Truthfully, it's been years since I've played either version, but I believe there was still the bit about her occasional human re-incarnations in SSS, to experience human "life" every so often. Thinking back, I do think you're right in intending that particular one to be her last, but I wouldn't necessarily call that suicide, nor winding up with Alex a booby prize, life as a god has to be tough. Considering at that point in the game, the storyline of EB already existed, meaning the Althena of SSS had precognition of Lucia's existence, it could be just as easily assumed that she felt secure enough in Lucia's abilities to finish the job of migrating everyone back to Earth, without having to continually watch over everyone. At that point, she also believed in humanities abilities more than her own. No, Ghaleon was never possessed by a demi-god, that was all him the whole time. Between his demon form at the end of TSS, half scaley face in EB, and recruitment of the 3 vile tribe witches in SSS, it can be safely assumed that Ghaleon was always intended to be one of the Vile Tribe. Remembering a bit more though, in SSS, instead of losing his power fighting the Black Dragon, Dyne lost his power in the human incarnation birth of Althena. Still a similar grudge there. What's so outlandish about that? If Althena wouldn't do the job, he took it upon himself to replcae her. -Demon/Dragon Form in TSS -Scaley half form in both versions of EB -Control over the Vile Tribe in SSS -Similar appearance & powers to the main badguy in DS. Not that hard to put together. Meh, mayhaps they got the power back after Zophar was destroyed... Or maybe the power of humanity turned out to be stronger than any stored energy! 3 times, many many years ago. All I remember was being pissed at him for stealing my blue dragon helmet! For entertainment value, sure they were cool, although they were starting to go a little too overboard byt he time of SSS. For a translation? Not so cool, far too many liberties taken with the script. Again, dont' see how you can be a Macross fan and not know the difference.

Meh, no amiga songs about crash man's gay love for mega man, no thank you!

Her "retirement" still wasn't planned, she just prepped things for Lucia to take over this time. There's no difference as far as that goes, he still finds Althena unfit to handle things. The only good thing Dragon Song did for us, was pretty much solidify that Ghaleon is one of the Vile Tribe, i.e. those forsaken by Althena's influence on the moon. Whether or not he knew the full brunt of the Zophar thing at that point is still unknown, and somewhat moot. Ghaleon in his own way would have united humans/vile tribe under one rule, regardless of which one was enslaved. I honestly don't remember about any magic capacitor, but his goal moreover was to steal Althena's aura, either to prevent others from stopping him, or to boost his own power. Lucia's mission was to watch over earth wihle it was rehabilitating, and to help in the migration back. Nothing Zophar did prevented that from happening (once defeated). He was always a traitor, it was just the scene that changed. He was always an ass, the extent of which again fallls back to the dubious nature of Working Designs translations. Go watch Robotech. Working designs cared about: -Making games harder than they eneded to be by screwing with the levelling system/boss levels -playing pinball -playing on the internet -pretending they were making their own games by taking large liberties with "translations" -ruining the Rayearth opening theme -occasionally releasing games every couple years or so -Oversizing mpeg video cut scenes -badly remixing soundtrack cd's -and in the end, ruining games by overdubbing the freakin' battle magic attacks!! Admittedly, they had the most kickass packaging & advertisements around, but their translation practices were archaic then, let alone now. Which reminds me, Irelandi s back with a new company, Gaijinworks...

You find out all you need to know, His dad's dead, he hates his stepdad, so he stole his care & drove it over a cliff. Pretty cut & dry.

A frieind just informed me this guy existed, and I don't remember seeing anything posted about him here in the past. Apparently Hyadain is 8-16 bit musical genius who loves writing parodies of classic game songs, now put to video on youtube. Discuss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdzjVnH9YoY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK4q30e9N9s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuIB4jshjO0...feature=related

It's called amazon, on your choice of DVD or bluray.
-
I didn't htink the remakes were broken at all (story or otherwise), well, aside from some wonky translation choices on both versions.
-
Madman probably releases it in australia, and unfortunately, it's probably the asme VHS dump to DVD that manga put out here. The upside, it'll look better than youtube.
-
I did too, my backup is probably dead now, but I had all my SS characters leveled up to 99.
-
The gameboy advance game was actually a really good, but miniturized port.

I know there are some Lunar fans around here, and the news just broke today that Game Arts is working on a new PSP remake of Lunar The Silver Star. Better yet, Game Arts proper is working on it. -Will we get a series that leads to a 3rd game conclusion this time? -Will the shame of Dragon Song ever be lived down? -Will we still be surprised when Ghaleon bitch slaps the white dragon & kidnaps Luna? I personally can't wait to find out.

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Keith replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hang with it, the end is all kinds of SRW awesoem. -
It's not outside of reason. Same script writers as Transformers puts this in an animation watching generation, a lot of general research went into a wide range of Star Trek TV/Movie references, and it wouldn't be the first time ST borrowed from Yamato. The entire gag with Scotty sabotaging the Excelsior & stealing the mothballed Enterprise was soo blatantly "borrowed" from Yamato 2 with Sanada sabotaging the Andromeda whhile the mothballed Yamato was being stolen.
-
I honestly see more Yamato influence than Star Wars. -Getting utterly bitchslapped in the first battle against a new enemy -Impetuous young crew manning the hot new space ship just out of drydock. -Kodai someone rebellious at the loss of his brother/Kirk at his father. -Okita & Pike -The Rivalry between Kirk & Spick isn't unlike the one between Kodai & Shima, which I suppose would leave Uhura as Yuki? -Nero isn't much of a Desslor, but in the span of a short film, he works. -Bombardment of Earth with Radioactive Meteors/Destruction of Vulcan with red matter/attempted destruction of Earth. -Spck & Starsha..kinda. Star Trek hasn't been shy about borrowing from Yamato before, and from the looks this time, they borrowed all the right elements. As for film Rankings... -New Film -II -VI -I -First Contact -III -IV -Insurrection -V -Nemesis -Generations.

The movie was more awesome than it had any right to be, despite Chekov. McCoy definately stole the show, but everything was solid through out, with a surprising number of references thrown in. If I had one complaint, it's that they didn't do this sooner. To hell with Q, Voyager, the Borg, and all of the other tired ass dead weight that the past sequal series dragged in. I say keep this a movie only series, keep repeating events to a minimum, and try and keep this cast together, and things should work out ok from now on. What this series most reminded me of, was the one series that took the best from Original ST, and boiled it down into a kickas space adventure. Yes, Uchuu Senkan Yamato. Just enough mix between action, & tongue in cheek sci-fi to properly balance out.
-
But how will they kill the borg without holodeck tommy guns! How!?
-
A TV series would only result in another recast, something that would completely kill momentum. If they stick with movies every couple of years or so, things will be ok. I really love the nuts involved in saying "all the trek you know is dead," truly a bold reboot direction to take.
-
I always thought as franchises, Trek compared pretty evenly with Gundam, and Star Wars with Macross. ST/Gundam - Good original series/original creater timeline stories, later run amok with oversaturated wtf franchise siyndrome. Star Wars/Macross - Great originals, with sparse sequels that fans split a definate line between love & hate of both shows & the creaters.

You know, I recently signed up for a japanese PSN account, I wonder if I can find that thing that tursn it into a network hub for PSP's to play games like this over the internet. Also, I've recently gone back to maxing out my mobile suit stats in Gundam Battle Universe. Damn there are a lot of mobile suits in that game. I want to actually finish this time, since I never finished maxing out the first 3, that way it'll be easier to carry over in the next version, whenever that comes out. Back to Ace Frontier, almost forgot, leveling up your original character, & gaining all of the skills will also be of great help. The ability "max world," makes taking out those tough to snuff out in a second bosses a piece of cake.
-
The Galaxy Class is the ugliest & most useless of all ST ship deisgns, I've never understood fondness for it. Well, whatever class the Voyager was gave it a run for its money. And since when has strict continuity been a factor in Star Trek? Seems a minor quibble to hate on. Any complaint can be trumped with the simple mention of KLINGONS!

The secret to missions you can't get an S on is either 1: Kill the boss ASAP as quickly as they launch. Or 2: Kill all the small fry first, and leave the bigger targets for times when there is absolutely nothing else to shoot at. If there are Large & Small Vajra, kill the small ones first, etc. Box missions are rarely about getting the boxes in as quickly as poisssible, and usually more about killing whatever wave is attacking, then moving 1 box, killing the next wave, moving one box, etc. The Macross 7 one for instance is a balance between "not" shooting down Gigil, and not letting Gamlin shoot down Gigil, while you take out his small fry. As for getting bored, I wouldn't say I've necessarily gotten board, but once maxing out hearts on each and every single character, including the operators, and max tuning every single fighter/zentradi/protodevelin in the game, I'm just a little too worn out to max out all of the pilot stats just now.

It includes both vocals & bgm tracks.
