LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
Keith replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The funny thing is, their animated sequel seems to be in an equal measure of developement limbo. Meanwhile, we've gotten a 25 episode Macross TV series and movie followup (or clip down..). Hazzah! -
Got my main character's stats all to 99, something unlocked, but I'll be damned if I can tell what. Also maxed out the Monster, and it's funny as all hell watching other mecha get boxed around by it.
-
I have Luca, but no Brera, and everything is an S except for the Ex of Sad Sniper. I'm almost done levelling up Michel though, so I should have it soon. I've also maxed out the Macross along with Frontier. They went all out with Capitol ship awesomness in this game. Way more useful than the clunky mobile armor's of the GB games. Firing the Macross Cannon on both ships is my new favorite thing

I've heard rumor that's how you unlock Geplenitch, but we'll see. I also wonder about Minmay. I know you can unlock Misa (not sure if it's just as an operator, or what) if you get all 3 operators with maxed out hearts (working on the 3rd now), but I wonder if you max out all the pilots if you get something special.
-
To unlock the VF-27 & Battle Frontier, you have to finish the EX version of Sad Sniper. the first time I cleared the stage I got a C, but that was enough to unlock both. I think you have to get an S on it to get Brera though. Unfortunately, highest I've been able to get so far is a B, right now I've got the VF-25G nearly maxed out on stats, and I'm levelling up MIchel to see if either the chaff or Max World pilot skill will make it easier. I'll have to play with the VF-25 meelee's more htough, as I didn't notice the knife. As for the Vajra Queen when you go into network or free play, change the top option so that the 3 listed below it go blank, then switch the one that says "limit" to "on" then hit ok. This will take you to the co-op missions with all your tune points intact. Pretty sure you have to S all of those to get something extra too, but so far I've gotten all but a couple of the pilot misions, and Bodollza up to S. One of them is a straight fight against the Vajra Queen, and I'm pretty sure S-that one is what unlocked her. Though like I said, so far she's only in the mecha gallery. Note, amongst all the insanely difficult pilot missions, there's one against Kakizaki whichi is super easy for comedic value

If it hasn't happened for Gundam, it won't happen for Macross. A sad truth. -
The limited caps off the amount of tune points you can assign to any given mecha/weapon stat. Once you finish all era regular/enemy missions (don't have to finish the Ex ones), any mecha you've reached the cap on (filled up to available max) and used 10 times in battle will have its limiter removed. This means any extra tune points you've earned, or will earn from that point, can now be applied until each bar reaches the end of the chart.

I've been playing with Battle Frontier, slow as all hell with stock levels, but it's quite badass w hen you level it up. The Macross Cannon on it is absolute murder. It's almost unfair to have such a powerful beam be so easily moved around the map, but I love it. Now I want Battle 7 with the cannon in hand even more, as well as a more nimble Macross Quarter, I can easily see the Quarter dominating with its combination of firepower, speed, & size. Also, the VF-25's need their meelee animations to include the little beam knive's. Though I love that the YF-19, YF-21, VF-19 Kai, and VF-171's all have PPBP as their meelee's. I'll see about recording a replay & take some snaps of the Vajra Queen in a few, though I haven't levelled her up at all. Undoubtably the next game will include Grace with Super Queen. Strange, she shows up in the mecha gallery right inbetween the Large Vajra & VF-0S, but doesn' actually appear in my selectable mecha roster. Maybe I have to use the Small/Large Vajra a few times first.

I just unlocked the Vajra queen by playing through the co-op free-play missions, for some strange reason, I've found it easy to S the big ship missions, but the pilot missions are giving me trouble. Also figured out how to co-op play through the in game mission (duh), just hit to the left or right on the crosspad when the co-op missions are listed....can't believe it took me that long to figure out.
-
We also need Sound Booster equipped varients. I can't wait for the sequel!
-
I've got S/SS on all but 2 stages. Trap of Kamjin, & Sad Sniper. Can't wait fo rmore password EX xtages!
-
This is why I bought my brother a copy of the game, I can go vs pretty much anytime. Though from what I hear, the upcoming PS3 firmware upgrade should allow it to work as an adhoc hub for just about any wifi PSP game, which will make it even easier to set up a MW vs.
-
What I don't get, fine, hip new redo, updated ship interiors, assumedly updated ship exteriors....why the TV style uniforms? At this point, why not go back and just use a movie era style uniform, they look better, they make more sense.
-
It better be. If he runs around the whole movie in a black shirt......::shutters::

Just one more to unlock (think it's 7 era), then I'll have a complete set. I've gotten S/SS on all but the most vaguely goaled & super challenging levels, so hopefully it won't be too much longer before I have hte stat limiter gone. The more I play this game, the more I love it, I wasn't sure how it would stack against GBU, but I think I'm staritng to like it more. There's also so much extra potential for the sequel. -Post refit Macross -VT-1 -VE-1 -VEFR Funny Chinese -Cheyenne -HWR-00-Mk.I Monster -VF-0A -VF-0A with Ghost Booster -VF-0D -AFOS -Rogue Power Armor from Plus -VB-6 Konig Monster -VA-3 -VF-9 -VF-14 -VF-4 -VT-1C -VF-22S (Gamlin Colors) -YF-19 w/Fast Pack -YF-21 w/Fast Pack -VF-19F -VF-19S -VF-19F w/Fast Pack -VF-17 w/Fast Pack -VF-17 Kai -VF-19P -VF-11C Armored -VF-11D Jamming Birds -VF-1 Angel Birds -Any Varuta mecha they may have missed -Netter Valgo -Ghost X-9 -QF3000 Ghost -Quadran Rau Emilia Custom -Quadran Rau Chlore Custom -VF-25G Sound Booster 2 seater varient -VF-25F/G/S w/ Fast Packs -Armored VF-25 F/S -VF-2JA -VF-2SS -VF-XX Zentradi Valkyrie -Metal Siren -Variouis Macross II Destroids -Weird Macross II Battle Pod, Gilgamesh, etc -Macross Cannon ship -Battle 7 -Gigil -Sivil (and why not rhe rest of the Protodevelin) -Hikaru's Bicycle -Hikaru's Fan Racer -Focker's Dragon II -Minmay's Fanliner -Battle Galaxy And damnit, why not the Orguss Valkyrie too!

If any MW'ers will be near Kawamori, for gods sake, let him know we need english subtitles on R2 blurays! -
BTW, what difference does the pilot stat change make at the very beginning during character creation. I dodn't play with it because I had no idea what it did. Also, is there a list of what the different pilot skills do?

About Ace Frontier not being as polished as the GB games, for a (hopefully) first gen game in the series, it's already above Gundam Battle Royale (second gen in that series), so it's off to an awesome start. Hell, the PSP can pull off a surprisingly awesome Itano Circus, that in itself is a great feat. I've been playing since yesturday afternoon on & off, and I'm partway into the 7 arc. I'm very impressed with where this games at, and can easily see much more content being added in future revs. One change I'd like to see, an actually Macross style missile lock sound being added. But as it stands, the missile lock is implemented perfectly for the different types. Another nice touch, the VF-19 Kai is equipped with missiles, never to be used by Basara What I hope for in the next game, aside from proper fast pack varients for Frontier mecha, are era seperations for TV & DYRL, Zero, an original inbetween era with the 9, 3000, etc, Dynamite, II, more songs for the FB mecha, A Sheryl varient VF-25, a Sharon Apple varient Macross (nice touch with the controls going wonky btw), Graham, hell, there are so many possabilities. One other achievement this game has, wigns in battroid. Again I laugh at robotech battle cry BTW, has anyone figured out to set up multi-player campaign? I thought there was supposed to be a co-op for going thorugh stages.

Almost assuredly in the next game. Pick up Gundam Battle Universe just to see how crazy this team likes to get with their unlockables.
-
The controls become second nature with a little effort, thing I had problem with was learing to use triangle for all its various purposes, couldn't get used to leaning against/away from walls with it. If anyone's up, think I'm going to play MGO for a little bit. "Keith Zet"

And yet it's still there, plot point for plot point, nearly scene for scene. They had PC weaponry, the "ALUS," their Macross that allowed them to defeat the Zentradi, as for brainwashing, all, they'd really need to do is alter whatever pre-loading education system is used in Zentradi cloning. The number of necessary changes are far fewer than they used to be. The whacked Macross design can be relegated to a one off varient, etc.
-
Hmm, a tuned up Macross II for the 30th anniv of Macross? Why not. A few dialogue changes, maybe some animation fixes, stranger things have happened.
-
Like I said before, as rough as Gundam Battle Tactics was, I have no doubt that future Macross Ace games will tighten everything up, and add tons more mecha & features.
