Apple is dead, destroyed, caput, gone. Isamu turned her into Sharon Baked Apple. -The ship in the preview is the original (refit) Macross, and as shown in DYRL, Macross Plus, & VFX-2, it's still capable of flight. Did I miss anything? -

The DYRL version "is" what the Macross is supposed to look like: Hmm, are we about to have our own Sheryl/Ranka board faction split? If so, I'm with the Sheryl for the win! Macross getting tore up fighting Bodolza + Kamjin sheering off the Daedelus Arm = Major Refit in 2012 - 2030 era design used in DYRL. There, I fixed it As for the VFX2 story, the basics of it were that a large coorperation was funding a coup within the UNS, having high ranking UNS, a Rogue Zentradi group as their army, and a new missile lock jamming system as their ace in the hole. You play Aegis Focker, a new recruit in the VFX Ravens team, who initially goes against said coorperation & Zentradi, until his flight leader (Gilliam) joins a 3rd rebel faction. After facing off with him (branching the story into an abrupt ending if you decide to kill him), you team up & go against all other nefarious partiess. At one point you break into earth orbit & take on a Zentradi mobile fortress, break into orbit & take on a soundjammer (missile lock breaker) equipped Macross, various Ghosts, and finally the Macross 13. -
When you first log into the game, it does a thing where it says adjusting port settings. I think if you select no there, you may be able to manually switch ports (I keep forgetting to try it, so I forget), but try playing with the settigns there, and you may have better luck.

Actually, there was never a problem with understanding the fold technology, or any of the systems on the Macross. The problem with the fold enignes, & all other systems on the ship, were caused when the boobytrap re-activated the ships original systems/computers, and they conflicted with the newer human stuff. Listen carefully to Global's recounting of events in Global Report. And like I said, if VFX-2 is still canon, then the last time we saw the m Macross would be 2051. -

OMFG that was an awesome episode. Though I still stand by my original assumption, Alto will end up with Sheryl, Sheryl is the Misa of the triangle. Ranka does win major star points in this episode though, finally breaking her out of her timid shell. As for the Macross, there are so many possaiblities here, I haven't read through more than 2 pages back, so forgive me if I'm repeating someone elses crazy theory, but: Assuming VFX-2 is still canon, and there were coorperate spies high up in the U.N. Spacy, it's likely there may have been a major event that tore it apart after the events in the game. If the U.N. Spacy did fall apart, that would explain our current situation with the NUNS, & various PMC's. The colony fleets would be on their own without a central government hub, so it makes sense the non-currupt UNS leftovers would try to recover somehow. And hey, what if Global was still alive, why wouldn't he try to steal the Macross & dash of with it. It was his ship afterall, and it had already fallen into enemy hands twice on Earth (Sharon & Timothy Dalton's crew). The Macross 13 incident could have been just the start of a major rumblel on Earth. And since the colony's were autonomous for all intents, it wouldn't be too hard to filter out news from the Galaxy Network about what was going on Earthside. If he did indeed steal the ship though, the next episodes title leads me to believe he died in the process. The wild card here are still the Vajra, but I'm getting an Earth f*cked AFOS technology, vibe, but we'll see. All wild speculation at this point, but exciting possabilities await. Personally, I'd like to see Max & Battle 7 pop up in a big battle with whoever the protagonists turn out to be towards the end of the series. A bigger badder Battle 7, as we never did get to see the final build in Dynamite. Of course I'd love to see Basara pop up too. On topic of what Tenzan (was that his name?) used to knock out Alto, it could be something similar to what Kamjin used to bring down the Macross on Mars. Doubtful he'd have anythign close to the Protoculture's nullyfying ruins technology that brought down Basara & Gigil on Lux. Regardless, this show needs to be licensed, I want an announcement at AX! -
You looked fine when I saw you, no jumping or anything. I think they were just being b!tches. Good game though, we all actually hung & and won a few rounds. Only problem I had was hearing your mic, most of the time you sounded like something out of Star Fox

Getting randomly sick has kept me from watching past the first 3 episodes until my ear drains, but more good news, this disc's have all of original japanese text intro's & endings. Definate points to Bandai, since those will be gone on the disc's released next year.

Only shops usually ship early. Good news, "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM" is intact. Bad News: "Team Gurren"does appear to be a Gainax imposed translation. Oh well.

And are you letting it set the port settings itself? If not try that. If you are, try not doing that
