I think I'll let a character from a "good" animaed series give my impression of this series after the first episode.

You guys do watch more anime than just Macross right??

It says the Protoculture created the Vajra to mine it, defend it from Protodevelin/other half of civil war, and that they're another unattended project?

I don't see how the Vajra couldn't be a Protoculture byproduct. They use the same technology, so that shouldn't even be an issue.

Ok, two plausable theories somewhat based on the next ep description bablefished from the official page. 1:Bilner is assumedly Zentradi by all appearances, hasn't been developed even remotely as a character, has no apparent ties to any other character shown in the series, so just who the hell would he be waiting to see? Minmay of course. If he were in some way related to Ranshe/Mao, you'd think he would have reacted somewhat to Ranka's appearance in the fleet. But absolutely nothing. Most plausable answer would be the Zentradi messiah, aka Minmay. That would also fill the role of the siilhouette that appears on stage on Frontier. 2:Bilner is actually a slightly crazed very old Shin Kudo in Zentradi disguise. Why? Who knows, maybe to elongate his life, but the person he'd be waiting to see in this case would be Sara. Maybe he wasn't brought with her afterall, maybe Sara just folded him someplace safe/slightly into the future after SW1, who knows. In that case it could easily be Sara that he wants to bring, her Protoculture heritage possibly being able to override Ranka's control over the Vajra through song.... In both scenario's, having an intergalactic fold network to search the entirety of the galaxy would be benefitial in finding either girl. Regardless, I'm getting a strong feeling that the outcome of the series is stongly tied in with who/whatever Bilner is.

Hmm, Basara? Minmay? I'm totally calling in late that day to find out what happens.

I think the recap episode mentions several "Fairy" candidates, of which Sheryl wasn't even the first. Besides, if anyone with a progressive V-type infection can potentially be the queen, then all she'd need to do is hold a pagent, & infect someone more aggresively than she did Sheryl. At this point, I'd also be extremely surprised if Alto didn't bail out & join the Quarter, or at the very least, tool off in his Ex-Gear. And no duke, it's not ride armor, it doesn't even have a big wheel. As for Grace swapping out blood samples, it could be becasue of the virus, but more likely, she wanted to hide Sheryl's relation to Ranka/Mao. Hell at this point who knows, maybe Grace is Ranshe's sister, and is actually Sheryl's mother. Any number of possabilities exist at this point. What I want to know? Why is the Vajra Queen in a suedo humanoid shape? a leftover Protoculture weapon afterall?? point for point, the AFOS is stronger than the Vajra, but the big red one's resemblacne to a Glaug is undeniable. Maybe the Vajra were a prototype for a bio-mecha factory that evolvd after being left unattented. I just wonder though, the Vajra Queen all sealed up, assumedly with no conciousness. Will Grace wake up something big bad that will bite her in the ass? Can I help it?

LOL, that would be funny as all hell at this piont if Sara & Shin popped up, that would make him the (living) pilot with the worst luck in the whole franchise. Though i wish Kawamori would break that pattern of abandoning main characters just once.

Yup, though I'm not sure if I can forsee the advantages for such a thing yet. But we'll see. Also a hardy kick in the pants at myself for not seeing that Wilder is the Britai of this series, he has one freakin eye, it was sooo obvious!

I kinda get the feeling that the end of this series will lead into a future Macross series with bio/vajra evolved variable fighters, and I honestly don't know how I feel about that. As long as they still look like cool as Valkyries, I suppose i'd deal. Awesome episode, and I'd be surprised if Alto was doing anything but pulling a Gamlin, the purpose of him being a Kabuki actor couldn't have simply been so he can wear an earring...?

I sent off a letter to Bandai Entertianments customer service covering all the bases, so hopefully they'll respond within the week.

They have a Japanese and American branch, so everything by Bandai Japan is distributed in the United States by Bandai America. ~BasouKazuma " The pessimist in me says that it was most likely a C&D from Bandai Visual Japan, since they've also been after Youtube. But the frosted side says they didn't go after Gundam 00 on CR until just before Bandai Entertainment announced the license... next stop, go pester Bandai Entertainment!

Yup, I thought the Virus may be part of a control mechanism too, but with Ranka adding herself to the Vajra collective, perhaps they'll be able to evolve the Virus to be safe for humans/cure Sheryl in the process. I just hope they have another series set up for next year, since no one is going to be satisfied with such a short cut off at episode 25.

I still say Ranka leaves/transcends with the Vajra, look at Ozma, he's quite poised to let her go at this point. I just hope she cures Sheryl before she goes, to show her love for Alto. As for a Kill 'em all ending, there was Aquarion & Arjuna...
